Hey IHSAA, time to use The Berne Witness for the Jay County Regional and Ft Wayne Semi State! Much better streaming. Why I didn't pay for it and just listened to WZBD. WZBD has been much better about not being just Bellmont focused. Should have gave the customers options if we were paying on which broadcast we wanted to pay for. I'd pay for The Berne Witness over Track. This area knows how to cover High School Wrestling! We have the only weekly High School Wrestling Radio Show in Indiana! Mr. Faulkner has even been a guest!

Thanks to all the Head and Assistant Coaches for supporting and promoting this event.  The first year it had 291 wrestlers, last year it was up to 390, and this year the event had 485 Wrestlers.  
Thanks to all of the great wrestlers who showed up to compete.  The level of wrestling was awesome!

I would just like to give credit to the young men and coaches for carrying yourselves like champions win or lose this weekend.  The overwhelming majority showed great sportsmanship and respect for their competitors no matter the match outcome.  There are a lot of people that want to point out the negative, but I think it's important that we take a minute and point out the positive, as well.  Way to represent your school, your wrestling program, your coaches, and your family!  These young men have put a lot of time, sweat, and tears (and certainly a lot of blood) into this and when you don't get the outcome you desire, it is tough to control your emotions.  These life lessons are far more important than any win or loss.  Well done to the competitors and well done to the coaching staffs.  

I’ve always enjoyed watching Brayden wrestle from his young years all the way up to his senior year. He’s a great wrestler and has amazing sportsmanship. He always talks to my boys at meets and even gives them a few pointers. I wish the very best for him as he continues his journey into college!

Just wanted to take a second and say Thank you to all the supporters Brayden has had though the years. We new jumping up in weight this year would be a risk, but Brayden has never been one to back down from a challenge. No complaints or excuses 7th, 1st, 1st and 4th plus being one of the smallest in 126 he did a great job and as his father could not ask for anything more. We will be looking to the future and getting a great education thanks to this sport and who knows maybe an NAIA National title along the way.
Congrats to everyone that won and those that did not keep working hard and you just might find yourself under the lights. To all the Seniors it's been one hell of a journey. Most of you we have wrestled with or against since elementary and though those battles made some great friends or dare i say family. 
Again Thank you Indiana for giving my son a sport with the best fans and competitors.

Madison Grant gets their first ever qualifier at Heavyweight 

In my opinion, the regional / semistate / state sites with 4 mats should assign mats based on the bracket. Then if 1 mat finishes early while the others are 2 or 3 behind, then you move a few of the big boys' matches to that mat. It's probably easier for the wrestlers to know which mat they will be on & just focus on where they're at. Plus, parents can be prepared & don't have to scamper all over the gym to get a good view & take pics.

Congratulations Adams Central! 1st Regional title in 30 years...what a season Coach Currie and the AC boys have had. 
1a Team State champs, Sectional Champs, Regional Champs, and the season isn't over yet!

Sorry to hear that brother.  Something our Head Coach said that has really helped him is the “Dashboard” on his IHSAA account.  It will give you the weight your wrestlers can legally be at week to week.  This may be something you can look into for yourself (with Head Coach if applicable) moving forward.  Genuinely hope your son still finds success at 145 man.

Yeah it was a mess.  The kid actually tried choking him 5 times. At that particular time my son said he blacked out for a second he don’t remember any of that. It was pretty sad that parents from other schools was yelling at the ref and that kid. When we was in the bleachers and can see his face changing colors but the ref doesn’t notice it is a big problem not to mention everyone in that area was yelling at him trying to get his attention. Then he punched him. Some guy that we don’t even know said he would’ve crossed faced that kids nose off if it was him.  
Yes he wrestled his next match it was his last match of the day. He said he felt fine just had a headache and a black eye. 
My son does wrestle year round and plays football. 
Yes i agree most refs do a really good job. I’m not sure what was going on with this ref we’ve had him many of times and never had any issues that I can recall.

Hey guys...i just got word our 170 pound wrestler from Winchester lost his mom to cancer. Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers as he goes through this difficult time. 

I just wanted to thank New Castle for a nice invitational yesterday. The field house is awesome!  Had some good competition. Most of our boys don’t get very many good matches till sectionals and on up it was nice to see them working harder for it
