  1. I find finding things offensive offensive
  2. You really found that offensive? Seriously? ha... hahahahaha Dude I mean come on it started with me making a joke and then Y2 made that joke. I thought it was a quite funny joke. Just because Y2 said it doesn't mean you can't laugh at it. Lighten up buddy.
  3. Who thinks that we should set up two divisions for class wrestling discussion? One with Y2, Karl, and manvswild1 and the other with everyone else ;D
  4. It just wasn't pushed hard enough
  5. Y2 that manvswild1 in the front and I think he's coming for you!! RUN!!!! haha
  6. I have a question for Y2 and Karl. Are you guys for classing both the individual and team parts or just the team part of wrestling?
  7. Y2 your data shows that the average for NC is 1224 but that they have more small schools than big. I have two questions that I would like to ask you. 1) what is the cut off line for a big/small school? 2) out of all the qualifiers from NC how many were from small schools?
  8. I can understand why you would want to class the team aspect of wrestling, but wouldn't that mean that school like yours Y2 that's a small school wouldn't wrestle a big school like say Perry? Wouldn't that kinda of say to the kids that "Hey your not good enough to wrestle with these kids to were only going to wrestle lesser schools." I'm not trying to add fuel to either persons fire, I'm just saying that when I wrestled I would rather be wrestling schools like Perry where the competition is tougher other than a school I could just beat up on. It's like my coach used to say no one thats a good wrestler likes to wrestle a pud.
  9. All I was saying that was from whenever to '74 there was less of a total population for everyone than there was from '74 to now. So as population grows programs will grow and as total population grows then state pop. grows and then the NCAA champs from a state will go up.
  10. I'm really not trying to jump into this argument but I think that you can't realistically use numbers from the 70's to support either of your arguments because numbers were bound to go up from then, because the US population was going up. So realistically most states should have more NCAA champs because there were more people involved. I hope that makes sense to everyone like it does in my head
  11. You say that Howe has no offense but it is kinda hard when all someone does is back up and get pushed out of bounds.
  12. You could argue that there's alot of individualistic mindsets in football and basketball as well. Examples, Chad Johnson and Terrell Owens. Two idiot WR. Both of which I wouldn't put on my team if you payed me the kind of money they think they deserve.
  13. So Coach McCormick your saying that because a school like Warren is huge they wont have as many multi sport athletes as a small school like Sheridan? With all due respect that might be one of the dumbest arguments I've ever heard. I know that most of the kids that go to Warren play FB, BB, and track. It's the same thing for a big school as a little school the athletes are going to play all the sports that they are good at and the ones that only play one sport are only going to play that one. Look at a smaller 5A school and compare the number of kids that play multi sports to the number of kids they have I bet it will be close to the same percentage as a small school. Granted Warren is a bad example for that be cause they have 120+ on the football team and most of them are there just to say they are on the team. But I'm talking about the kids that are 1st or 2nd string varsity or 1st or 2nd string JV.
  14. Cracking open that cooler right after making weight by .1 ;D
  15. But he shouldn't if the other wrestler stands up right after the top man throws his legs in. There would be no time to work a turn. Which is my point about the Eppert v Wright match.
  16. Eppert never got a chance to run any offense when he had his legs in. As soon as he would throw his legs in Wright would stand up right away, so IMO there never should have been any stalling calls on Eppert. And, I understand what you saying about throwing the 2nd leg in as the other wrestler stands up but from my point of view it looked like Eppert always had both legs in before Wright stood up.
  17. I think it would be a really close match. Chalfant is a beast, but Chico knows how to win close matches. Chico I'm sorry man but i think this years Chalfant would beat you. I think if you guys wrestled 100 times it might end up being something like 45/55 him.
  18. So what your saying is that if Andrew Howe in his senior year was wrestling some freshman that was like 2-24 and the freshman threw a headlock and stuck Howe then the freshman is automatically better than Howe? My point was strange things happen sometimes the better wrestler doesn't always win. A kid could try a throw and his foot slip and then lands on his back and the ref calls a quick pin, that in my opinion is what getting "caught" means. That's what I was trying to say sorry if it came out differently.
  19. I'm not saying all headlockers catch people and thats why they win. I was just saying most of the time if someone says that a kid got caught it's because someone who isn't as good as him (or as good as someone thinks he is) got beat.
  20. congrats crown point!!
  21. I don't think that everyone who says that a kid got caught is favoring them. When I was in high school we had this one kid that would get down by 9+ just about every match but then would catch the kid and pin him. And, our whole team would say the other kid got caught by ours, and we weren't favoring the other kid
  22. If you ain't first, your last. -Words from the great mouth of Ricky Bobby ;D
  23. I agree with jcook about the Wright/Eppert match. Eppert was using his legs so that he could work to a turn. He should not have been hit with any stallings, it would be different though if Eppert had threw into his legs and just sat there. But, I don't blame Wright for trying to stand up when Eppert put in his legs.
