C'mon Marsh.......NECC Super Duals
Oops. Yea kinda forgot to mention that didn't I!?
-
Who has dual meets this week, and what tournaments are taking place this weekend?
Any big team or individual matchups taking place?

Ski Club
Many wrestlers have quit over the last few years and join ski club. I believe they learn about skiing and snowboarding and then actually go a couple times during the winter. I have been told it hurts all winter sports at our school, not just wrestling.

Haha definitely not asking or begging for them. Wondering when the begging will begin

How soon before people start asking for the semi state rankings now!?

I hate when Mickey does that..

Probably force a teacher to do it.

Kenny Kern from Jimtown is having a good year so far. Nice article on him below:
-
Burroughs' takedown was more or less given to him with short time on the clock. He basically got worked.
yea the takedown was towards the end when the guy knew he could give it up and be ok. Not sure I would say he got worked though.
After watching his match before that I thought to myself something about him isn't right. He didn't really look himself at all the whole day.
-
I could see something like this happening at an NECC meet, especially with a couple father-son match-ups this year! Wouldn't surprise me if it happened at the seeding meeting either.
-
Burroughs was beat in the quarters 3-2. He had the only takedown.
Other guy scored on 2 push out points and a passivity...

Looks like he has a good lead as of now!

Congrats Matt, had the chance to coach against him last year at the Al Smith. Great kid, great attitude, and sounds like he is tremendous in the classroom. Good luck to you with your future.

The 2005 class would have to be in discussion. Headlined by Reece Humphrey, Angel Escobedo, and Matt Coughlin. All 3 had great college careers while Angel and Reece are both wrestling for USA. Scott Kelly went undefeated to win a title, Nick Corpe won a title with his one loss coming at team regionals if I remember right. Orrin Kleinhenz won without a loss, and Chris Kasten won a title with one loss. And then you have the big fellow, Lynn Panko, who celebrated an undefeated season at 215 with a backflip after the match.

I thought it was the best I have ever heard down there

Question is why are the people leaving? Lack of action or just cause it's getting late? Maybe if stalling was called more like the lighter weight classes, it would help? Never understood why all of a sudden stalling in the last 15-20 seconds is called and sometimes twice, yet that is how the match had been going for the previous 5:45. I am personally looking forward to the big boys this year! Hasn't always been the case though.
Everybody is ready to get a jump start on the 12 and 16 oz curls, that's why!
-
If they did not do it for Alex Tsirtsis why do it for Chad Red?
Heck they did not even do it for Lance Ellis.
The NCAA just started doing a couple years ago.. it didn't happen for Cael Sanderson either, but it adds some suspense to the night..
If someone can explain a better way to have a full packed house for the heavier guys, I will think about changing my mind.

That's always important...I'm pretty sure wrestlers shake hands more than any other sport. We shake at the face off, the captains at the center of the mat, before the match, after the match (with the opposing coach as well), and then after the dual. We shake too much IMO!!
Agreed!
