  1. OTR- Thanks for the preview. Very good rundown. Solid and loaded class for sure. Cosgrove, It's a great weight class for guys who like to grind. LOL. If you prefer quick, first period falls, probably not for you. 7 guys who've been to state and 3 who've placed. They look to be evenly spread throughout the regionals, so even the first round matches at EC will be very good. Even the lowly Logan Regional will be sending 3 SQs.
  2. Hmmm...so if you take away SS and State wins from Alex' total (If the set up was the same then as now) he would still have 203 wins. So a four year starter, who stays healthy, could be a .500 wrestler and still be in the 100 Win Club? That seems odd.
  3. What schools are at Western this Saturday?
  4. The Predicament is a nice site.
  5. Y2... I was simply referencing your earlier post. Many of your posts, such as that one, are very condescending. You think you and your arguments are fact based, and others are based on "emotion" and the "hard work" methodology. Your obvious implication is that you win the argument based on your facts trumping others emotions and methodologies. I believe emotion and the hard work methodology (as you put it) are just as valid a basis for the single class argument as your "facts" are for a two class system. I have not chosen a side in the debate yet, but I think very valid points are made by both sides.
  6. Something wrong with "emotion" and "work(ing) harder?" Many great things can come from both.
  7. Lots of bravado from a couple Logan Regional guys each year and that's all it is...chest thumping bravado...they never back it up. So predictable. Same posters each year claim Logan will send bunches to state. Never happens. Lol
  8. Surely you know a dual score between two teams is not necessarily indicative of the same two teams chances of success in a tourney format. Laf Jeff and Harrison have much more depth than the other eight or nine teams. NO CHANCE for anybody to win, except Laf Jeff or Harrison. Good luck though, to your buffalo.
  9. Champions: Laf Jeff.....5 Harrison...4 West Laf. 2 Ben Cen..2 Delphi......1 Harrison has more depth, so they'll win the team title.
  10. Is it a common practice for some coaches to inflate their wrestlers' records, for seeding purposes?
  11. Great post tskin! Thank you for making us aware of that blog. It sounds like Coach Ersland has a very good relationship with Jordan Burroughs!
  12. Thank you for the clarification Y2.
  13. I notice on Trackwrestling that Freestyle State isn't using line bracketing. Don't they normally use it for Freestyle and Greco?
  14. + 100 Grecoref. Might President Mitch Daniels use this opportunity to increase the wrestling budget and do what he does very well...fund raise? He has been to quite a few matches the last two years and likes to talk about what a great sport wrestling is to teach all the right life lessons.
  15. I'm new to Middle School State. Why do you think it's a joke?
  16. Registration closed tonight and they don't allow weight class changes and weigh-ins aren't until Sunday matside. Does anybody know if they post the brackets ahead of time, and if so when?
  17. Since registration closes tonight for Middle School State and no switching of weight classes is allowed...do they post the brackets ahead of Sunday?
  18. Y2 and Coach Peck, Thank you for the replies! When kids' tournaments are seeded, what criteria is used? Our school team just wrestles a school schedule and doesn't go to weekend tournaments. Some of their matches are exhibition matches against kids in different weight classes. Since this is a Middle School tournament, should our school send in the records of the kids for seeding? That's my last question.
  19. I know this is the High School Board...so I'm hoping some of you have been to Middle School State. Are last year's results posted anywhere? I've checked Trackwrestling, ISWA and the results page here and can't find anything about last year's tournament. I have never been there and would like to know if kids can go without their school team going? (our school is not taking the team) Also, is it like ISWA Folk and Freestyle State, where anybody with a coaches card can coach a kid? How many kids typically to a weight class? I may take a 220 pounder and a 100 pounder. Is it single or double elimination and is it seeded by the kids' school record? Thank you!
  20. What if we are just a high school and college wresting fan, with no particular affiliation? Why do we need a school affiliation?
  21. That team at Logan needs reported.
