In fact the buggy did get stuck in the snow! Seriously, our AD didn't get the results in until late. Due to all the cancellations we hosted the sectional immediately followed by 4 different basketball games. Crazy day in Emmatown!

NECC has been cancelled and will not be made up. Teams are now focusing on this weekends sectional, good luck to everyone in their preparation.

Westview Sectional seeding will not be done until Thursday night. NECC tournament has been rescheduled for Tues/Wed. night (unless mother nature says otherwise).

We will run 4 mats, 3 for varsity competition and 1 for all JV. Teams are Westview, Angola, West Noble, Eastside, LaVille, and John Glenn. There will be 5 matches to wrestle.

As a wrestling guy myself, I will agree with everyone that when entering MMA as it is today, wrestling is the best base. However, I have trained with the Gracies on many occasions. What many people don't know, is that Rorion Gracie (eldest son of Helio) developed the original UFC and yes-it was a way to showcase Gracie Jiu-Jitsu. However, Helio's sons decided to choose Royce, the smallest of the boys, to represent the family and show how even a smaller, less powerful jiu-jitsu practicioner could defeat a larger, stronger opponent. If the Gracies wanted to truely stack the deck against the field they would have chosen Rickson to represent Gracie Jiu-Jitsu in the UFC tournaments. Just some food for thought. -

Compiling that list showed extreme dedication or just a passion to get wrestling season underway. Nice effort by the way....there will be a ton of kids moving around though. We have kids who have will have moves 3 weight classes! -

We did hotwire a couple weeks ago, got rooms at the Sheraton downtown for $85 a night. Also used priceline in the past, can pick the exact hotel but the general area. 3x got the university place for under $100, it was a haul from Conseco but had free shuttle service going all day long.
