Iowa state finals on ESPN 3 today and tomorrow

They have class wrestling and wrestlebacks? Oh the horror. -
The irony of it was that the forfeit went to an alternate.

The kid whose draw didn't get screwed up has a win over Bryce this year. Not to be rude but state berths need to be earned.

Weight classes get reduced every weekend from sectionals to state. Double the numbers of kids still in the tourney series. How hard is it to see that there would be 32 state qualifiers rather than 16? And what evidence is there to support a drop in fan levels? Check the gate numbers for surrounding states with class wrestling. I know Ohio isn't hurting any.

Two classes means double the number of participation at the state series. Math much bro?

How do you lose fans when participation level increases? Mom and dad gonna skip juniors match because it is classed?

Add Connor Knapp to that group. Uncommitted as far as I know.

How can someone be the true state champ without wrestlebacks? Look at the ticket rounds this year. The best 16 are not at the tournament.

J Jaggers from Chanel and Lester is from CVCA... Lol The Potokar brothers from Richmond Heights in the 80's. Both all-americans at tOSU.

There are a lot of very good small schools in Ohio. Delta,Bedford Channel,CVCA and Applecreek Waynedale to name a few. All of them have full lineups most every year.

The stieber brothers never had a full team. One year Logan told me that they had 10 kids. Four of them state champs.

Knapp wrestled Gayfield 8 times in three years. Last year at regional,semistate and state.

If single class and no wrestlebacks are considered a gift, what would punishment be like? Yes, over 82,000 thru the gate over a three day, four session tourney. Reading and comprehension are fundamental. Over 11,000 for the first session Thursday afternoon. More than indiana Saturday night finals.

Over 82,000 thru the gate at the ohio state tourney this weekend. Watered down class wrestling is the death knell for our sport. Ruined I tell you... Three days of useless wrestlebacks.

Apparently the bylaws can be adjusted to suit individual needs. Last year the blue team didn't invite a 4th placer and put a 5th placer in the slot. The 5th placer didn't make weight so he was replaced by a ssq and moved up a weight class. Good luck telling parents what team their kids can or cannot wrestle for. Might as well start with me as a test case. My kid is a junior and his invite was for the IN-IL all star dual. Nothing for scholastic duals.
