  1. Well, we are seeing some things that we thought would happen and we can always make adjustments but we now have 102 girls in this tourney. When this tourney reaches the state next week we should have 8 girls in each bracket but a couple like 88lbs and HWT they have 3 in each. My idea from the beginning wasn't to exclude but include as may girls as possible. I am glad to see that we are filling up 182 and 195 and 220 and HWT that tells me some girls want a chance at this and I am glad for them. It has to start somewhere as anything does. We have worked hard to get here and really covered a lot of territory. We can always go to 7 weight classes but at this point I am glad we included any and every girl that had a dream to wrestle no matter what their weight was. Coach Myers IHSGW
  2. It is now time to go to track wrestling and sign your girls up for the regionals in your area. Go to track wrestling and go to events and look up IHSGW and log your girls on to the south or north regionals. If you are below I-70 you will register for the Franklin Community High School Regionals and if you are north of I-70 you will register for the Rochester High School Regionals. We have now for the last 3 months have sent out info to your ADs on this tourney and we just sent out info as well to all coaches that we could find emails for. If you have additional question's that I can answer email them to me at garymyers86@gmail.com. Coach Gary Myers Hamilton Heights.
  3. Yorktown did a fine job and Cathedral as well. I just happened to see more of their matches. I witnessed a lot of hard wrestling and a lot of young men and women we should all be proud of. On a side note, I want to send a lot of praise to Jennings County. Before the finals, my wrestler and our coaches, and a couple of wrestlers who weren't wrestling that day, decided to go into the Mooresville Wrestling Room with our Chaplain to say a final prayer before Riley White wrestled in his final match of the day. Jennings County wrestlers were warming up, jumping rope and drilling. When we started our prayer in the corner of the room, they all stopped what they were doing and stayed quiet until we finished the prayer. Who said wrestlers have no class? Also, during the National Anthem not a soul was moving, kneeling, or talking.Wrestlers are perceived as a harsh group, but character is never in question. I witnessed many things today that remind me why I have my own son wrestling. Jennings County you have my respect. Coach Myers Hamilton Heights

  17. Its funny you mentioned Blackford as I lost in the state finals to David Abbott from Blackford at 145lbs in 1982. So the book goes up 2002.1972 126lbs Carl Wilcox State Q. 1981 132lbs Benjamin Green 23-3 State Q. 1981 David Abbott 138lbs Jr 27-3 3rd place. 1982 David Abbott 145lbs. 29-1 Senior State Champion. 1984 138lbs Jr Ron Seiver 27-4 State Q. 1984 167lbs Ritchie Uggen 12-5 State Q. 1985 138lbs Ron Seiver Senior 24-3 State Q. 2000 189lbs Mike Kelsey 40-3 5th place Senior. This is all Blaclkford up until 2002. I can be reached at garymyers86@gmail.com I hope this helps.
  18. Look I said it when he was a freshman and I will say it again and again there isn't a better wrestler than Mason Parris.
