  7. Wednesday night, 6-8pm Every wrestler that plans to attend must be a Schoolboy/girl and up, and must have a USAW card. 3/22/17 will feature Kevin English Kevin is the assistant wrestling coach at Fegely middle school in portage. In 2015 he was the Elementary wrestling coach for Portage wrestling club. Going back in the books from 2002-2003 he was the head wrestling coach at Quigley Prep HS in Chicago. Something that he is very proud of was coaching under hall of fame 6x Asst. Olympic coach Bill Weick at Mt. Carmel HS in 01-02. Other Coaching experiences include Griffith HS in 2001, Dolton Park Falcons IKWF Co-Head coach. In High school he posted a 77-6 record only wrestling one full season, he was a 2x DAC champ, sectional/regional champ, and semi-state qualifier. Freestyle and greco is where Kevin really shined, he was a 4x IN national team member, cadet northern plains regional place winner, he placed 5th at the cadet world team trials, AAU ironman world champion, AAU freestyle national runner up, AAU greco national champ, 2x ISWA freestlye state champ, 4x Greco state champ, 3x University Greco state champ. During his career one of his greatest moments was coaching the Indiana Bad Boys where he had 19 all americans and 7 state champions, and Concord Cup team champions. He has helped run various camps around the nation for all styles of wrestling. He has coached multiple team Indiana Junior Freestyle/Greco teams. Adding to his list of accomplishments came the MMA world where he held a Pro record of 13-7-0-2 and an Amateur record of 10-1-1, Total=23-8-1-2. He has fought on Fox tv, Pay-per-view, and Comcast sports. Kevin now helps at Portage where he coaches his son Kaiden, and I am sure this is his greatest accomplishment of them all! We are very excited to bring kevin in the room to teach us more about the freestyle world!
  8. Thats what we like to hear! We appreciate it!
  9. Hope everyone has a safe trip to Hobart RTC today! Remember Door 18 on the East side of the school.
  10. Wednesday night, 6-8pm Every wrestler that plans to attend must be a Schoolboy/girl and up, and must have a USAW card. 3/15/17 will feature Brennan Cosgrove Cosgrove also wrestled for the Brickies and graduated in 2008. He is well known around the state and the country for his funky style and humor. He in my personal opinion was one of the most exciting wrestlers to watch because you never knew what he was going to do. As a freshman in high school he posted a record of 40-7 finishing out his freshman campaign with a 3rd place state medal. Moving on to his sophomore year where he improved his placement and took a step up the podium with a 2nd place finish at state and held a record of 46-2. His junior year was a fun one to watch, where the rivalry of Cosgrove vs McGill was born. These two went back and forth all year exchanging wins and losses, it came down to them in the finals of every tournament that they were both entered in. Semi-state came around, one of the better known matches, where the result was an illegal slam and Cosgrove leaving with a 2nd place SS finish. The very next week at the state finals they met again, with McGill wrestling the better match this time and coming out on top for the last time, Leaving Cosgrove with a 2nd place finish and a 45-4 record. Cosgrove's senior year was his most dominant, he was untouched with a 43-0 record taking his final step up the podium with a State Championship. Cosgrove is known for his funky style, big returns, flying throws, long shots, leg rides, etc... During his 4 years in high school Cosgrove was a Cliff Keen All-American, and also a High school All-American placing 6th at senior nationals. After high school he went on to wrestle for Purdue University. Other accomplishments include 2x Semi-State champion, 4x Regional Champion, and 3x sectional champion. If you are looking to bring some funk to your style, this is the RTC for you!! He will be showing some freestyle turns, and most likely some moves you just pull out of your butt. Thats the kind of wrestler he is. Chico Adams and Cosgrove having some fun before the finals of state.
  11. Real good room tonight! Had a lot of tough kids! Great work see you next week!
  12. Today is the day!!!! Make sure you have your USAW card!!

The next year as a sophomore at bigger weight, 125 pounds, Frankie went on to be a state runner-up, losing a very tight match to Josh Harper the defending state champion. Holding a record of 41-4. That same year Frankie became a high school All-American placing 5th at high school nationals. In his Freestyle campaign as a sophomore he was a Fargo All-American placing 8th. In 2009, Frankie became Hobart's 10th state champion in school history, Holding a record of 40-1. Also, placing 5th again at High school nationals, becoming a two time High school AA. During his senior year, Frankie won his 2nd state title with a record of 42-1. With his hard work recognized by the state, He won the 2010 Mental Attitude Award. After high school, Frankie went on to wrestle for Purdue University. This only highlights some of his accomplishments others include being a 2x academic all stater, a semi-state champion, 3x regional champion, and a 4x sectional champion.
