I've been a part of MD for just as long, no one is knocking on yhese kid's doors but they have had some move ins. But not every year.

Yaaaaaawn, they did a pretty crappy job of recruiting me (and many others) I don't remember having a sit down with Coach about where I would attend high school. A few of my friends who were state champs never did either. I was never lavished with gifts, given special treatment in the classroom to make sure I passed, and Mom and Dad weren't given a discount for me or my teammates to attend MD.

Alcohol sales at tournaments would keep parents involved. I kid of course, but you are right on, it's hard as a parent to wait those long hours in a gym and not have an hour or so to unwind. However a well run tournament at the high school level can really energize anyone in the stands.

Thank you for the info, I thought I had something to do mid to late morning so no worries I can be there all day can't wait, I don't know if I've been to this event since I was in high school. Is the Castle concession stand still as good as it used to be? Back in the day they had all kinds of good food!

I'm a grade school coach, we get a lot of little kids out and some are really good, about 3rd or 4th grade the drop like flies. Now, I don't ask any of my grade schoolers to drop weight but I could see asking a high school kid to drop 3 lbs, most can drop that in a tough practice. I agree, it isn't like it used to be.

First match? I thought it was second match. I always hated the first match of the day, took a minute to get cob webs out.

Thrine is lightning fast Hockaday is so fundamentally sound. I hope we get a chance to see them wrestle.

When I saw this I thought it was going to be about show boating wrestlers. I thought oh man here comes the trash talk, well I would suppose I'm wrong on that but an interesting topic none the less.

Would top finishers from Worlds opt out of the other 2 qualifier tournaments? Would there be anything to gain by wrestling the other qualifiers? I feel that Nick will be watching video and try to decipher his last opponent. -
Looks lime he won his 1st match 6-0 over the Polish representative.

I am NOT saying Micic has not proven himself but did he wrestle in the US open? If so what were the results there? Also I was under the impression that Micic did not wrestle at an Olympic weight?
