ISWA State question

There is no penalty if the wrestler doesn't make weight.  He/she just wrestle the weight class for which their weight qualifies them.  There is no opportunity to lose weight; however, so once you enter the room to weigh, that is it.

Is that a can of worms I hear??  We beat this topic to death last year, no intention of doing it again here;  there is no "official" check scale.  There were several people who brought their own and via "word of mouth", from kids who already weighed in, were told how the "official" scale compared.  Once they walk in the weigh-in room, it's over...it is what it is.

Exactly. Keep in mind that there are new people every year that might not know the ropes yet.  Same questions next year, different people.

Following check-in/registration wrestlers are to proceed immediately and directly to skin checks and weigh-ins.

So, arrive on weight and prepared to weigh-in, wrestlers will not be permitted to partake in any active weight loss messures on-site once weigh-ins begin at 6:30pm.

No access will be permitted to the official scales prior to the competitors official weigh-in, once the wrestlers enter the weigh-in room they will not be permitted to leave prior to being officially checked and weighed.

No check scales will be provided by the ISWA!

Wrestlers must weigh-in wearing a "competition" singlet and make the scratch weight of the weight classification no allowance will be given.

Wrestlers are NOT required to make the weight they list when they register for the event on trackwrestling.

In addition, only the wrestlers will be permitted into the weigh-in area; no coaches, parents, or escorts of any kind (other than a fellow wrestler who is also weighing in), unless requested by the weigh-master or physician/athletic trainer conducting skin checks for consultation.

There has been a check scale in the past and I can't believe there will not be one Friday.

To the best of my knowledge, the ISWA has never provided a check scale at Kids State Finals.
