  1. I thought, for the most part, the officiating at Evansville was stellar!
  2. Not true. Although I get upset when my wrestler doesn't get the call counter wrestling is part of the sport (I don't like it but look at Josh Harper). I watched yesterday in the ticket round during the Collett (Jennings County) and Pratt (Jeffersonville) match it went to overtime. During the sudden victory period, Collett got behind Pratt and Pratt moved toward the out of bounds line in then bailed trying to get our of bounds to avoid the takedown. The official, that I didn't look up but it was one of the gutsiest calls I have seen and I commend him for it, called a technical violation on Pratt for fleeing the mat and the match was over. That may have been the best wrestling call I have ever seen. The fact that Collett got through does make me mad but draws at the semi-state are different topic. Great observation MattM! I really enjoyed being around Danny during Team Indiana events but I could see a difference the year he came back after really screwing up the year before.
  3. I'd hope he isn't the principal in charge of the school I teach at. So, are we the bad people for talking about it? I know it was your wrestler involved but maybe try to look at it in an unbiased way? Many other kids wrestling their last match of their high school careers acted with class. If his attitude is a measure of his GPA how is he eligible to wrestle? Um... Should I explain to everyone about the double grapevine/Saturday Night ride he was in? Yes, I watched the match... Had he connected with the punch you'd still try to defend him. Must be his somehow proud papa.
  4. The way Kief acted I'll say as many negative comments as needed. He embarrassed himself, his school and his coaches today. You should never be satisfied with a loss but to act in that manner sh0uld never happen... For those who don't know the whole story I was there today and watched the event take place. Kief was put to his back while tied 2-2 in the 3rd period. He managed to get off of his back and was either rode out or got taken down again at the end. The other wrestler got up after the whistle was blown excited that he manged to get to state. His fan section was a crossed the facility and he got up and looked at them and screamed with excitement. Kief then brought back his arm to throw a hay-maker but the arm was grabbed by the official before it connected. He then tried to fight through the official and coaches cursing while trying to get to the other kid as he is being booed by just about everyone. After finally getting him off of the wrestling surface he went through the tunnel shouting more obscenities and we heard a really loud noise. Apparently he threw or knocked over (hard) a safety barrier fence. The security then escorted him somewhere that I didn't see. Nothing that happened to Kief was shady or not fair. We all know in wrestling that it's just you two on the mat to decide things and today Kief was beaten. There is NO excuse for acting in way he did today.
  5. We keep wrestling partners around for the people we have left.
  6. I actually enjoy Roberts Stadium... It may be two hours from home, but it is a great wrestling venue.
  7. Great news if that's true. I still want to know the logistics of the whole thing.
  8. Jake didn't wrestle in the early 90's. He graduated in 2003 I think. Somewhere around there.
  9. Oh no! Not girls basketball!
  10. Leaving here in about an hour and a half. Roads are horrible. Taking an extra blanket seeing as we have broken down before...
  11. Sorry, had some wrong info. It is a two hour delay.
  12. Pushed back one hour with 1 pound allowance.
  13. Two hour delays do not count against a school in terms of days. No matter, his wife would still be in charge of the charter schools...
  14. Regionals is not seeded. NV Sectional #1 wrestles JC sectional #4 NV Sectional #2 wrestles JC sectional #3 NV Sectional #3 wrestles JC sectional #2 NV Sectional #4 wrestles JC sectional #1 Champions are split, NV in one JC in the other.
  15. Anyone in Bloomington that can give a weather report as of now? Just curious if they got any snow. I teach at Riverton Parke and we just started to get snow.
  16. Haha, a little different situation seeing as there are multiple regionals feeding into one semi-state. Very funny though. I hadn't read that thread until you brought it up. FYI I'm unsure how I feel about that situation. All I know is I miss having two plan periods per day. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
  17. Really? That's not typical at a school! Maybe I'll throw a few updates up from the ol' iPod then.
  18. Let's see if I can hack into the Bloomington South wireless network to provide updates on my iPod Touch. I don't yet have my iPhone so that will be very difficult!
  19. Common misconception. There is nothing in the rule book that says this.
  20. Comp Teach, suck it up and get to the regional! I know you don't have anything better to do. It's not like you have to prepare for your classes! BTW, your picture on the left gave you away.
