  1. How about Arsenault of SB St. Joe pinning #15 Ullery (SB Riley) and beating #16 Morin (Mish).
  2. Here is what I know and can add! South Bend Middle Schools (Open enrollment, I will list where most tend to go in that order) LaSalle Academy: Tony McWilliams (Adams, Riley, and Clay) Brown Intermediate: Andy Maez and David Lichtenberger (Clay and Washington) Edison Intermediate: Aaron Patterson and Andre Scruggs (Adams) Jackson Intermediate: Ronnie and Joel Ginter (Riley) Greene Intermediate: Brian Farrell (Washington and Riley) Clay Intermediate: Rod Schmitt (Clay) Jefferson Intermediate: Brian Cox (Adams and Riley) Dickinson Intermediate: ? (Clay and Washington) Marshall Intermediate: ? (Riley) Navarre Intermediate: ? (Washington)
  3. In South Bend it runs from 70 to 145 by 5 pound increments then it is 155,165,180,215, HWT for a total of 21 classes. I am pretty sure Mishawaka and the Big 11 Middle School Conference (Penn MS's, Elk) start at 75 and go to 145 by 5's then it is HS classes 152, 160,171,189,215, HWT. But as justadadnow stated it varies a lot from region to region.
  4. I'm in agreement with Coach Vic...less friction against bare skin. I used to wear em in HS cuz my legs were hairy like a gorillas... so honestly it felt a hell of a lot better and looked better too. ;D
  5. Wow! Keep it up Cavemen!!! Representing our "Classless" Indiana Pride well so far!
  6. 215...nice! Lentz will start em off right! Go Cavemen!!!
  7. B DOGG SMASH Haha...I was thinkin of listing Deron Philips duck into the near side cradle, but didn't know if anyone one else would have remembered it until I saw your post. The fact that anybody remembers that from a great wrestler of a now defunct (generally lacking) program says how memorable it was. That was "Signature"!!! Rode that move all the way to a State Title. So signature he gave it a name....The Chilly Philly!
  8. I was talking to some Lakeshore Fans/Parents last night @ Mishawaka and they told me Lowell beat Lakeshore like 52-14. This will be a real interesting match.
  9. Started @ 160 103 Daniels (L) maj. Stoneburner 11-1 112 Beck (M) dec. Frese 3-2 119 Guerra (M) dec. Belanger 7-1 125 Schrader (M) dec. Dragomer 6-3 130 Harper (M) pinned Nowacki 1:14 135 Mersich (M) maj. Cox 14-1 (?) 140 Sanderfur (M) tech fall Florian 16-1 145 Humes (L) pinned White 1:33 152 Forte (M) dec. Nitz 13-9 160 Morin (M) maj. Nitz 12-3 171 Humes (L) maj. Smith 14-6 189 Boyd (M) dec. Newman 6-4 215 Lentz (M) maj. Brandt 11-1 HWT Cooley (M) pinned Noonan 1:03 Mishawaka 44 Lakeshore 14
  10. Much more competitive than the score shows. Mishawaka 44 Lakeshore 14 Lakeshores wins came at 103,145, and171 (Complete results in the "Results" section)
  11. Carmel and Portage are great choices...along with many others listed as well. The city of Carmel is also highly rated as one of the best places to live nationally. If you are looking to stay close to the LaPorte area...there is also New Prairie HS. Not a Powerhouse...but they usually have a good program. The towns New Carlisle and Rolling Prairie are nice too, if you don't mind small town life. As far as camps...see the thread I started about two days ago. Got lots of great replies. Currently on page 3 of the messageboard. Hope that helps!
  12. As of 8am this morning the Mishawaka AD says it is!
  13. Minimum 4 days -$200 -$350 - 3 sessions of instruction/live daily - preferably not commuter, but not beyond consideration. Anything is worth consideration...just throw out some websites, recommendations, or info.
  14. I have had some current and former wrestlers express interest in summer wrestling camps? I know it is a bit early, but I was wondering what are some of the best camps at a good price (w/ the economy and all). I attended the Baumgartner Camps in PA when I was in HS, but I was looking for something a bit closer and even a bit friendlier to budget. Any review and recommendations are appreciated. Thanks!
  15. I wonder how many of these wrestlers mentioned or any we can think of who "turned the corner" is due in large part to one thing that comes to my mind: Spring/Summer Wrestling!!!
  16. It's supposed to be at Mishawaka this Wednesday (1/21) @ 7pm. Unfortunately, it is an easy hour drive for Lakeshore and snow is in forecast for No IN and SW MI everyday until then. We will see...
  17. Okay...I've had this match up circled on my calendar for months. Nothing like a Michigan powerhouse and Indiana powerhouse squaring off. This matchup is about a week away and I'm pumped. It's @ Mishawaka this year and no disrespect to Lakeshore, but I think it could be even more lopsided than last year's meeting. Indiana's #1 vs. Michigan's D2 #4 (ranked). I love the matchup and hope it continues for many years to come! So I guess I am wondering what are some other great Interstate Matchups? Let's hear em.... IN vs. OH, IL and KY Doesn't EMD wrestle some KY powerhouse and how have the results been???
  18. www.michigangrappler.com I know the site has Team and Individual Rankings. Not all the interesting discussion as we have here on indianamat.com, but what else would you expect from a "class" wrestling state. ;D Hope this helps!
  19. Not the best but some good ones IMO from the 90's NIC Fogerty - Penn Tubbs - SB LaSalle Godsey - SB Clay (lost to Berndt MISH in a great Reg. Championship then drew Warner from Portage in Ticket Round)
  20. 2Pac Metallica Rage Against the Machine ...those are a few I remember and still work for me!
  21. haha...you might get some wahoo's for that too! ;D
  22. Unfortunately, I think it just comes with sport. Kinda like how most football players have or end up with knee problems. I know my shoulders are a mess. I remember after wrestling seasons I could barely throw a baseball my shoulders were so sore.
  23. Yeah...I got grilled for it. I'll take it as a lesson learned I guess! I know now that I should've gone about it in a different manner...didn't know that then. And in no way was I trying to "call out" Rankings Guy. I appreciate what he does.
  24. Congrats Ullery...keep up the hard work!
