  1. I'm gonna start selling WWBBD bracelets! You know, like the old WWJD fad from the 90's...since he's clearly the second coming!
  2. Lightweight Pre-Seeds Garcia 3 Fair 11 Mills 3 Cavanaugh 3 Bailey 7
  3. Good luck and safe travels to the wrestlers and families traveling to national events tomorrow. Maybe someone with better IT skills than I can format a list. #RepDaState...#OffSeasonGrind..or whatever.
  4. Apropos of nothing but on topic of this thread.... MYWAY (Michigan Association) is barring kids from their tournaments next year if they qualified for their state FK tourney and do not show up to wrestle it! Wonder how that's going over since their state tourney is Apr 1-3 the same time as some Natl tourneys? Maybe ISWA ain't so bad.....
  5. Thank you Brofessor..for the English lesson. Must be the #offseason.
  6. Sorry, Sig.... Guess that is quite the conundrum for ISWA and Mr. Hull and their mandate. They want to make the state better/more competitive in the styles but the best kids won't qualify for Team IN due to not competing at State and if they have tryouts for schoolboy/cadet teams then that tends to defeat the purpose of their mandate of growing attendance of the styles and the clubs. If they have tryouts for Schoolboy duals then they face the wrath of those that followed their rules and paid their fees and demand Little Johnny be on Team IN. Who do you think they'll listen too? Strange that the Juniors for Team IN Natl Duals are handpicked the past 2 years but Juniors still have to go thru this 2 event rule if they want to qualify for Fargo? I'm sure it will all work out for the best...or not! PS...Yes, I did email ISWA last year but did not call or attend a meeting. The email said all I needed to hear..and was very similar to the response Sig got.
  7. Not sure which thread to post this inquiry to... Can someone who might have went thru it last year explain the waiver process? I can't seem to find the policy/procedure on the ISWA site. I'm assuming a medical procedure would qualify but have no idea how or what needs to be filled in or what forms need to be produced. Thanks in advance.
  8. "..four time Nebraska champion." LOL they can't even type Indiana as it relates to wrestling...bulletin board material!
  9. #TheUnaffiliated!...overtaking #TheCounty...until #TheCounty incorporates #daIllinois.
  10. Jr 120 has at least 6 SQ and placers as well. Be interesting to see how those classes shake out next year.
  11. Over 2100 entrants. Seems like a nice increase from last year? #HashTagsWork....who knew?
  12. Congrats and welcome Rocco Caprino! Let's send some baby gift ideas..I'll start. A cool N&N Heavy Hands Trained onesy signed by the MajorGeneral.
  13. Great idea. It can be like the old CNN Point/Counterpoint...and we could use some #SweetHashTags to make it fun!!!!
  14. I tend to agree with Base on this one. They could also send their little form letter to the 226 ticket round non qualifiers and throw that big net out there hoping to get a couple fish. Granted they aren't all seniors but if we want little Johnny to feel success by by being a 1A SQ he might also have that same feeling getting a letter as a Jr/Soph ticket rounder. If the recruiting budget is limited, then "easy" would seem to be the way to go and easy doesn't mean bad or ineffective! If all these IN colleges want 20 more wrestlers to pay to go to their school, they aren't going to entice them by athletic grant in aid so making them feel wanted seems to be the way to go? So driving to a high level tourney and semistate in their little area doesn't seem out of the realm of reason.
  15. Beer Wrestling League...the BWL! Who's in? Fabio can throw the belt up for weekly challenges. The potential matchups and angles could rival the WWE. DaRegion vs #County/City/PainTrain in a tag team battle royale. AllYourBase vs Y2 in a Family SmackDown...you don't know my family! ClownBaby can be the stylin' and profiln' manager wheelin' to the ring in the Audi. The possibilities are endless. We could then grow the Senior divisions and bring all the little kiddies to expose them to the sport and grow it that way too!
  16. Then why don't they have them or recruit them? Because IN doesn't have class wrestling and they need a 1A SQ instead of all class ticket rounder? I'm confused. I'd recommend they send one of those Trine form letters out to let kids know they are interested because the argument is the kid needs to be wanted, which I agree with. If they would love more wrestlers, let it be known. Doesn't seem hard, and since there is little/no athletic $ for it, seems easy peasy.
  17. Regarding A....maybe we should be trying to grow the sport in the college ranks then? I'm all for growing the IN high school numbers as class proponents claim, but I'm confused because the argument seems to be it will lead to more college opportunities but point A leads me to believe it's a small, finite number so that argument is moot? I'm sure I'm missing something.
  18. Appears to be registered for 126 at Cliff Keen Iowa Nats next month.
  19. Great idea...thought about starting a separate topic thread for this. Also, for a D3, NAIA type kid...what works to attract interest? Is it on the parents to contact those schools? How much impact does the HS coach have? Does just sending videos to random schools have any effect? I don't want to hijack the thread but as the topic started wandering to opportunities at the next non D1 level I had the same thoughts.
  20. He's HighCrotchNinja..and he endorses his post! I'm kinda frightened I have the same self-liking post hang-up as JMILL...thank God I still #HateHashTags so I'm not overly concerned.
  21. He's RobLethal..and he endorses his post! To answer the question, yes.
  22. Let us not forget the dirty south in the 4th spot.
