  1. you by chance don't have the Campbell Price match? Nice ob on the filming
  2. I was there at the tournament, but didn't see the match. I did speak some individuals mat side saying it was totally an illegal move that should of obviously been stopped. The refferee in the match was being yelled at by everyone from the crowd to the mat chairman telling him to stop the match. His arrogance was such that he totally ignored the commotion and let the mat continue. If that is true his freestyle license should be revoked. I am a certified high school refferee and it is the main responsibility of the refferee to insure the safety of the wrestlers. I have stopped matches if I had one inch of doubt an individual was in danger of being injured and never have I been ridiculed by coaches or fans. If they find this guy guilty of neglance then revoke his license to ref, because now there might be a great young wrestler that could be out for 6-8 months with a torn MCL. Nice job ref way to show arrogance and a total lack of knowledcge for this great sport!
  3. If this is the case on the rules, then I think some of the high school coaches in the state need to make it clear to their wrestlers about it. I know there is a number of top athletes that attend many camps during few the last weeks of their break. A number of them attend a camp across the border in Ohio which recognized as on of the toughest in the country. The IHSAA needs to get with the times and stop holding back our wrestlers and re-write our rules so our children can compeat at the highest level possible!!! COME ON IHSAA GET WITH THE PROGRAM
  4. If you read this BLOG again AJ My son had a errifffic time wrestlin on the Blue Team. Its really nice to see all the parents of both teams get along so good and all the boys support one another on the mat. Terriffic job an the way the tourney went It was an all around joy to watch and attend tie tourney
  5. Will there be any results posted on how the teams are doing? How about individual results?
  6. Rex Peckinpaugh Indiana's winningest high school wrestling coach
  7. No mom says this is one tourney that will deffinately not happen. He will be at Freestyle State and be going to Fargo as a first year JR. And your right he loves Freestyle most of all.
  8. Thanks for the corrections, but we love Cody like one of our own and I don't think his parents care about my spelling, punctuation, or grammer. Its, just good I don't speak like I do on the job site. hahahahahahaa
  9. Who cares! Cody is a beast and will befor some time everyone has a bad match once and a while I know the match would be different if it was wrestled again! And it probably will be in the future. Beat his ASS Cody!
  10. Good luck to all Brenden Campbell will not make the trip due to his sister getting married that weekend. He begged to go but MOM said." Absolutely Not"
  11. God, Family,Wrestling evidently Campbell knows the three things that mean the most its tattooed on his back.
  12. My son placed 3 at the high school level this year, and since he was 5 we wrestled Freestyle. This past summer he was a Cadet All-American at Fargo and to this day prefers Freestyle over Folkstyle. Sure the rules have gotten all messed up but if you were familar with the international style you would know that the governing body changes them often to keep th U.S. from domination the competition My son loves the brutality of Freestyle. I will say the old rules made it last longer, but times change and if your not willing to change with the times then get back on the pourch and don't run with the big dogs. I feel that if Indiana cuts out Freestyle and Greco then we will move to a near by state that has it
  13. Wow I can't believe what I am reading? Worried about getting your wrestler seen. I don't speak for anyone but myself but who really cares.Sure its nice to see tapes on you apponent but do you really think that tape is going to do any good for next year at another tournament. These wrestlers change after every practice wrestle at different weight classes there are so many variables. Come on summer wrestling makes winter champions I thank Flo and all the other different organizations who take the chance and hold a tournament of this magnitude with this quality of wrestlers.
  14. Good point Matt as time goes on this tournament could get to be huge.
  15. By looking at the names on the Flo Wrestling web site this is going to be as tough as Fargo. And the colleges showing up is pretty impressive.
  16. Can anyone tell me where to go to find the brackets for the Big10 championships
  17. If I am right I think its the top 2 under classman in each weight class is that correct?
  18. Does anyone know the full line up?
  19. I can't believe you left out names like Campbell, Todd, McKinley, Mullins those are a FEW REAL GOOD MEN
  20. Here is another good one for you as in Freestyle if the move is started in bounds and continues out of bounds the points are still scored so wrestling the line would really hurt quite a few wrestlers infact you may find them in the third row with 2 points scored against them NICE!!!!!!!!!!!! A blast double to the 3rd row now thats excitement when the ref throws up 2
  21. I did see some great 1-0/2-0 matches. The finals match at 130 was action packed down to the last second in overtime. They kept wrestling taking shots, moving off the hips on top, etc. We need to reward the wrestler that wrestles the full 6 minutes. Start punishing the individual that moves backwards, lays on top or bottom. I have noticed a ton of matches especially on the world level in Freestyle that are 0-0 but the period doesn't end that way, if you were familar with wrestling you would know the exciting game of the clinch. Let's get the party started and wrestle and quit playing the line give the individual who score first some kind of reward. If you watch Jason run a Turk, he punishes his opponent and turns him he doesn't lay ther and keep the botom man from wrestling bring it back to their feet. Forget it, now I know why freestyle is wrestled around the world and we are wrestling it less and less It's much easier to wait for the second and third periods so you can lay on your opponent turn them with 2 secs. left and win 2-0. The way some of the finals matches went we might as well just start in OT things would be much funner to watch.
  22. It was a total pleasure to be part of the New Castle Team this year. Thanks to all the wrestlers and coaches for putting in the effort to make a great showing at the state level. Loooks great for the next couple of years with only losing 4 ( I think to graduation).
  23. Here is my opinion and mine only. I feel that the best thing that our sport could do, would be to bring back a few of the old style Freestyle rules. This Folkstyle high school rules needs an up lift or lets get on board with the college level rules and make these kids wrestle. I to felt to much time was spent dancing around the mat or throwing the boots in and not being able to turn an indinidual. The 112# finals was one of the most boring matches of the tourney, it wasn't until Ayresman made a move did someone win in over time from a 0-0 tie BORING, LETS WRESTLE. Start rewarding the individual that takes the risk of shooting quit runiing riding the line and winning by one point because you put in the boots and laid ontop of your opponent. I could go on for ever but if you wanted to see a fun match let the kids get more physical quit letting someone put the boots in and fake turning someone for 2 min. lets wrestle in the middle
