I was there and didn’t see him win that match
Ask Castle Superfan, Backtothemat. Sollars locked up a cradle and put Deters on his back for 3 seconds before he got out of it and no points were awarded. Either you’re blind too or don’t know ***potty mouth*** about wrestling if you didn’t see it or understand it. Everyone else saw it.

Saw Lane wrestle at Mater Dei over the holidays. Love his wrestling style and the way he carries himself. One of my favorite matches of the year so far was Lane against Cole Ross. Crazy good defensive scramble fest. Ross by one I think was the margin.
This article makes me that much more of a fan of his.
Lane is a Hammer!

“Hope DeSanto is not done for the year.“
DeSanto was jumping around, with no wrap or brace on his knee, during the 197 and 285 matches. His feelings might be hurt, but he’s just fine. -

That's this year. I'm looking for next year.
I believe it's Penn State's turn in 2021

That might depend on if Yianni is back at 141. Thought there might be a possibility (albeit slight) that Penn State could reset next year and have Nick redshirt and come back at 149 the following season.
That said, he's got a decent shot at winning it this year.Yianni coming back will have NOT prevent Nick from wrestling next year. Just the opposite is true. With Yianni back, Nick will definitely be at 141 next year.

I knew how, just find it weird that they'll both be seniors at the same time (unless Lee RS next year) and that it is possible for it to happen.
Nick will be the returning NCAA Champion at 141 next year. He won’t redshirt.

Thank you. Backs up what was already posted a pout those three 170s today.
Doug, did you think points were scored when Sollars cradled Deters and put him on his back for 2 1/2 - 3 seconds before Sollars lock was broken? Then the ref put them back on their feet with no points. I’ve watched the replay several times, a takedown and backs seems pretty clear to me.

I'd much rather Lee, Red, and Brayton Lee along with Parris all win championships in different weights. How cool would it be to see multiple NCAA champs from Indiana? Next year we could have Micic at 133, Nick Lee at 141, Chad Red...gets bigger 149, Brayton Lee at 157, and then Davison and Parris up top.
I wouldn't leave Joe Lee out of the mix next year! He's a BEAST!

4 high school AA's: Joe Walker 3rd, Mendez and Bates 5th, Calhoun 7th
Most notable DNP was probably Matt Lee. Mendez lost two tight ones as the #1 seed in a weight with something like 13 nationally ranked guys, but he also took out the #2 along the way.
Matt lost to the guys that got 3rd and 4th. He was right there.

Wouldn’t surprise me due to both big brothers are there. But then again, I don’t think he’s PSU caliber.
That’s a ridiculous statement. He’s National top 10 in his weight class with a huge upside. Any top wrestling program would love to have him.

Yep. You are correct. Should it have been called?
I think absolutely it should have been.

Did anyone else think there was leverage gained at the end by Suriano grabbing Fix’s headgear to get out from bottom. I understand it would have swayed the match the other way. But still.
Watch it again, Doug. I think Fix was going behind for the takedown and the win. The grabbing of his headgear prevented it.

Their next 2 matches won’t be as close as tonight. It took a few minutes for Nick to figure him out and then he dominated. Nick will dominate from start to finish at Big 10’s and NCAA’s.
