  1. If you pulled back the bleachers on the end you could possibly get 8 mats max in there... I am not even sure what type of condition that place is in anymore....

Unfortunately, the Wigwam isn't in good enough condition to host this or much of anything now. It hasn't been maintained very well if at all for years. Not sure it would be big enough anyway. USAW Central Regionals was hosted there once, I think in 2003 and had to put mats in the balcony end opposite the stage.

  2. Thoughts? Glad it's not me trying to do it. Always tough and maybe just me, but this year seems very challenging. I was patiently waiting after Y2's teaser tweet last night :-). Thanks for the update and all the time and effort!

  3. And I say Bull Crap . Why has Warren been #1 all year ? Because they have 9 ranked kids . Do you see any teams  with 3-4 ranked kids beating Warren ? No you don't , so number of ranked kids does have a lot to do with how strong a team is . When Brownsburg's unranked kids are beating and or competing well with highly ranked kids from both Perry Meridian and Warren Central , that tells me they should be ranked . I'll bet when the new state rankings come out Brownsburg will have 2-3 more guys ranked , bringing their total to 8-9 ranked .

Say what you want, your logic of saying more ranked wrestlers makes a better team in a dual format is flawed. It's how teams match up and if rankings won matches, we wouldn't need to wrestle. How many times have there been upsets at team state that impacted the winner? Nearly every year. Like i said, the seedlings appeared to have been very accurate and well, nuff said. I do agree that there will likely be more Brownsburg kids ranked or at least on the watch list if not already.

  4. And if the Individual Rankings were correct , everyone would of known Brownsburg is a top team . Lets be honest , they have at least 10 kids that should be ranked .

Let's be honest, we would all love to see your correct individual rankings. Remember, this is a TEAM event and well, match-ups win not individual rankings. I think the seeds demonstrated Brownsburg was a top team, some didn't believe so until today.

Congrats to all 3 championship teams!

  5. Thanks. The 138 finals match between Flood and Klettheimer was worth the pice of admission alone. 4-3, late takedown by Flood and near escape by Klettheimer as time expired, close and competitive match.

Will never understand why some coaches would not allow a change to a bracket with only 3 wrestlers in it. Why not add one to 182 and get a few more matches for the wrestlers? I have an idea, but how is that good for the sport?

  6. Couldnt help but notice that Red was bumped up to 145 for a ff instead of wrestling at 132 against Melloh who also received a ff. Did that come back to bite NP, who ended up losing by 1. I'm sure Red would have probably won that match, this would have given NP the team victory over Cathedral. Wonder what the reason behind this was?

Can't bump up two weight classes. Red had to weigh in at 132.1 at a minimum to go 145.

  7. To be fair, he nor his son are there for your enjoyment. They did what was best for them and their team. From my understanding his son was banged up with an existing injury, they used common sense, which is not as common as it should be and decided they'd forgo the beating from Micic and try to win the next match that they had a realistic shot of winning. I have no problem with this. You clearly have an ax to grind, which is fine, I'm just not judging the guy based on a strategic decision. As his coach he has to do what's best for his wrestler.

Yes they did what they thought was best for them, similar to their earlier semi-state shuffle.

  8. Really, then how did a 106 wrestle for Lawerence North as a freshman, Pendleton Heights as a sophomore and Hamilton Heights as a junior? What about many other transfers where eligibility is not lost? Because schools sign the release or is it inconsistency? Doesn't sound like the rules could be known. If a family has a job change or any other life change where getting the student to and from school is no longer possible, for example, that student should not be eligible to play sports? Even at the school district where they live and now attend? I doubt most coaches are in favor of inconsistently applied "rules" or the current disconnect between DoE and IHSAA on these issues.

  9. There certainly is much more to these IHSAA cases than what meets the eye. The rules being followed are the IHSAA's rules (not Yorktown's rules). The IHSAA held hearings where the affected parties could explain their situation and present their cases in a personal, face to face setting. The IHSAA appointed "hearing committee" made their ruling on these cases. Yorktown did not make the final ruling on these cases.

It certainly is easy to pass judgement from afar. I can already see, and read, numerous errors, omissions, and false information that is being passed along for public judgment. As most people are aware, there are always two sides to every story.

Yes there is much more to the story. Those who follow wrestling in central and east central Indiana know the history. I always thought there were three sides to a story, yours, theirs, and the right one.

Question is why Yorktown wouldn't sign off for a kid going to the school district he always lived in? Especially considering all the transfers and "move ins" Yorktown has had over the years. And yes, I realize it's a rhetorical question.

  10. I don't see how this helps anybody, situation or the sport and too bad the IHSAA can't see that. Course nothing should surprise me after seeing them come out of the stands several years ago at the NC semi-state and overrule the referees.

How'd you like to be an excited JV wrestler only to see them next in your bracket? (Assuming they are eligible at all).

Upon further review, apparently Berkibile has NO eligibility!!! This is not right and I am stunned...

  11. I don't understand why Terry Brands is allowed to continually run from the bench or bleachers, onto the mat, many times in front of the scorers table w/o consequence. He isn't even a coach sitting in the chairs. Not to mention many times he is basically taunting an opposing wrestler, team or coaches. I won't even go into the officiating of the Cornell match, but had to laugh when Cornell lost a team point for unsportsmanlike. Wow... Glad Mizzou then beat Iowa!
