NorthEast Corner Conference **Brackets Posted**

To win this conference you need depth.  A team like 'Busco has the horses, but they don't have the depth.  They finished second last year with those horses, but were far behind Prairie Heights who had the depth.  Prairie Heights has some good wrestlers and some depth, but I don't think they have a 215 or heavyweight and that will hurt them.

Angola or West Noble looks to be the teams to beat this year simply based on depth.  Of course this tournament could be won in the seeding meeting by drawing forfeits or easy opponents in rat tail matches.

Now that Prairie Heights has beaten Angola do you feel differently about them being a favorite to win NECC?

The NECC is very even throughout and there is no team that is dominant.  Busco has some great individuals, but after their top guys they don't have much.  They will definitely score a lot of points, but probably won't get much help from their second tier guys.  To win this tournament you have to have a solid team top to bottom.  You will need to place 12 kids in the top 6 to win.  You don't necessarily need champs, but you need lots of kids to score points.  Angola topped Busco at the Westview Invite, so i think they will top Busco in another meet under tournament scoring.  Prairie Heights looks like they may be the team to beat now, but Angola won't go down easily.  It will take whatever team shows up on Saturday and wrestles the best.  Both teams need their second tier kids to step up and score points with pins and placements.

How will 103 be contested? Central Noble has that locked up. And 130 might be the deepest weight class but West Noble's kid has put in the time and had great practice partners. The title is his. Team title goes to Praire Heights anchored by there 12 pounder.
