  1. Micic wins, he's pretty damn handsome, Justin Beiber hair and European look, how can anyone compete! Kidding, have never seen Nick Lee, maybe he wins. Damn it, I guess we'll have to wait until Saturday.
  2. You mean you'll produce a "qualifier" next year, because you were void of one this year.
  3. Honestly when I think of Harper, the only number I think about is 3 (state championships) and when I think about Tsirtsis I think about 4 (state championships). I don't know how many losses Harper had, but he was a great one and I do know how many Tsirtsis had because I followed him closely. Both all-time greats in my eyes.
  4. Y2, I know you're counting the Napules loss as a black eye, but the kid was a 2 time state qualifier, not a slouch by any stretch of the imagination. I will agree it was a shocking loss, but Napules had some talent.
  5. Some of us work, it's still mid week.
  6. Forget +1, I'm going x 1000000000000000000000000000000
  7. You see, I started rooting for the kid because you and Cosgrove had a little humble pie after he lost at both the regional and semi-state and stopped all your foolish posts, but then you put the target back on him with posts like this. Let the kid wrestle, his talents do all the talking, he's a good wrestler. He doesn't need his coaches pumping him up and putting the target on his back, you do him more harm than good. Silence is golden in this situation. For the record, I think he does have a shot at placing and shocking people, and I'm also not his coach.
  8. Agree that 70 was not impressive, although now that I rethink things, Osborn has an outside shot at being in the finals, again winning is another conversation, in my review of Saturday when it was fresh in my mind, I think I had him top 3. I think 60 was skewed because Kenny wrestled so poorly. I've seen him wrestle several times over the last few years and that was not his best on Saturday. If he gets it together I could add 60, but from what I saw Saturday, I'd leave him off too.
  9. I'm not sure how anyone can hate you for your predictions. I tend to agree with you that best case scenario is the Merrillville Semi-State gets 8 in the finals. How many of those 8 win, well that's a different story.
  10. That match or Petrov and Campbell are my two favorites in recent memory, however, neither or those matches were highly anticipated. I think they were highly entertaining but no one was talking about those matches as being instant classics. I think a lot of times the matches we least expect, end up being the best.
  11. I never would talk negatively about your or anyone else's child. You posed a question, I asked if it was answered. Period, end of story.
  12. Ha! Nice one, the state of PU and IU hoops is scary to say the least.
  13. So far I like my chances, especially with your thought process. I spelled and used most of my words correctly, I'm intelligent. You just summed up the problem with the U.S.
  14. Week=7 days Weak=Not strong or lacks strength My Prediction:In about a WEEK, we will find out if the Merrillville 132 pound weight class was truly WEAK.
  15. I'm not sure where you were seated, I'm assuming near the Portage contingent because where I was, which was across the gym from that fan base, I can honestly tell you, not a word was uttered that was offensive. I can tell you I heard some boos, and looks of disbelief, mine being one of them, but the filth you described was something I didn't hear. I only bring it up because I don't want the entire semi-state painted with a broad brush because of the actions of a small few.
  16. Hey! Was wondering if you were able to get your inquiry answered?
  17. Have you seen Micic wrestle live? I'm guessing not, so I don't want to read about what you think. I've seen Micic wrestle many times, but have never had the opportunity to see Lee, which is why I have yet to render an opinion on who I think will win or who the better wrestler is. It just makes me laugh when I read about all of the "knowledgable" wrestling fans giving an opinion about Micic when they in many cases have never seen him, or use last year's finals match as a reference point. If we are using one match to provide evidence to greatness, I'll counter with the fact that he dominated a wrestler that will be wrestling in the Dapper Dan en route to his first title. I will not make a prediction, but I will say Micic was very impressive yesterday and will be tough to beat next weekend. Should he be beaten, I'm sure he'll conduct himself with the same dignity I've come to see with him. He's been a true pleasure to watch and I will be rooting for him to win a 3rd title.
  18. If he gets to wrestle, he finishes top 8 in my opinion. I hated how his coaches went about hyping Black, but the kid is good.
  19. Merrillville Thoughts: 106: Reitz was head and shoulders better than the field today. Hildabrandt and Cummings were very impressive as well. I like Reitz's chances next weekend. 113: Crary and Garza show. Crary looked to be defeated for about 5 minutes and then comes on late with 2 slick takedowns. I like both of those two to place next weekend. 120: Most controversial weight of the day. Torres gets DQ'd on a questionable slam. I felt he followed him to the mat, but couldn't see if he had the arm pinned. Torres was up 4-1 at the time of the slam and was in total control of that match. Thought that Clay's coach could have shown a lot of class and done the right thing, but I suppose getting to state anyway he could super-seeded that. Sinkovics was impressive, not sure he has anything for Chad Red. Pleasantly surprised by Dembowski finishing second, nice kid, good family. I have to say that Black was impressive, wouldn't be surprised to see him win gold one day. 126: Thought it was a man versus boys today. Micic show and he was impressive against Davis. Have never seen Lee, but have heard a lot of good things, he better be ready should he get the opportunity because I don't think anyone beats Micic next weekend. Davis finishes 3rd, but will place top 5 IMO. 132: Weak all around. Charithers won, but could honestly see him losing on Friday. 138: Great wrestling all day at this weight. Hughes wins against a very game Couvicu. If they wrestle 30 more seconds, I'm confident Couvicu wins. Fuqua's career comes to an end, he was fun to watch for 4 years. 145: Forte was the best here, I can see Rentas placing top 8. Pleasant surprise of the day is Sebahar finishing 3rd, looked very good. Could see him top 8 with the right draw. 152: Macri and Schurg in the semis was the championship. Macri wins in OT, but gets all he could handle. I like both young men next weekend to place top 5. 160: Hughes wrestled poor all day, was still shocked that he lost to Mammolenti, especially after beating him early in the year. Should the real Kenny show up next week, I like his chances to place top 5. Mammolenti is top 8 for sure. 170: Bates wrestled out of his mind and finishes 2nd, good for him. Lots of upsets all day in this weight, Osborn is top 3 material next week for sure. 182: Jankowski, end of story here. Top 5 talent for sure. 195: Scott looked awesome all day and I was very impressed with Woods. I think both place and Kral has an outside chance. I think Scott finishes the highest, and could be in the finals. 220: Gelen Robinson show. It was him and the field was a distant second. 285: I thought Duvall would have something for Streck and I was wrong. Streck was pretty dominating all day. I like him in the final next weekend. Duvall is top 8 material as well.
  20. Where exactly would you have inserted the sarcasm? It doesn't make sense. You made a bad post, it's early in your posting career, it happens.
  21. Birge was the defending champ at 112 and lost to Bradbury from Portage in the ticket round at 119. Bradbury was put in that position because he was beat by Ramos who he lost to about 6 times that year. Bradbury had Ramos beat one of the final times and then got thrown to his back and pinned at the end of the match. Great rivalry.
  22. Jankowski was actually a runner-up as a junior. He lost to Tabor of Portage. He did end up beating Tabor during the team dual, unfortunately a week too late. Jankowski did go on to have a nice career at Purdue.
  23. It's an 8:30 central start time. If I remember correctly they open the doors at 8am, but that line starts to form well before that.
