Time for the obligatory post, how many Stand Out wrestlers are also competing for a high school football state title?

With teams like Center Grove and EMD there's bound to be a few. Pretty sure someone on here already said Whiteland had several wrestlers on it.

Ps. How many state titles does Goebel have, is he the winningest High School coach ever yet?

Pretty sure it's 14 IHSAA championships. 12 in wrestling, and 2 in football.

I think the question was big December wins.....

Man I've thought about this for days and can't remember names but at Mooresville around 2012 or 2013 an unraked kid from Evansville Central, not Kemper or Kelley, hit a nasty mixer on a #1 ranked kid from Yorktown and pinned him.

That was a big December win, I'm not sure he qualified for state but upsets of that magnitude don't come along that often in wrestling.

Austin Chamberlain. I believe it was over Hiestand?

  3. Tristan Macri showed great sportsmanship after Brendon Kelley won in the finals:  Tristan came up to Brendon and said, "I want to be the first wrestler to congratulate you."  He also said some other very encouraging words, but I'll let that stay between the boys.  Since they wrestled in the semis it took me back to see him be the first to congratulate Brendon. You're great competitor and a class act, young man.  The IHSAA needs more student athletes like you.  Best of luck in the future!
