  1. Streaming on ESPN3. If you have ESPN in your cable package then you get ESPN3 included. Here is the Thursday schedule, for example: https://www.espn.com/watch/schedule/_/type/upcoming/channel/3e99c57a-516c-385d-9c22-2e40aebc7129/startDate/20210318
  2. That is interesting. J. Ross from wrestlestat is putting out results predictions based on their algo and he agrees with you. He has Lee against Demas in the finals. He has Demas upsetting Wilson in the quarters and Eierman in the semis. On the other side he has Hart upsetting Rivera in the quarters. Based on Hart's performance in the MAC championships, that may be a bridge too far.
  3. I don't think there is any doubt that they leaned heavily on the asterisk this year (subjective criteria). If you went purely by the matrix used in the past (minus RPI) you would have Eierman #1, Wilson #2, Demas #3, Lee #4 and Rivera #5, Parker #6 a d Red #7 per guys like Wrestling Nomad, who actually does the math. So while they didn't do Red any favors, they certainly help Eierman by moving both Lee and Rivera to the other side of the bracket.
  4. Red has to feel a little hard done by. His only three loses are to the 1 and 3 seeds. With no non-conference wrestling this year he had no chance to increase his win percentage by beating up on other conferences. I understand why he is the 8 seed, but he is not the eighth best in that weight.
  5. Some props for Chad Red this year. His only two loses to guys who either are or were ranked #1. In years past he had mediocre to poor regular seasons and then performed to his abilities in the tournaments (some want to view this is turning it up, I view it as getting to expectations). This year there was no need rally from a poor season. I think this will be his best NCAA tourney yet.
  6. Double silly. One guy, one time in the last two years.
  7. Red got a take down in the first on a double leg. But then he tried three inside singles. First time Eierman used it to try and tie up a cradle, stalemate. Second time Eierman gets the cradle and almost to pin before Red is able to wiggle out, 4 points for Eierman. Third time Eierman works for the cradle and gets behind instead, 2 more for Eierman. I stick with my original statement. If you can get Red to avoid attempting the inside single against the guy who invites the inside single so he can cradle you up, then that would go a long way toward Red pulling the upset. If he keeps shooting that inside single on Eierman I just don't see how he can win.
  8. If you have a way to stop Red from attempting a head inside single against Eierman, please share it with him.
  9. He is ranked #2 in the latest coaches poll, so your opinion may be too humble.
  10. PSU v Maryland last night Nick Lee with the efficient 14-2 demolition of Danny Bertoni Joe Lee with the 3rd period pin of Jonathan Spadafora. Lee was leading 16-3 with riding time locked and the ref holding back points at the time.
  11. PSU at Michigan No Stevan Micic again for Michigan. Nick Lee "held" to a decision over Drew Mattin. Mattin in reverse so hard in the third period trying to avoid the major that he gets called for the rare stall while in neutral. Joe Lee struggles to get off bottom in the third to lose 4-1. A lot more action than scoring. Mason Parris too athletic and strong for Seth Nevills takes it 12-2.
  12. Good speculation. With a 17 day individual quarantine imposed by the Big 10 we are just 5 days from the point where a new positive can return in time for the conference tournament.
  13. Rumor mill says it won't happen. Listening to Willie Saylor's podcast today he says sources tell him PSU vs Michigan and MSU this weekend won't happen. No idea the quality of these sources nor did Willie state a reason.
  14. https://gopsusports.com/watch/?Archive=6557&type=Archive Not sure who that first guy they interviewed is or what makes him think he is an authority, but the good stuff starts around 13:00.
  15. Rumors that PSU may wrestle Sunday at Michigan. If so, all kinds of Indiana angles in that one.
  16. Obviously not a lot of data here, but Mason Parris starts out in the number three slot while Nick Lee is at number six. Rank Name School Weight Year Record Number Of Pins Bonus Rate Dominance Score 1 Spencer Lee Iowa 125 SR 3-0 3 100% 6 2 Gable Steveson Minnesota 285 JR 6-0 1 100% 5 3 Mason Parris Michigan 285 JR 3-0 2 100% 5.33 4 Hayden Hidlay NC State 157 SR 6-0 2 83% 4.83 5 Logan Massa Michigan 174 SR 3-0 1 100% 4.67 6 Nick Lee Penn State 141 SR 2-0 0 100% 4.5 7 David Carr Iowa State 157 SO 8-0 2 75% 4.63 8 Tanner Sloan South Dakota State 197 SO 10-0 3 90% 5 9 Mekhi Lewis Virginia Tech 165 SO 7-0 1 71% 4.29 10 Keegan O'Toole Missouri 165 FR 8-0 3 75% 4.88
  17. And Tom Brands tests positive for COVID (though asymptomatic) and will miss their next two scheduled competitions.
  18. PSU vs Wisconsin happened this afternoon. Nick Lee kept doing Nick Lee things. After a quick takedown and escape, Lee gets another quick takedown. Ahead 4-1, he exposes the back three times for 4 a pop to end it 16-1 in the first. Joe Lee got a quick takedown and escape and then another quick takedown. Stop me if you've heard this. Lee only gets 2 near fall before the escape. Another quick takedown is followed by 4 more near fall and the first period ends 12-2. It got a lot slower after that with Lee getting ridden for the whole third period and it ends 12-3 Lee.
  19. Joe Lee and Lucas Davison have a mean streak on the mat. Fun to see.
  20. Pretty good day for those Hoosiers. Taking PSU to the brink and coming away with the win over NU. Well done.
  21. More on tiers: Tier 1: This is the highest exposure tier and consists of individuals for whom physical distancing and face coverings are not possible or effective during athletic training or competition. Examples of relevant individuals include student-athletes, coaches, athletic trainers and physical therapists, medical staff, equipment staff and officials. Tier 2: This is a moderate exposure tier and consists of individuals who come into close contact with Tier 1 individuals but can reasonably maintain physical distance and use face coverings. Examples of relevant individuals include certain team staff (e.g., executives) and certain operational staff (e.g., security, event staff and league staff). Tier 3: This is the lowest exposure tier and includes individuals who provide event services but do not come into close contact with Tier 1 individuals (and should this occur, would be reclassified into Tier 2). Examples of relevant individuals include certain operational staff (e.g., housekeeping, catering, sanitation and transportation) and media/broadcast.
