  1. D. Veazy makes the U17 Freestyle finals. C. Carroll in the U20 Freestyle finals. Veazy has a Best of 3 series for a Wolrd Team sport this evening. Carroll can secure a spot in the U10 World Team Trial finals with. win.
  2. It could be as simple as stating them back in neutral after say 20-30sec of no top scoring occuring. No escape in this instance since it wasn’t earned, but just a stalemate of sorts and restart. That would be similar to freestyle but with a little more time to work. You still accumulate riding time along the way, but just can’t milk it out without getting additional takedowns.
  3. Couldn’t find the Final X graphic I was looking for explains this, but did locate a list that helps break down the World Team qualification process. MEN'S FREESTYLE 57 - Gillman sitting out waiting on the winner from the US Open. 61 - Winner from the US Open will face the winner of World Team Trials. 65 - Diakomihalis sitting out waiting on the winner from the US Open. 70 - Retherford sitting out waiting on the winner from the US Open. 74 - Dake sitting out waiting on the winner from the US Open. 79 - Burroughs sitting out waiting on the winner from the US Open. 86 - Taylor sitting out waiting on the winner from the US Open. 92 - Winner from the US Open will face the winner of World Team Trials. 97 - Snyder sitting out waiting on the winner from the US Open. 125 - Winner from the US Open will face the winner of World Team Trials.
  4. Nick Lee Final X bound with a 10-5 win over McKenna in US Open finals.
  5. I’m going to assume this quaint little place
  6. Well you have a good list of southern guys I ran into either in and/or out of season, along with a few others from the area which were mentioned earlier.
  7. We have a Pizza Palace rather than just a King (same food company though). Since a Palace holds the entire royal family I consider ours the best.
  8. The soon to collapse of Bally Sports which took over the regional FoxSports territories isn’t doing anyone sports viewing any favors either.
  9. I was thinking the same thing when the move was announced.
  10. Doesn’t help my route any since it’s a hour get to Bloomington to hit I69. But the General can just go past “The Cougars” adult residence there to save him some time.
  11. Funny coincidence, his childhood home just got approval to be turned into a permanent AirB&B. Sadly though there is no direct roads to Evansville from the “Small Town”. So you still have just over a 2.5 hour drive to Ford Center from there. And watch that time change.
  12. Yes he is the first from Indiana, unless you want to count Gable Stevesons boyhood home. This award has only been around since 1995, so not a tremendously long list of recipients.
  13. Not sure your definition of hasty, but they have known this was coming since the All Star game shift was announced at the end of 2020.
  14. While Girls Wrestling isn’t an official IHSAA fully sanctioned sport as of yet, I would assume they would like to keep it in line with the NFHS recommendations incase they move forward with it in the future. If the IHSGW’s goal is to get the sport sanctioned I would also guess they would want to follow suit for their events too. https://www.nfhs.org/articles/separate-weight-classes-for-girls-choice-of-weight-classes-established-in-high-school-wrestling/
  15. Well someone would have to change the IHSAA mind on this. Per the Winter Bulletin: NOTE – A random order draw for championship final matches in the IHSAA individual tournament series is NOT TO BE USED. Championship matches throughout the individual tournament series shall be conducted in weight class order beginning with the 106 pound weight class. So if they currently won’t allow a random order then they need much more convincing to consider ever highlight a specific individual match at the end over the rest of the matches. While I agree it would be nice to see something like a potential 4xer go last, the IHSAA seems pretty steadfast on respecting/honoring all athletes involved rather than trying to place the focus on a specific individual or matchup.
  16. Contact the IHSWCA and provide his coaching information.
  17. Glory may have got the title but Ramos made a name for himself this weekend. Great post match interview by Glory though. Pure emotion trying to recall everything and everyone that got him to that moment. Gotta love it.
  18. And Indiana gets it done at all levels. Definitely worth some recognition.
  19. The pride of Lawrenceburg Indiana gets it done in the finals. Years of struggle and hard works pays off. Great job young man, you earned it.
  20. I’m not diving into this threads whole class argument, but this point is worth showing how cherry picking statistics work both ways and doesn’t always tell the whole story. The worst state are classes too. In fact there are many classed states that have less AAs per year compared to single class states of CA, NJ, and IN. So it could easily be said that class wrestling must be holding those states back as it could that class wrestling is pushing a few states to the top. The fact is class wrestling by itself can be shown to not be the magic bullet for all wrestling state too. And honestly judging a entire states quality just based on college AAs is pretty crazy for me to wrap my head around considering that the absolute best of the best which obviously take a much bigger wrestling dedication level than just getting the experience of participating in a classed state. Participants in college wrestling seems more reliable of an across the board look at quality wrestling states, but I’m guessing we would still see many class states with low numbers there too. The numbers for both your statement and mine are due to the simple fact that all but 3 US states are classed. So statistically the odds of the highest and lowest states being classed are huge. You likely could find some advantages to point to where class wrestling may help wrestling, but the argument that class states develop more AAs just because they are classes isn’t exactly true when looking at all states.
  21. The guy was a pinning machine this season. Safe to say he’s not the AF guy that’s will specializing in flying those planes.
  22. Mentally I think it would do him some good to get to the arena at some point and soak up the appreciation for his complete career, as well as, connect with his coaches and team. Going to take awhile to get over this type of disappointment especially if his body isn’t helping him, but I think being there for part of the day can help the road to putting some of this in perspective better than staying away.
  23. Like seeing Jesse battle back in the consols and look make adjustments in rematches vs past opponents. Definitely signs of great things to come for this kid.
