Cody Phillips was a complete animal, I was completely impressed with this kid. He gets my vote for MVP. Also Runyan, had two points scored on him the whole weekend. Those were two escapes given to Todd in the finals. Can I give two votes? PLEASE?!

Just to clarify they wrestled 11 minutes. It was the 2nd TB, not SV. And yes, Alex should have been hit for stalling in the prior 30 seconds. He was actually on the ankle longer than he was the first time, and he wasn't about to let go or move up.

There are a lot of bad things I could say about the sectional being held at Northview High School. A lot has already been said, including the lack of enough floorspace for a third mat in the middle of the gym and the fact that the finals ended at 7:15. There are many other alternative locations that have a balcony. Also, the AD at Northview is extremely rude (and obviously has never heard of spell check! Read the bracket handout). A lot of people involved with sectional agree it should be moved. Here is a list that I know of that would be good locations for the sectional: Bloomington North Bloomington South Terre Haute North Terre Haute South A new TD would be awesome as well. What are others opinions? EDIT: The 30 minute break in the beginning was because there is mandatory 45 minutes between wrestlers matches. This break, along with running all matches on one mat, helped to achieve that 45 minute break. Dave Flemming is the best TD I've been around. It doesn't surprise me that he ran a great tournament. -
Barlow looked pretty good on his feet against Cook and Spencer then #1 and #2!! Who has Richey wrestled this year? I didn't see him in those matches. He must have been timid in the Sectional Finals then. I'm not discounting his wrestling ability, I'm just saying that on his feet he didn't impress me. He does have one mean cradle though!

I believe it it going to be Richey on top. Barlow just did not impress me on his feet and from what I've seen from the Richey boys, thats where they are dangerous.

Keeping them random helps to prevent wrestlers from lowering their placement to avoid a certain wrestler. After regionals is completed, coaches will be given the format for the weight classes.

The way Barlow looked on his feet in the finals, I believe Richey could have his way with him. Nevertheless, should make for an interesting final. In the case of of the standing reversal, any time a bottom wrestler goes from bottom to behind the top wrestler standing it is considered a reversal. Good call Coach Marsh! (Count it!)

Bohannon beat little Richey? ???

I was JV for four years... One of the toughest things to go through. I was caught behind a guy who won 2x regional titles, a semi-state title and placed fourth at HWT in 2005. I was on Team Indiana 3 years, Fargo and Duals, and almost AA'd as a Cadet in Fargo. I'm not one to usually toot my own horn but several guys who qualified and placed at State that year I beat in ISWA events, including ISWA State events. Not wrestling varsity helped me become who I am today. You learn a lot of life lessons through wrestling and trying to overcome adversity. I don't believe that I would be coaching and officiating today if I had a varsity spot handed to me like a lot of people do. John DeLisle Terre Haute North Vigo '05 Indiana State '09
