  1. He was booed two weeks in a row. At Castle and Semi State while on the podiums. I have no real problem with cheering for the other guy which was fairly obvious. Probably quite the surprise to the other young man .
  2. Ok, I admit, MD is our rival and I love to beat them. They are the the top dogs around here. However, I have a lot of friends at Mater Dei. If we aren't competing against them, I wish them good luck the same I do everyone from our little corner of the state. If you don't feel the same way I'm good with that too. To each his own. I just don't get booing kids. I could kind of understand booing a sore sport or a dirty wrestler and even officiating. But other than the fact Moody beat Henderson I don't get it. I had the pleasure of coaching this kid in elementary school. He has ALWAYS wrestled defensively and scored low. That is his style. He is a very good student, never wrestles dirty and shows good sportsmanship. He always wants to challenge the best wrestlers in the state. Goes to many camps in the offseason. Has won several ISWA state championships. Really, booing this kid? Show some class. You don't need to boo a kid, just talk to your neighbor and voice your opinion.
  3. Quote from: Onthemat on Yesterday at 02:34:14 PM Yep, he wrestled. Showed a little pain and limp as well as dominating performance. Sims didn't wrestle the SIAC. You are talking about the sectional. Yeah, you're right. I overlooked the site in question. He limped a LOT at SIAC.
  4. Yep, he wrestled. Showed a little pain and limp as well as dominating performance.
  5. Consistancy was the obvious shortfall yesterday. I seen wrestling stopped 3 maybe 4 times for an eye poke. Not one of those times did I see a point given. Suddenly there is a championship match and the ref popped a point immediately. Flagrent, intentional? No way. The ref who made the call is not very consistant at all. I have seen him have two bad tournaments this year. He rarely if ever gets down on the mat. He is in very poor position often and certainly does not like to have his calls challenged.
  6. There will definately be a few upsets next weekend. A few weight classes could be coin flips. 2nds and 3rds will get interesting in several weight classes as well.
  7. Can you post records on these guys? There seem to be several guys ranked I know have a few losses.
  8. Did the brackets get taken down? One minute they were there, now they are gone.
  9. Didn't forget Schnarr. Just stated Reitz had 5 undefeated. Schnarr obviously wrestled good as well. So did his twin Mitchell.
  10. Ervin pinned Johns. Ervin beat Mastison about 8-2?
  11. I believe Johns/Mastison was 1-0 Mastison. Johns nearly scored a couple of times. Good match. Reitz had about 5 wrestlers go undefeated. Kuhn, Moody, Rueger, Dowdy & King.
  12. Nice job Seitz! Count your digits make sure you have them all.
  13. Not suprised. He is really a good wrestler but unfortunately he is creating quite a name for himself. I have seen some less than honorable wrestling by this kid myself. Usually when it is a close match or he is frustrated. Too bad. LOOKOUT SEITZ!!
  14. Against Austin Egolf-Columbia City in consolations. It shows a DQ and Richey dropping down to 7th & 8th bracket.
  15. Thanks Y2, us that cannot be there are glued to the computer!
  16. Ok, I may have missed it in here somewhere. Are some saying that class wrestling would be the solution to not having wrestlebacks? Won't the people who place 3rd through whatever in Class A or 4A (again whatever) still want wrestlebacks? Like I said, maybe I missed something here.
  17. Kieffer 13- Johns 11, is not getting handled. that is action packed and i can't wait to see all these young men go for IT,GOOD LUCK TO ALL IN 103-HWT I was there. It was very much a scrambling match. There was a feeling throughout the last to score would win. Johns also was fighting an injury at that time and required the match to be stopped I know once, maybe twice. A rematch will be awesome.
  18. Congratulations to all! While many of us get consumed by the wrestling, these young men have found the balance and importance of a good education. Again, hats off to these young men and good luck with their futures.
  19. Relax, I'm sure everyone does a great deal of more driving than they want to. Evansville just happens to be on the edge of the state. We are also in another time zone that doesn't cooperate with traveling throughout the rest of the state as everyone else is an hour ahead. Most coming to semistate gain an hour. Sorry, didn't mean to ruffle any feathers.
  20. On the flip side, the folks from Evansville have a much longer drive than you to the state finals. So it balances out in the end. Also it would be hard to not have an event in the 3rd largest city in the state. Where would you have it in Bloomington, Assembly Hall? I bet IU doesn't want any part of it. I think some of us in Evansville feel semi state is the payoff for a few of us. We log a lot of miles driving our younger kids to state tournaments every year. Well, all tournaments really. (By the way Bloomington, I will never forget when I drove 3 kids up after work and arrived less than 5 minutes late for weigh-ins and you wouldn't let us weigh until morning.) Unfortunately, all those miles don't guarntee semistate when they get older. :-\
