  1. Beats the heck out of what we were going to have!
  2. Reitz had champs at 106 Kuhn, 113 Davis, 120 Johns, 126 Vanhook, 132 Moody, 152 Rueger, 170 King and 220 Schnarr, all undefeated!
  3. Reitz 75. Terre haute north 6 Reitz 57. Central. 19 Reitz 76. Bosse 3 Reitz. 78. Charlestown 6 Reitz. 62. Jasper 10
  4. We'll find out tomorrow after wrestle offs if any freshmen can crack the Reitz line up!
  5. Kelley from Evansville Central at 138 is a 10th grader not 12th. Other than that Your doing a great job keep up the good work
  6. Reitz has 6 ranked in the top 20 without Vanhook at 120 yet so that would make 7 in the top 20. Mater Dei has 2 without 120 so if Goebel is ranked at 120 that would be 3. Just wondering how MD ranks 7 spots higher than Reitz?
  7. Personally I'd like to see Reitz win state or at the very least make it to team state. They've been in Mater Dei's shadow for years. Reitz has had some very good teams over the years but couldn't get out of sectionals because they had the best team in the state in their sectional. Ferguson deserves a shot at state before they change the rules again. But it's going to be a battle for sure, but with MD losing 8 starters and Castle losing a huge part of their team in the Welch brothers among others it would seem Reitz is in good position to make a run at state. Reitz lost 2 seniors, one didn't make it out of sectionals but one made it to state (Dowdy). So the quality of wrestlers is very high but you still have to show up and get it done on the mat. Reitz has some outstanding senior leadership in Vanhook, Moody, Reuger, Appel and King. I have seen King run 50 wall to walls when he only had to run 25 and he sprinted the last two. In other words he is leading by example. I'm very impressed by how these young men are approaching this season in a workman like fashion and going the extra mile when they could be home on Indiana mat. I'll leave you with this thought...... Work hard get paid!
  8. Mater Dei has set the bar for 40 years or more in wrestling! Don't think for a minute that they don't have very good wrestlers backing up the seniors that left. They also have a very talented group of freshmen coming in that will contribute. Also Dane Mauer is coming back and he's been training with his brother all summer. All the respect go's to them and as the old saying go's......."to be the best you've gotta beat the best". I personally think we will but, that's just my opinion. I do know that would just be the first step toward the main goal!
  9. Assuming Kuhn go's 106 and Johns go's 120. Reitz would have Davis (10), Ferguson (9), Bruce (9), Voegel (9) and Brandenstein (9) to fill that spot. I would like to see that wrestle off because 3-4 of them could make varsity on another team. Reitz JV team will be solid as well. Should be an interesting year on the west side of E-ville!
  10. Reitz will be the team to beat in the south. They return 12 outta 14 with a very strong line up from top to bottom. MD lost 8 to graduation and Castle lost the Welch twins. With 5 semi-state and 4 state qualifiers, barring injury of course they should be in the top 5 all year long. Rueger, Van Hook, Moody and Kuhn are a strong anchor and should carry a group of great boys all the way to state. Some name to watch for.......Josh Davis, Mitch and Mason Schnarr, Trevor Appell, and Aaron King.
  11. I thought you were going to post the placers results not just Jaspers! That bums me out. :-[
  12. Gotta shout out my Reitz boys! Kuhn will be (11 grade) Johns (11) Gideon (12) Moody (12) Rueger (12) And a few to watch! Josh Davis (10) Mitch Schnarr (11) Trevor Appell (12) Link Deirks (10) Aaron King (12) Mason Schnarr (11)
  13. Tanner Bruce won't be a factor he was whipped by the scale today. Weighed 1 tenth over.
  14. Will someone please give updates to us poor working guys? Who ever thought a 12 hour day the same day as regionals would be a good idea should be shot!
  15. Any cadet 105/112 going to this tourney? Are any 84/91 schoolboys going?
  16. Kuhn and Reuger both lost at a Carbondale Illinois tourney! Kuhn lost 2-0 to Blackwell from Union County Ky. While Rueger lost to a young man named Gannt. Gantt was ranked 3rd in Illinois at the time of the loss ( not sure of his ranking now ). Blackwell is ranked number 1 in Kentucky. Two quality losses!
  17. Eating the bird, not you coach! Now nuff said?
  18. Evansville Reitz Kuhn @ 103 23-0 Moody @ 125 23-0 Rueger @ 140 23-0
  19. Not trying to put my cart before my horse but have twins ever won state in the same year? Think it would be pretty rare in the whole country. We could see something epic this year!
  20. That's good news too me that Welch isn't hurt but bad news too every other 160 pounder in the state! ;D
  21. Rumor has it Chad Welch hurt an arm and may be out the rest of the year. I personal hope it's not true because he is an outstanding wrestler and young man. Would really suck for this to happen in his senior year! Has anybody else heard this?
  22. Mitch (130) is not to bad a wrestler with a 21-5 record after Harrison 10-way, Zionsville and Connersville. Him and his twin brother Mason (215) (18-6) are only sophomores.
