This evening as I was waiting for the last mat to be picked up I was doing some reflecting on the culmination of a great day. Just two short years ago we had 171 wrestlers on 4 mats and I thought it was a good day with solid numbers.  Never in my wildest dreams would I have thought that we would have 444 wrestlers in this short of time.

Talking to people in the school about the tournament last week they were amazed that 450 kids wanted to come to Garrett to wrestle and not to mention from 9 states!  Obviously they are oblivious to how much all the diehard wrestlers need to get their fix in September!

I want thank everyone that has supported this event the past two years and thank you for helping this grow into one amazing tournament.  I know there are quite a few wrestlers that have been to all three IHPOs and seen the growth firsthand.

Thanks again to all of our workers, great refs, great parents and most importantly all the wrestlers who put it on the line this weekend in one heck of a tough tournament.

The tournament was top notch and ran great.  Thank you to the people of Garrett for giving us somewhere " to get our fix" and for all your hard work that, not only went into putting this tournament on but also to keeping it running so well.  I have to admit I was a little worried when I saw the #s and figured we were in for a long day.  But my son had 48 kids in his bracket and we were out of there before 6.  So, thanks again for a job well done.

I would agree.  It is like a nice appetizer before the actual season starts.  Nice job on the tournament.  There was some great competition there.

Amazing that a little semi-state qualifier from Garrett put this one.  And one that got pinned by a Dekalb kid in 7 seconds to boot!

Hey he was a great little wrestler.  I think about him quite often and he is missed.  The tournament is great but what you do with the website far exceeds that.  Congrats and keep up the good work.

Those that can, do. That that can't, run tournaments. - To misquote an old adage.  That's why you only see me working tournaments. That and I'm old, fat, and out-of-shape.
