  1. Andrew Howe has two older brothers right?
  2. It's great to hear about all the nice shoes for the kids but, what about the old pair that you most likely won't be wearing again? I have seen some kids wearing shoes way to big or so worn out that they have to be taped on so they don't fall off. Take a look in your closet, dig out your old shoes and donate them to a school or club to be passed along to some kid who's parents can't afford to buy him/her a new pair. How imbarassing for some young kid to be made fun of because of the shoes on his/her feet.
  3. I hear Merrillville is by far the best in the state!!!
  4. would we be doing this for the love of the sport or are we getting paid?
  5. Sounds like a great idea to me. It seems like less dual meets and more Saturday tournaments is the way things have gone in recent years and I for one have always enjoyed the dual meets.
  6. I'm wondering if anyone ever compliments these refs for the job they do? Have you ever noticed at the end of a dual meet when the teams and coaches form lines to shake each others hands in a display of good sportmanship? I have, but I don't remember many times seeing anyone shake hands with the ref. We can't have wrestling without someone being out there officiating our great sport. Maybe we should all make more of an effort to say something nice to the officials when they deserve it. I don't agree with every call they make but, I do agree with most of their calls. Remember they are closer to the action then everyone else except for the wrestlers. The way I figure it, is if the ref is down on the mat looking to see if a persons sholders or scapulas are touching the mat for 2 seconds he has a much better view then I do from up in the stands. Also, how do they aviod being kicked when they are down there so close?
  7. So what are your examples of these inconsistencies?
  8. D2d, I was at North Newton this past Saturday and I don't recall the coaches really complaining much on any of the calls. How many times did they take the refs to the scoreres table to discuss a problem? Maybe you should get yourself a copy of the rule book and READ it before complaining?
  9. Isn't there a meet at up at North Newton this weekend? If so, does anyone have the details?
  10. Any idea what time the finals start region time?
  11. All I'm getting is last years matches. Whats going on??????????????????????????
  12. Does anyone know about what time the finals should start at Merrillville on Saturday?
  13. Coach Balash of Hobart, a real gentleman day in and day out.
  14. As a fan who's team wasn't there I enjoyed the evening of wrestling. The C.P. coaching staff is something to watch. Weather you agree with their tactics or not they do stick up for their team and are not shy about working the officials to get things favorable in their direction as much as they can. I would also like to say that in my humble opinion they have the most skilled wrestlers as a team then any other team I have seen this year. If I'm correct they have 4 guys with perfect records and the remainder of the team ins't bad either. I look for them to either take the team title or be awful darn close.
  15. I have not been to Portage in some time. Does anyone know which door to enter for the meet tonight? Usually they are marked with a letter.
  16. You should try Calumet, it is terrible too. No flip cards to tell you the score at two of the three tables. No clocks unless you are on the correct side of the match. They constently remind people not to be in the stairways but, if you don't keep moving around the gym how do you know the score and time of the match. Also, they are NEVER close to starting on time. 9 am and 10:30 am sure sound like different times to me. BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO how about a move??? And just think we get two weeks of this B.S. before going to Merrillville. Lastly, where were their brackets? I realize there are changes on Saturday morning but nothing at all posted on this website for the fans. Poor place, poorly run, and poor parking.
  17. Crying is correct. Every year the same old B.S. about too crowded or the people running it are rude. I never have a problem there. I get up early, drive over and find a nice seat, sit back and enjoy the show. The A.D. and the assistant A.D. are both very nice ladies so, if you have a real complaint and can talk to them without yelling I am sure they will listen. Last year I saw them taking great care of an older man with a walker. Boo Hoo, Boo Hoo, stay home and cry.
  18. Being from northwest Indiana I have the option of attending either Crown Point or Calumet tomorrow. It sure would be nice to see the brackets before I make up my mind.
  19. maybe now crown town can make time to send in their brackets?
  20. it looks like we are still missing 8 sectional brackets this morning. I wonder if these are the same last 8 from last year too? Maybe its time to start moving these sectionals around to new locations???????
  21. I wonder why so many of the sectionals are posted right away and others seem to take for ever to get on here? Don't they know we are all waiting and waiting to see them?????
  22. Surma looked real good at Lowell on Saturday. Now the question is what weight will he pick, 145 or 152?
  23. I'm curious about Sampson Cook of Perry Meridian, did he really pin Harper?
