  1. I know Shenandoah has 3 in the finals Pugsley 145 Lohrey 160 and Allred 195.
  2. I checked during round 2, and they didn’t have the right brackets up and they had none filled out.
  3. They may not officially call it seeds, but if you look at the brackets, it’s obvious that it is seeded in some way.
  4. I’ve been told by a good source that he just can’t make 160. He is the 3 seed at 170 and should have some good matches tomorrow with Mahan and the Valpo kid.
  5. Yes Parking is terrible. I will be glad to post updates if anyone is looking at anyone/any matches in particular or even brackets... although some of these brackets have changed 3 times since the weigh ins.
  6. Thanks for the info. I just saw he was ranked as a 160lber.
  7. Shenandoah will be there which has Allred #1 at 195, Lohrey #4 at 160, and Pugsley #11 at 145. I believe #3 At 160 Coffman of Union County will be there so a good possibility of #3 vs #4 at 160.
  8. Interesting at 152 that Noehre is ranked ahead of Lohrey after losing to him 3 times last year. Doesn’t really matter, Lohrey is wrestling and staying at 160 (which was his Qualifying weight for Fargo).
  9. I say this in a general sense, but if you lift in the off season and then do not during the season, you WILL lose strength and the benefits of the off season training. Just got to be sure to keep weight off. I believe what Perseverance mentioned he is doing with Silas is the way to go.
  10. Semistate at the Fieldhouse is a great event! Good luck to you and any of your boys.
  11. Just curious, Not trying to take anything away from him, going undefeated through regional is impressive anywhere, but has he wrestled any state ranked kids? He didn’t have any of his wins posted?
  12. I will be shocked if Ball beats any of those other 3 listed with him at 145. Feel free to tell me to eat crow if it happens, but that class is stacked at this semistate. Ball does have a great draw though to advance. Lohrey has pinned Ball’s potential 2nd round opponent (Humbert 41-3) twice with ease.
  13. Without a doubt. For the people that aren’t familiar with him, they will be.
  14. Just a side note at 126, Phillips either broke his arm or dislocated his elbow in regional (it was pretty gruesome). I don’t know his status but I would be shocked if he wrestles Saturday and wish him a speedy recovery.
  15. 5 of the top 10 in NC next weekend. That should be a good one.
  16. I am curious and this is open to anyone who knows the answer here..Of the states that have class, do elite wrestlers get an opportunity to wrestle “up” similar to elite teams do in some class sports here in Indiana when they meet the success criteria to be moved up ?
  17. Thank you for bringing relevant information and having points here. As someone who is truly interested in the topic and hearing pros and cons for it, it is much appreciated.
  18. You have avoided every question I have asked and to try to say I didn’t answer your question which I have twice now. I’ve addressed the advantages from a wrestler’s point of view, and the advantages from a fans perspective (which you stated you don’t care about, and is ironic because without fans this forum or even website for that matter doesn’t exist). I’ve actually stated what I didn’t know as well. You have brought “everyone else is doing it” and the exception to to the rule. You have stated nothing but generalizations with no points behind them. There may be valid points to the argument for class, but it’s obvious they aren’t coming from you. Good try on the redirect, but I’m sure everyone else picked up on that too. You do a lot of good work here, but since your more interested in proclaiming yourself right, instead of actually proving it to everyone who is actually interested in the topic, there is no Discussion to be had here with you.
  19. I’m always up for a good debate so I’ll start here. 1. You rebuffed my intital post that states my point as “I would want to see the best wrestlers in the state competing in the state finals”with “everyone else does it”. 2. You answered my 2nd question with a question. (That doesn’t make for much of a debate). 3. I’ll state my point again. Again As a fan, I would want to see the best wrestlers compete in the states largest event. Why wouldn’t you as a fan? If I’m a wrestler and have an half ounce of competiveness, I want to beat the best. You think Mason Parris would be happy showing everyone is the best 2A wrestler in Indiana? That trophy would mean nothing to him. I can’t say I know the monetary variances, but if it’s about the kids and about the fans that pay to go to events, I have stated why they both benefit from it. It essentially hands out more trophies, which is barely a step above participation trophies. I say all this coming from a 1A school. Feel free to address my previous questions and points beyond “everyone else is doing it” along with answering the questions you posed from your point of view. I am actually very curious to hearing your points. Have you ever polled coaches, administrators, or athletic directors on their feelings on the subject? I’m not saying I know everything, but if you truly want to get other points of view on the subject and have a debate (which I believe is the purpose of the forum) then let’s do better. If not, I’ve at least stated my points.
  20. So you’re saying there is no argument against it?
  21. Although you accumulate points as a team, lets be honest, wrestling is an individual sport. I don’t believe there would be a reason to classify individuals. You want the best wrestlers period wrestling in the state finals and that’s truly what we get now.
  22. Obviously Eric I have become a fan of Silas in watching him for the last several years. The most amazing thing to me, is how young he is for his class. Being 14 years old last year beating State finalist at 170 is remarkable. He has earned the respect that I always give to him. Will be fun to watch his career unfold over the next few years. Also, it always interesting to hear some background on the some the wrestlers that most of us only know on paper.
  23. Since we are talking future locks as well, I believe that Walton (182) with have his hands full with Allred (current #3). He is a Soph who as a freshmen last year walked into the ticket round at 170 at around 45-0 and lost 7-6. He was injured to start the year this year from football , but has since not been challenged, and tech-falled #8 20-2. Also was a Fargo all American this past summer. I haven’t seen Walton wrestle, so I’m not making a prediction, but if Allred were to beat him this year you could be looking at a future lock for the next 2 Years.
  24. Ya that makes sense. Brackets are exactly as they should be, but that’s how it is stated in the auto seeds. Thanks
