  1. Not much of a dry spell. Jesse Mendez just became Indiana's 12th triple crown winner today competing in schoolboy division at 105 pounds. Side note, Jesse wrestled another Indiana kid(Zeke Seltzer in the freestyle finals). Must be the 2 qualifiers that got him over the hump.
  2. I had Schoeff's on there. He has been doing great things, which is why he is the only 6th grader on the list. Brady was killing it this year, sucks that he got hurt because I think he could have won a freestyle national title this month. I am going to make one more update at the end of this month and then start a new one with all the soon to be freshman off the list. @Using
  3. Congrats Vince. Vince has been doing private lessons with my son for the past year and he is an outstanding coach. Crown Point just picked up another amazing coach.
  4. No change at RWA. In a year I believe Jason Tsirtsis will be back helping Alex run things there.
  5. Congratulations to Bill and his family. Hawkins is a great coach and even better person. He is exactly what CP needs to set themselves up for years of success. Excited to see what he can do with this program.
  6. I updated the list after looking at central regional and Virginia Beach NHSCA duals, but it was hard because the NHSCA results were not recorded. I am going to look at schoolboy duals and freestyle and Greco nationals for the final rankings of the year. I will then start a new topic with for 2017/2018 season with all the 8th graders out of the rankings. This should open 22 spots. First big tournament of the year will be the grand river rumble duals.
  7. Angel Escobedo coming in and making things happen. Congrats Michael.
  8. I have seen almost all of these kids wrestle at dual meets over the years so I am familiar with most of them. I entered some of their accomplishments to justify why I placed them where I did. Winning or placing high at USA Nationals, Tulsa, Super32, Preseason Nationals, or Ohio TOC are huge predictors of success. Either of the Virginia Beach Duals and Middle school national duals will tell a lot about a kid as well. As far as in state goes I looked at middle school state. Some kids have won a few age based tournaments, but have never placed or won Middle school state so I can't add them to the list. I also tried not to add any 6th or 7th graders unless they won middle school state or if I believe they can beat the 8th graders at their weight. Someone asked for a list so I put this together for fun. I just really enjoy going through track and floarena and looking at results. Feel free to inbox me if you think I am overlooking someone.
  9. Yes. I look at everything. Nothing really jumped out at me from those results. That weekend had so many events that it kinda of water down all the events that weekend. Freestyle will get looked at if there are any head to head results against kids. Plenty of kids out there doing great things, but in the end I am looking at the whole resume which is why some of these kids haven't jumped in the rankings.
  10. I updated the list including USA Nationals, NUWAY Nationals, Flo Nationals, and top performances at Heartland Duals. Ohio Tournament of Champions and NHSCA are coming up that could help rankings.
  11. Jesse is 13 years old and in 7th grade.
  12. Lots of kids in Indiana already do this. There are tournaments all over the country for kids to wrestle in and most of the academy's train all year long.
  13. Indiana was able to achieve their highest placement in years at the National Middle School Duals in Danville this past weekend taking 3rd place. Indiana United Blue went 6-1 losing their only dual to Ohio Black who won the whole thing. This loss came in pool play, so they were unable to compete for 2nd place. IKWF Gold finished second with a record of 5-2. Between the 2 teams that Indiana sent, there was 10 All Americans and 1 OW from this group. ALL AMERICANS Cheaney Schoeff(85) 6-1 *only a 6th grader Gavinn Alstott(95) 7-0 Stephan Roberson(95) 6-1 Jesse Mendez(102) 7-0 *Outstanding Wrestler awarded Cole Ross(117) 6-0 Blake Boarman(125) 6-1 Ty Lehman(132) 6-1 Brock Ellis(140) 7-0 Johnny parker(140) 6-1 Evan Bates(150) 6-1
  14. There was talk that a tab will be added in the ranking section for the top 25 youth wrestlers. I think it is a good thing for kids to strive for. Most state sites have something similar. What do you say Y2 are we going to get this in the works?
  15. Update on 3/29/2017. Middle School National Duals and NHSCA was this past weekend. USA Nationals, Heartland Duals, and Tournament of Champions in Ohio are all coming up.
  16. First RTC my kid has attended and it was awesome. Cosgrove did a great job and the partners in the room really challenged my kid. He will definitely be going to more of these. Thanks Hobart for hosting.
  17. With ISWA state concluding this week I updated my list. 6 Cadet champs and 8 Schoolboy champs coming from this list. Big time tournaments for Boarman and Mis. I am excited to see how the 8th graders on this list do next year.
  18. I have 114 for Chesterton if your only counting 1 per weight class. Goin and Lemley are both Chesterton as well as the rest of the kids. All those kids are from Chesterton.
  19. Mendez and Tuesch win their 2nd middle school title, Mendez keeps his hope for 3 titles alive.
  20. Chesterton MS scored 128. Goin and Lemley added with the rest of the Chesterton middle schoolers. Plus Ellis would most likely have been a state champ, but he broke his hand last week at McDonough Duals. He beat 2 top 50 Flo Wrestling junior high big board wrestlers at that dual. Chesterton High school is going to be good for a long time to come.
  21. I made an update to the top 25 since Middle School state was yesterday.
  22. Bold are champs and underlined names are runner ups. Even after a few last minute weight changes I was able to predict the first 12 weight classes pretty accurately. I wasn't even close on last 5 weight classes, but I chalk that up to not being able to predict where these kids weights were. These predictions were made before the wrestlers list was put out. Great job to all the wrestlers this weekend. Indiana has a bright future.
  23. They won't be controlling the team that goes to Danville this year.
