MattM
Several former Indiana wrestlers are not doing to bad. However, I concur its disappointing to see the showing of both IU and PU this year.
GO BIG TEN
ARE Purdue and IU going to get it together in the next few years? I could be wrong but are they near the bottom five most years?
matts
ARE Purdue and IU going to get it together in the next few years? I could be wrong but are they near the bottom five most years? I agree IU has some issues that seem to plague them every year. The most obvious is mid and low level all Americans who do not progress or almost seem to digress by their senior year. Nonetheless they have also has a TON of positive achievements in the last few years: IU owned 125 for a while, continually putting wrestlers on the NCAA podium, etc... This year's Big 10 tourney is very disappointing- outside of Kinser, Prowess, and Young. Hopefully Prowess can win his last match and save the Hoosiers from losing to MSU too. To consistently crack the top six of the Big Ten is a huge feat for any program. For now, IU and Purdue are not going to beat Iowa, Penn State, and Minny. That leaves three spots, and if we consider that Ohio State, Michigan (they have had one bad year) and Wisconsin's history, one can see finishing in the top six in the Big Ten is a huge task. Oh, we have to add Nebraska to the mix next year. Right now it seems Purdue is on a upward tick from where they were a few years ago, and IU is slipping with their light weights with the loss of Coach Mena. Hopefully a year or two more experience and recruiting with Coach Dubuque (sp?) will get IU back on track. Don't forget they have a decent shot of three All-Americans this year which would be awesome.
