  1. Sounds to me like Fargo? http://matbossapp.hs-sites.com/blog/how-do-college-wrestling-coaches-view-fargo
  2. Take a scroll through this and you will see some familiar names not only in Indiana but across the country. There are many NCAA Champions, All Americans, World Champions and Olympic Medalists who did NOT win their weight class. This was also my 1st tournament as a referee in Indiana. A long time ago for sure. http://image.aausports.org/…/AAU-Grand-Nat…/1987-Results.pdf
  3. I have to say this was one of the most enjoyable events I have ever worked on any level. The folks from the Lynx Wrestling Club, the Tourism Bureau, and Belterra Casino truly made this a great event for everyone involved. The atmosphere, the awards, the finals presentation, were all first class. I believe this will help grow wrestling not only in the area, but as this event continues to grow, it will grow wrestling in the state as well. Tyson Skinner this event would not have happened with you. With that being said, I have probably worked with hundreds of Tournament Directors throughout the years and you are certainly one of them I am already looking forward to next year. Tom Clark
  4. A few reports coming in that other teams/states are pulling out.
  5. Nothing and I mean NOTHING surprises me about anything that goes on there. The president of the Russian Wrestling Federation, Mikahl Mamiasvili. cannot get a visa into the USA because of his mob ties. They are in the middle of a major doping scandal with the IOC and the head of the Russian drug testing program dies in his sleep a couple of months ago. About a month ago, Adlan Varaeyev, the head of the Russian Freestyle Group "falls off" a bridge into a river and I'm not sure the body has been found yet. When the Soviet Union collapsed, the mob began controlling everything including sports. Payoffs and favors are a common practice. I have lots of stories....
  6. The NFHS Rules Interpretation meeting is in September. This is a conference call and PowerPoint presentation with Rules Interpreters from each state. This meeting is where we will be instructed as to how this situation will be called.
  7. Your passive agressive deflection is so predictable.
  8. Because of the skills the other 2 styles provides. He will be behind the his competition.
  9. See Timmy train folkstyle only. See Timmy fail. Fail Timmy fail. Fail, fail, fail.
  10. Theilke now faces Soryan from Iran. Many consider him one of the best GR wrestlers of all time. For what it's worth, I think so too. Soryan was embarrassed in Mongolia. He was gassed so badly in the 2nd period it was painful to watch. I refereed Soryan's 1st senior World Championship in 2005 when he was only 20.
  11. If Theilke would have reached and stepped into the arm throw one more time my computer was going out the window.
  12. Re: Moving slowly-the referees who are there that I have been communicating with are saying they wish they had 4th mat.
  13. Apparently there are more entries and countries competing this weekend than were in Mongolia. I would suspect due to travel costs.
  14. I'm not talking about restaurants, I'm talking more in the line of a dorm dining hall like in Fargo.
  15. Maybe you could coach the other team? We could have Hull's Heroes and Joe's JV's.
  16. So other than the ISWA admitting blame, what are your suggestions to correct the situation that we are in?
  17. I have said may times I don't agree with every decision the ISWA has made. In another topic, I included what I sent to them in writing regarding this very issue.
  18. Have you ever had the food in the dinning hall?
  19. And you have been taking pot shots at me for quite some time.
  20. This may not answer your question, but here is what I do know. USAW completed a site inspection and spoke with the folks making the bid last year. Many/several state federations have expressed concerns regarding travel costs to Fargo. Not all states can take a bus. Flying into Fargo is difficult and expensive. Housing costs would be a major concern for the state federations. Also, is the venue within walking distance from the housing, if not how do they transport the athletes to the venue. Support staff is also a concern. Fargo has developed a huge volunteer base. There are a few people working tables who have been there since it moved in 1994. Can Louisville provide enough support staff to make this work and it's more than just table help. Food service...where do the athletes, coaches, volunteer mat and pairing officials eat. Will they deep fry everything including the salad like in Fargo?
  21. So do you have suggestions or are you just here to troll?
  22. Read what I wrote again...I said whatever someone else says isn't good enough for them and they tear it down. Maybe that was a slap in the face. I couldn't pick Dan Hatch out of a lineup (that's not intended to be a slam), but the next time I see Joe or Nick I may just do that...and they both know I'm joking...more or less. I agree it is the ISWA's mess. I'm not deflecting anything. Let's try to fix it. In order to do that we need to be open to EVERYONE'S opinion, not just our own. These 75 threads remind me of the old saying "When all is said and done, more is said than done."
  23. I have no vested interest in the ISWA. I'm not a Board Member. I am extremely frustrated that no matter what other people come up with as a suggestion, the 3 people you mentioned and a few others do whatever they can to shoot it down because it's not their suggestion nor does it benefit their kid or agenda. I also believe that the people who are on the ISWA Board are good people. I know they are honest hard working people. Some have questioned their integrity which is way off base. I don't agree with every decision they have made, but I have never questioned their integrity.
