  1. "If I'm not mistaken they did show Tom Clark discussing the video with other officials before the final call was made. Maybe he would able to enlighten us on what was decided." - MATTM. ... If he was there maybe he could help us out with how they came up with the reds "1."
  2. Good question "MattM!" What do you say Tom Clark could you help us out on how the scoring went?!
  3. I'm glad to see that the state of Indiana's fans still know how to call a correct "2", now all we gotta do is help those head official's in USA Wrestling ;D Thanks for the input guys....keep em' coming!
  4. hmmm....i just don't see it, it doesn't look like a legitimate take down, but its not my call obviously the judges, i just know that the outside referee's agreed with the two for sara, and agreed again after the review...def not taking anything away from the other girl, she wrestled tough..I just don't see take down before the two, but that's just my two cents.
  5. Yes your right I apologize they did show it on the original cast, but then took it OFF the big ten network, my apology. If i am able to post it correct here is how it went, you tell me what you think?!
  6. Speaking of women's wrestling, did anyone see Sara Mcmann get screwed out of winning another US Open title? If not Youtube US Open 2010 Sara Mcmann The Clinch, possible the worst call I've ever seen in my life! Check it out and tell me what you think?! It doesn't show it all but apparently at first the reward Sara with two then, after a film review they still agree that its still two, as they are raising Sara's hand to declare her the winner the head official comes running over to the mat and signals to the ref not to raise Sara's hand, and to raise the other girls hand. The coaches demanded to know what the call was, and how they scored it, but the official wouldn't tell them, sounds political if you ask me?? (this is the story I was told by Sara herself, and her corner coach, Trent Goodale) ps they refused to show the match on Big Ten Network as well, and demanded that flow nor themat release it online either, luckily it was posted by a friend who was taping the match. pretty odd that USA Wrestling wouldn't want that match shown, while all the other finals matches were.
  7. Rodriguez pretty much dominated the entire match, Cody had some great offensive attacks, but there were only a few of them. Rodriguez had some amazing counter attacks.
  8. Great Question, I would love to know what happened as well friday night, Def a big upset.
  9. couldn't of said it any better VMI.
  10. The white Yorktown singlets are Def SICK! Like the pin stripes!
  11. Ah come on, you didn't sneak it in?! I know I did, it was way to expensive not to keep reusing! I figure it was a fair trade considering i bought a drink, chicken tenders and fries for like 12.50$ lol
  12. (Dual meet wise) if you think about it at face off(both coach and wrestler) SHAKE HANDS, coin toss SHAKE HANDS, before you wrestle SHAKE HANDS, after you wrestle SHAKE HANDS (then coaches hand) after meet SHAKE HANDS (with team and hand). That's a lot of unnecessary hand shaking lol. Four is good for me, (face off, before you wrestle, after, and teams lines up to shake hands). A wrestler can make himself look like a poor sport if he doesn't shake hands after match by the way he carries himself and the other way around. Look at college wrestling, You rarely see wrestlers shake the other coaches hand, not out of disrespect, most of the time you are still pumped from the win, that you go shake YOUR OWN coaches hand first. I don't think its that big of a deal to NOT shake the other coaches hand, maybe its just a personal preference. Just my opinion.
  13. there was a singlet i saw on Friday night, a team Indiana singlet from maybe a couple years back?!!? I didn't know you were allowed to wear freestyle singlets, i thought it had to be your high school, any rule or info on this?
  14. very good point, but you have to remember they are still young high schoolers, they have another couple years/summers to grow before they get to college, you'd be surprised how much they'll grow (unless they are weighing like 105 soak and wet, but I am not sure what they walk around at). Very good point to bring up though. I am sure college coaches are looking for those guys who are going to have to "get down to 125" instead of weighing like 123 all the time.
  15. nothing like some summer wrestling to make a winter champion. The numbers DONT lie!
  16. Thanks, well i guess before these last two years how long has it been since they hadn't competed at the team state tourney.
  17. It was awfully shocking to only see 2 EMD wrestlers there, I guess we've been spoiled in the past years w. 5,6 + wrestlers. But they are pretty young, I am sure it wont be to long before we see EMD back up again....I do have one question, how long has it been since EMD has NOT competed at the Team State Tournament?
  18. Pretty exciting match for a couple heavy weights, Janney hit some pretty impressive snatch singles/doubles. I thought he was going to get hit with a stalling though, i think the gas tank was starting to run on E.
  19. Does anyone know if Tony will be wrestling in College, if so where?
  20. Jackson did a great job at keeping it close and frustrating Tsirtsis. He really wrestled good. A pair of tough wrestlers that maybe we get to see wrestle again next weekend at Team State. ;D
  21. I think that's why I was so confused this weekend, I am used to the college rule where you only need one foot IN BOUNDS to score, not stop the match when one body part leaves the mat. I do agree with the ref it makes it more controversial, but at the same time, you are the ref, hopefully you are prepared to make calls like that.
  22. The kid did an illegal move, deserves to get punished for it. BUUUT if the cathedral kid is to hurt to finish the semi-finals match, then maybe he shouldn't of been aloud to wrestle in the finals. BUUUT you try telling a teenager "you can't wrestle in the finals, you are to hurt," see how that goes. The boo's were pretty bad, but you saw that coming as soon as his hand was raised int he semi's. Bad situation all around.
  23. If you blow the whistle as soon as a foot goes out of bounds to avoid controversy you take the chance of making MORE controversy when a kid finishes a take down with 2 or possibly 3 feet still in bounds. Granted wrestlers shouldn't wrestle on the edge, BUT its going to happen, action still takes play on the edge, I don't think you should stop the match just because of a toe being on the line ya know. I think that's the thing I didn't like the most this weekend, just let them wrestle. Just my opinion though.
