Not without solid D1 wrestlers on the roster and when have they had individual champions every year or two? Agree, don't see it in the near term for sure.
My point is , would having a champion every two or three years pacify Indianas fan base? Knowing any title is out of question. By the way, Joe D. And Angel E. Had a few titles pretty close together.

Realistically, I don’t see it in a lifetime. But does it matter ? If they can get a NCAA individual champion every year or two,

Agreed with both comments here. Isn’t it disheartening here, to the contrast of just talent alone ? Can’t even have a discussion about individual matchups.
-
So with a few of our starting 10 injured or dinged , do we put them out there or keep them off the mat for a better matchup down the road. Eventually they will see these guys again in tje big ten tournament. Nothing to gain here

Thanks to Tina Lillard the ball got rolling. Iu , NCAA , and coaches association should be in the middle of this discussion. No doubt she lawyerd up and got some good advice. It can’t be tolerated. Too bad for the sport of wrestling neither coach ,for the respective teams involved here , spoke up. Everyone should be outraged. This kind of behavior has to be snuffed immediately as it happens. It’s so easy to do because of the nature of the sport. This can put a damper on popularity or growth of wrestling real quick.

Lillard is not the first person this POS has injured or tried to injure, there seems to be a host of others. What a shame for the IU wrestler. Head coaches ,in this situation ,need to speak up and take a leadership role in addressing conduct of this nature.

I found it on the mat 2 replay and watched it. That wasn't a legitimate wrestling move.
Probably should've been stalemated in the first place, they were in that position too long.
Right , I was a legitimate , intentional ,move to injure. Not unlike DJ’s injury a season or so back by Purdue wrestler at Wilkinson. So what can be done ,or what can you do, about these intentional moves?

He was returned and I believe something with his arm/elbow was affected ad he favored it. Hopeing it is nothing to serious.
Anything like that will affect his wrestling. We have a whole second season left. He can rest and recoup. Need him 100% for big ten tournament, if that much time is needed to recover , Indiana has guys to step in the lineup in the meantime. Hope he gets back at100%.

Good for Indiana to keep the room invested. While at the same time keeping guys rested, fresh , and healthy, that need it. I did see that Gilcher M F out of event though, Not sure of the injury.

A lot of people go undefeated, 6 did last season. That being said, an early season loss to a tough wrestler is not a big deal. I would expect a different result should they meet again
You are right 6 is a lot.

Nobody goes undefeated . He’s been in a lot of matches this year so far, hope he stays healthy. He need not worry about a loss here and there. Just needs to stay away from he injury bug.

How long in advance does a chef get his ingredients?
Political stances are constantly changing worldwide, UWW shouldn’t police world politics. If a country is selected , plans are made by participants , if an impediment, as you say arises in the mean time , look at the expenses and havoc caused by last minute change. No , not even ,cherry picking these locations is going to prevent world political problems between countries.

Why do you not think they are not obligated to do so? It’s like saying I don’t think a doctor is obligated to ensure the medication he or she is prescribing is safe and effective for his patient. She or he does this by doing their due diligence ensuring that the medicine is the correct one for the diagnosis and no contraindications such as an allergy is present . In the same fashion UWW when laying on an international tournament has to ensure there are no predictable impediments to attendance by the key participants and visas being one of these key factors. If they fail in their ensuring this they have failed in performing the task.
How many years in advance do they ,UWW,select a country to host?

I don't know about look good.... but they actually did NOT look bad.
You are a little rough on em. This early, I’m not sure it could be better. They should and will have to keep improving to keep pace in the conference. But the guys that wrestled looked great to me for this early,Stamina wise especially.

Started slow tonight with a forfeit at 285. Then got down 15-10. #6 Rooks went down in the process. Finished out 3 pins and a major. The team overall looked good.

So let’s get right to it. It doesn’t Matter how good the seed meeting is, or how smooth the tournament sectional runs, or how much space the facility has for the athletes and fans. Boils all down to the hospitality room food.
