A Small Request from the Far Away Fans

Coaches:

This is just a small request from Indiana wrestling fans from all over the globe.  After all, there are a number of us who love to follow our old schools, friends who still coach, kids we once coached, conferences, big rivalries, etc...  There are many who have left Indiana for work, for families, are serving in the Middle East?you get the idea.

This year, please take a minute find an eager volunteer (parent, manager, assistant coach, wannabee assistant coach, sibling, etc?).  Give them a really cool title such as ?Varsity Online Presence Engineer? or ?Marketing Director of the Interwebs.?  Then, make it their mission to post good, complete results to this web site as soon as possible. Maybe check that they have an iPhone or Blackberry, and challenge them to get results up on the bus ride home.   Heck, if they are really efficient they could also email local media outlets and get your wrestler?s names in the paper.

Seriously, a number of threads mention growing our sport?s fan base- especially in the wake of losing team state.  A great way to start is to not make the fans wait and/or beg for complete event results.  If you host a tournament, please include teams scores and all place winners; dual meets necessitate individual results.  This is especially true if you are hosting a high profile event.  Trackwrestling a great tool for real time results, but is not the best when it comes to seeing the big picture.  Posting on this site allows us to see the entire state on one screen (so to speak).  Finally, please delegate this duty to someone as you already have way too much to do.

Simply stated, we want to celebrate your successes, cheer on our team, and at times, feel a connection to our home state.

Thanks in advance,

Matt S.

It's seems like 75% of the results posted online are Team A 45 Team B 24.  That is still more than the majority of teams post.

I would take that over "our team went 2-3 and Billy was champ at 145."  Team scores are at least a start.  Individuals when at all possible is even better.
