Any thoughts on how this tourney ends up in each weight class? 1st, 2nd, 3rd...etc?
Also, curious to see how Perry and BSouth end up overall (understanding they're not in dual format).
Good luck to all.
Some pretty big changes in many weight classes. Not sure what to think of it overall. Many of the changes are deserved/correct, but not so sure about many others. Curious to see how the next week of wrestling pans out.
Wrestling is not easy, especially during the holidays. At times when others are relaxing, taking time off from the 'grind' of work, school, life, etc., wrestlers are still hard at it; with practice, competitions, weight control, etc.
We're upon another great season of wrestling...and with much more to come!!
Have a great Christmas and Holiday season!
Merry Christmas to all!
Seitzinger and Shaffer were on opposite sides of the bracket. Seitzinger wrestled Irick (5th at State last year @ 170) as well, 2-3 Irick. I don't remember Shaffer's score with Irick but saw I some of the match. Shaffer is good and will do well. Should definitely be given some ranking thought. I hear he's also a really good guy outside of wrestling as well.
Don't know all the other wrestlers mentioned in the quote, but some come to mind. Sampson (Northview) will do well. So will Chambers (Edgewood) and Clawson (Edgewood). I went to the the gym recently with Seitzinger and ran in to Clawson. He's working hard.
Seth Seitzinger (Bloomington South) is wrestling 160 again, not 170. Placed 4th at Disney duals after losing by 1 point to Florida multiple time state champ Cody Ross. Looking forward to his season!
Also, Zack Runyon(Bloomington South) is at 120 and may have been overlooked a bit. Sectional Champ. Regional Champ. Semi State Qualifier. Wrestled Anthony Schoettle (Center Grove) several times and was very close. Also very close with Aidan Kenny (Perry Meridian).
Yes, very pleased to see the pre-season rankings! Good work on the pre-season magazine. Can't wait to see how it all shakes out.
I'm real curious to see what weights many of the ranked wrestlers actually end up. Those fluctuations will be fun to watch for the next couple of months!
113 now. Assuming the next 3 weeks continue to pull in more wrestlers it should be a very good preseason tournament.
Some pretty big names are already registered. I hope even more decide to participate.
Never been...looking forward to it!
Too early for predictions, (given that more wrestlers will register), but I'm curious too hear everyone's thoughts when we get closer.
Perry, Penn, and Bloomington South all won their final matches!
Perry 1st
Penn 3rd
Bloomington South 5th
Great job to all ! Yorktown as well!
Indiana dominated the tourney.
Anyone have any info on the other Indiana teams, other than Perry and B South? I'm not there and am only getting Bloomington info from family. Would like to know how the rest are doing. The web results are very slow.
Bloomington South just beat Florida's Spring Hill 28-26 in the first round of the Championship rounds. Spring Hill is the reigning, and 2 time, 2A Florida team state champions.
Good job guys!
I noticed that too. But I think we've had too many teams there in the past. 13 or so?
This year we have a good amount of teams with excellent representation of some of our best...and they are doing a great job.
Bloomington South Purple team is undefeated, with several undefeated wrestlers! Good job B South! Going into Championship rounds tomorrow!
The Indiana teams are definitely representing at Disney Duals!
The matches I saw, from the actual refs (not from the volunteer refs...although I didn't see any wrong doing) were well done.
Speaking of which, I thought Mrs. Mosconi on mat 6 did especially well. Always had a smile, great sense of humor, was really good encouraging the kids and sportsmanship, and ultimately called very good matches.
