  7. We are probably 85% drill to 15% live. The kids are not happy with just that amount of live, but deal. If we tried no live, I agree we would have mutiny.
  8. i like the 4 point near fall, also like college out of bounds. The changes would make things more interesting. Another benefit, in my opinion, would be that a casual fan could watch a college match and a high school match and not be confused about the differences. The NCAA's had crazy amount of people watching and we are all trying to grow our sport. The fans would understand more, and our kids that want to wrestle at the collegiate level would be prepared for it better.
  9. Chris Wilkerson finished 4th at 132 and was not a SSQ
  10. Very bad deal about Fair, the match with Brady would have been good. Rose will place and go to state again. No disrespect to any other kid, but Rose is legit, a returning qualifier, and got a pretty good draw for a 4 seed.
  11. I would be interested to be able to see the seeding criteria now, locked out on track, and just see what the seeds would be if used total head to head wins of kids in bracket. Does not change anything now, but be curious and be interesting to look at.
  12. Coaching at a 3A non power school, it is very hard to get kids out to start with. Then if we wrestle a JV team from a top 10% school it makes it harder when you get beat. I am not sure there is a true great way to fix it. We all want the numbers to go in the other direction, so convos like this one are a good start. I also know that some coaches will throw out a full JV against our 6-8 exhibition matches before a varsity dual and show it as a "JV win". You took 6-8 forfeits, not sure when that became the norm either. Our JV kids all ended up with at least 15 matches competing in just JV invites or finding matches at varsity duals and invites.
  13. I was asked in seeding meeting last year the weight of one of my wrestlers two weeks earlier. The 1.5% is per week is what I was to understand.
  14. Peyton Wuerch, Heavyweight at Mt Vernon (Fortville), 22-0
  15. in the early season, we will wrestle all close weight classes per week. If a wrestler gets pinned, he has to wait long time for another shot. The end of our season is conference, senior night and then sectionals. There are no wrestle offs the last two and half weeks. This may change as the team grows and there is more competition or kids wanting to go up or down.
