  1. You are correct it is Parkway Pizza I got my wires crossed.
  2. Been waiting for this one! As far as a beef polish yes I would say Triple B hit it on the head with Gerst house. My pizza recommendations are as follows: Spanky's Pizza, Broadway Pizza this one is a little bit out of the way. Or Turoni's Pizza. Knowing that time is of the essence sometimes you might want to call ahead and order to go at all three places. If you go down to Franklin Street on one of the shuttles you really should try the Pizza King stromboli it's true they are a little hit and miss at times but if you get a good one you'll know it! My favorite Chinese restaurant is a place called Yen Ching on Green River Road I love ordering their entrees extra spicy but you better have a plan for a bathroom afterwards! I hear China Bistro is good but I've never been there. The Hilltop Inn is Good Ol' Tavern food! Plenty of fried Delicacies to be had! If you are of age and are looking to have some fun after finals the casino is obviously nearby and there are several bars that stay open late on Franklin Street my favorite of these is called the Sportsman's not a lot of Flash but plenty of pool tables if that's your thing. If you're looking for flash try Chasers or buds bar also on Franklin. Bud's has a loaded nachos platter that is out of this world! If you brought your wallet and you went a good steak you can try Cavanaugh's in the casino District or you can try Cork and cleaver I would suggest reservations on both. If you are willing to Brave going to the outskirts of Evansville there are a few bars and taverns that get my nod as well but if you're really interested in those let me know and I'll send you that way.
  3. Dexter Latimore juking the spot light I believe his junior year.
  4. We've got to find a better way I just don't know what that would be.
  5. Not saying it's a bad idea but some solutions cause other problems. Some schools have more than 10 fans per wrestler. I think we'd still be in a tight spot either way.
  6. It certainly disrupts things when they shake the weights up, WAAAAAY back in the day I knew a guy that struggled to make the lower weight, had to complete at a higher weight. In my opinion he would have been a state champ if they had not moved the weight classes.
  7. I see, well maybe some suggestion helped the situation. Either way glad to hear Preston will have a full recovery.
  8. On the subject of Henderson/Haines. I believe you can "choose" to continue then MFF. I did not see the call, I am a MD fan/alum and feel BBerg did a very classy move. Hats off to Coach for making a tough decision. MD has been on the sour end of one of those calls in the ticket round before. Prayers for a full recovery for Haines, maybe on another level of wrestling we'll get to see these two wrestle again and both be healthy.
  9. I love these write ups can't wait for Saturday!
  10. If you think visiting Evansville in February is bad you should try mid August! Heat and humidity are downright unbearable, I live way out west of Evansville and HATE being in town during the summer. BUT....... I think next week is going to be fun for a lot of people.
  11. Probably the coolest name ever announced.... D J Radnovich!!!!!
  12. As soon as I saw your avatar I thought ablut Asa's pin. I always had trouble winding back down after a quick pin (adrenaline dump and the shakes always hit me) I can't imagine getting one in the state finals!
  13. I'll take the pig, butchered of course, change the beer to Busch Light and we'll see what we can do! The rest you can keep.
  14. I, and many others I'm sure, will fill your schedule with food options! If there's anything Evansville knows how to do it's EAT!
  15. I remember him, came from Evansville Semi-State.
  16. Mom and Dad's living-room was a pretty good one back in the 90's
  17. Can't remember who that was or if you're even talking about MD but there were a couple of brothers that could hit one from anywhere. Unfried was the name Tony and Thomas, great family. Might be Tony that hit that one.
  18. Call it what you want, Dave is a hell of a nice guy. That day was just his day, I'm sure Hobart was sure they'd win that match. I'm sure it was disappointing, just part of history now.
  19. Loooong time ago, I'm wrestling in a freestyle tournament (off season) I am paired with a VERY formidable opponent from Castle. We shake hands and I see this huge ringworm sore on his forearm. I was so focused in that ringworm I didn't even hear the whistle blow. Match was over in a minute or less! Regardless of ringworm or not that dude was tough, had I not seen the ringworm, I might have lasted till the end of the period. I will not say the name of my opponent because A: Ringworm is not fun, and B: It's not like I never had it. Really does suck that we as a wrestling community have to deal with that stuff.
  20. You didn't hear it from me but...
  21. I was at that match, MD crowd was silent. Then the Cats came roaring back and capping it off with the pin at HWT. By Dave Hisch. A very interesting day, I think Danny Jankowski beat the state champ that day too.
  22. Chris Wildeman over Richie Diggs (sp?) for the state championship, Craig Weinzapfel had Alex Tsirtsis plastered to the mat but the ref wouldn't call it. Not a pin but when Brandon Cox had Josh Crick on his back in the 1994 Sectional Championship match the roof came off of the gym at MD. That single moment is the loudest I have ever heard that place, Cox won the match due to that move but did not get the pin. Long and interesting story on that one but maybe for another time.
