  2. Parade of teams is awesome. I am also a fan of the organ! State is the only time I enjoy organ music.
  3. 112 Devon Jackson defeated Stevie Gonzales again. He pinned him in the second period with a bar arm. Was a good match, 6-5 Jackson before he barred Gonzales up. 103 Dustin Shaw from Wes-Del beat Brock Bevans (Yorktown) 8-4
  4. NC would get the win at 103. 112 Mullins v. Jackson would be a great match. Edge to Mullins right now however.
  5. Castner wrestled at 171 at County tonight. He looked really good. He would be a HUGE 160 lber!
  6. I think Y2 is still trying to find a way for him to rig the scoring so he can say he beat me! ;D
  7. Yorktown would beat all those schools by atleast 12 points.

    headgear?

I require them at the middle school. The technology of headgear has come a long way, and many are actually not that uncomfortable. The more you wear it, the more you get used to it.
  9. http://www.thestarpress.com/article/20090108/HSSPORTS/901080372 The Muncie Starpress January 8th, 2009 To label Yorktown a prohibitive favorite today in the Delaware County wrestling tournament is an understatement. Try overwhelming. The county tournament starts at 5:30 p.m. at Wes-Del and barring an upset of epic proportions, the Tigers will win their 13th title in the past 14 years. The question is: Will undefeated Yorktown (16-0) match or better its dominant performance from last year? The Tigers won 13 of 14 weight classes, with 11 of those by pin, and beat second-place Wes-Del by 162 points. "There's some good wrestlers in the different weight classes. That would be a tall task," Yorktown coach Trent McCormick said of possibly winning all 14 weight classes. "No matter who's favored or not favored, I remember 15 years ago when we were the underdogs and we were trying to work our way up to knock Delta off." Yorktown returns eight champions from last year in Jake Anderson, Derek Bevans, Trent Castner, Jordan Dulaney, Cody Harper, Andrew Hiestand, Kyle Mosier and Ross Janney. Seven of those eight Tigers won their championship matches by pin. Hiestand won his final in a tournament-best 14 seconds. Anderson, Dulaney and Janney followed close behind, all winning their matches in under a minute. Delta sophomore Steve Gonzales prevented Yorktown from a sweep last year. He won the 103-pound class and returns in pursuit of another title, this time at 112.
  10. It is a joke that placement matches are wrestled at a shorter time! Many sectionals are won by the third place matches, and to have then shortened is a joke. At the Midwest Classic last weekend they wrestled all matches the same time. They said a new NCAA rule stated all first periods must be 3 minutes. This made for a longer tournament, but the wrestlers deserve the time.
  11. Maybe McMurray will not be at 152 come tourny time??
  12. Are the results going to be made public?
  13. Yorktown will run away with the team title, but it should be an interesting race for 2nd. Only 1 school in Delaware County has a 140! That is unbelievable.
  14. littlevito has a point, the draw does have an impact on the two wrestlers in the finals. There have been times where the top 2 wrestlers were on the same side of the bracket.
  15. He was working on getting jacked and tan!!! I think he already has that covered! 8)
  16. Is there an application process? I would like to be a god as well. ;D
  17. That would make a great avatar!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  18. Did he say anything about the schools that wrestle the day of weigh-ins?
  19. Apparently you did not pay him enough! Remember, he has a wife to support now!
  20. Any word on why Chalfant did not wrestle against Yorktown?
  21. Your answer assumes that they, as well as all teams, are the same as last year.
  22. Classed or not, my issue with the state series is that it is on the Wednesday before parts of the individual tournament series. I like the idea of a team tournament, but the format just seems wrong to me. We even start the team series by using tournament scoring, so the tournament is not even consistent. I say tweak it if possible. If it is between getting rid of it and leaving it the way it is, then leave it.
  23. The clock is cool (even though it is covered up on my page). 44 days!
  24. Jackson and Gonzales rematch should be a good one. Jackson beat him earlier this year 5-0. I know it is at Wes-Del, but what time does wrestling start?
  25. I have brought this up before. I think it is a good idea. I would volunteer to moderate.
