  1. As the wrestlers wrestle on the mat the fans get to wrestle in the stands for there seat. Imagine also when you get kicked in the back by someone sitting behind you. The kids go home soar and so do the fans. All fun intended..
  2. Da Region. Usually a stampede in there. You will get run over if you dont move.
  3. I'm not sure who is going to win 189, but i will say one thing. I definitely will not count out Berry. I do not see anyone man handling him. He is very strong, he might not win, but it should be close. He is a very gifted athlete.
  4. I understand how people can be upset about the stoppage of time, when two kids are battling out. At the same-time if a kids needs medical attention so be it. I will say one thing anyone who wrestles hartman, better be ready to go off the whistle after he recovers from his asthma attack. He is really quick off the whistle, and usually scores a take down when he comes back from stoppage.
  5. How many times do you see a kid that is left for dead. A after thought, and out of nowhere the kid catches fire. The same goes for guys that have a solid year, and then out of nowhere they lay a goose egg. I know kids get caught every now and then, but it just amazes me from week to week, how resilent some of these kids are. One thing for sure, there is no guarantee when it comes to wrestling, especially in the post-season.
  6. I thought gacia and simpson was worth the price of admission. It was a heck of a match. Garcia showed a lot of character out there. The atmosphere was unbelievable.
  7. Wrestle backs would be nice, but at the same time. This is the time of year where you have to be on your "A" game. If you want to be guaranteed a good or decent draw, you have to take first at regionals. Through the years i've seen guys who get bad draws, great draws. Ive also seen guys that get upset. In those rounds you have to wrestle mistake free or you will have the whole summer to think about it. Training is the only way to get better. That is when you can seperate yourself from the pack. Believe me it is well worth it. Don't be good, be great, work hard. Wrestling is a brutal sport. As they say "survival of the fittest".. Good luck to all this weekend. If you got a bad draw, meaning you have someone tough. Here is a chance for you to a make a name for yourself. I think it is also called UPSET..
  8. 103 by far is the toughest. Any upsets here, you never know, but a lot of these kids have wrestled 3 or 4 times this year. They should know there tendacies. Lets see if any of them done there homework, but then again sometimes when your good your just good. Some quality wrestlers at 112 that wont get out either. Some tough draws for some kids, but that is the name of the game. Have to have no weaknesses or less than your opponent.
  9. Honestly i think it is to close to call, I've seen Crown Point and Mater Dei wrestle this year. They both are tough. If Mater Dei prevents, from giving up the big points, i see them winning. They match up pretty well against Crown Point. Its going to come down to who gets the most pins. If Mater Dei wrestles smart, I see them winning. Crown Point Studs, must take care of business or i see them losing. Points will be scarce, so that is where it will be won. Head to Head i see a very entertaining match, barring any bumps or moves, i just dont see that happening. Both these teams are pretty much solid through the line ups. Both teams do have some weaknesses, so i think they negate each other in some weight classes. Should be fun..
  10. May i say anyone who mentions individual names as you just did, and then say your not calling anyone out. It called an oxy moron. Your point is: CALLING OUT PEOPLE
  11. Big difference when you are a good team compared to a great team that is destroying all the competition or nearly all the competition. Good teams win and lose, but rarely win team state. At best average, there are a lot of good programs out there, that don't even come close right now. Hard to keep up. The writing is on the wall. Take it for what it is. The wrestling community as a whole all see it.
  12. I think this is why the sport is down. We need more wrestlers like Quiroga. Granted, he did not when state his senior year, but he sure did put on a show, beating everyone who came across his path. What good times it was to see wrestlers of that caliber, wrestling the best. Whether it was his decision or the coaches decision. The fans were happier than ever and the anticipation was unreal.. Coaches, wrestlers bring back the excitement. Why wait till State??
  13. I tell you one thing, when you get a chance to see good matches. You want to see them. Did those guys really have a chance against tsirtis or roach? I was looking forward to the Berry and Kral match which never materialized. Does not matter who bumps who or why. Someone said to be the best you have to beat the best. Call it what you want, but one thing for sure this is killing the sport, where kids or should i say coaches don't want wrestlers to have a loss on the records for seeding purposes. Eventually you have to face tough kids, why not see where you stand and work from there. Regular season means nothing, its all about the post-season.
  14. Crown Point wins by at least 2o. Does not look like there will be much of a contest. Those Bull Dogs are viscious. They take no prisoners. Smack you around, and leave you licking your chops..
  15. I agree, Remember, we want the best teams at these competitions. That is why the Al-Smith is such a great tournamet.
  16. Dumbest logic, then you missed the jist of the conversation. Things that we do not understand may seem dumb. Duely noted.
  17. Its called swing matches. Those matches will decide the victor. If merrillville wins those. They could win. If crown point wins the swing matches as last year meeting. The outcome will be the same.. Only time will tell. Better bring my heart monitor..
  18. You know what semi-state your at and know you wrestle the guy who finished at what weight class accordingly, from another semistate. No surprises, unless there are upsets. Thats the beauty of it. Let the wrestlers decide...
  19. I'm sorry did i say that, but thank you for speaking on my behalf. As i see, you must have been at the seeding, and must be very happy with the outcomes. You seem full of joy. Hey, its ok, be happy and confident with the decisions made. Don't be bias, i was not at the seeding, but from hereing your view point all went well. Happy, what is there to be happy or sad about. Wrestling is done and decided on the mat. Hence, coaches arguing for wrestlers, oh yeah wrestlers that are seeded is that necessary. Have we not seen enough wrestling to know better. Anybody, ranking guy, Karl, On the Rise, W2j. Something wrong with this logic. Since you say i represent merrillvile, who do you represent. I represent or should i say support REGION WRESTLERS.
  20. It will be a tough match for both schools. Its as intense as it gets. Throw the book out, when these two schools meet. All rivalries should be this intense. The outcome should be interesting. Interesting to see what weight they start at?
  21. All the kids that place will be good, but the ones that should finish higher won't, and the kids that should wrestle under the lights won't either. I guess wrestling for third is the same as wrestling for second. I think not. Its all about the lights. Good thing state is seeded accordingly, or we might have a repeat of this.
