  1. SIUE has @ 15000 students, as I said earlier is transitioning all sports to DI. Wrestling will be official next year and rumor has it that they will be joining the Southern Conference in wrestling. Some of their sports are DI right now with afilliations in the Missouri Valley Conference and the Ohio Valley Conference. Of course neither the MVC or OHV has wrestling. They do NOT play football at this school. Large, beautiful campus. Wrestling roster has 3 Indiana boys. CONGRATS again to John.
  2. Yes it could, however this will be SIUE's last year in the NCWA as they are transitioning to DI.
  3. Goldman did a great job in the finals, Stevenson wrestled a bad match and looked worn out. Congrats again to Garrett, but its not like he was a bad wrestler before, his weight class last year at semi state was STACKED and he just got a bad draw in the ticket round. Also remember he wrestled in the opposite bracket of Sliga/Stevenson so its not like he went through both of them. BUT he IS the Champ. Congrats.
  4. Very sorry to hear that, good luck to Joe. Do you guys have any idea what caused this?
  5. Couldnt agree more. I had Stevenson all the way, Goldman slooowed it way down and took Stevenson out when he had to. Stevenson looked gassed at the end.
  6. Correct me if I'm wrong , but I thought that you have stated several times that its not state placing that colleges look at but National results. You think colleges care about small class placing?
  7. Must be the area, cause mine is unwatchable also
  8. Think its kinda funny that everyone on here holding their kids back, is the parent of a really good wrestler. Wonder how many would be doing the same thing if their son was just average? Just sayin.
  9. Its seems this has been more prevolent each and every year, until the IHSAA changes their rules people will push it to the limit. I mean come on kids graduating at 20 years old! Seems to me there are more important issues in the kids life than being a stud wrestler or football player. If kids want to wrestle in college they will find a way to do it. I think most of the time it is mommy and daddy who want junior to be the "best ever". What kids ask to be held back?
  10. He will be a 2nd year cadet! There are sophmores that age!
  11. Totally blows that Stevenson/Sliga has to be a semi. These two are head and shoulders above the others. Stevenson in a close one.
  12. [ Also saw a Cody Runyon in there - is that younger bro of state champ Briar Runyon? No I think his younger brother is named Ethan. I think he is a 7th grader, maybe 6th
  13. I'd think Todd coming thru his half of the bracket (Brierly, Spicer) has got to be somewhat surprising. Bloomington South regional.
  14. 2 NAIA schools in particular that had very good showings were Notre Dame College and McKendree. McKendree is moving up to DII. Nobody ever said these NAIA kids could not wrestle, I think the main difference is cost and the academic requirements to get into NAIA are alot lower.
  15. Great job by Coach Warthan and staff. Lots of great wrestling and went very smooth.
  16. [ Boots should get a better draw Why he didnt get an good enough draw at state last year?
  17. I like your confidence, but I'm guessing more like 4.
  18. Franklin always has a big crowd.
  19. Yes he is a Beast. Definately best recent wrestler not to win it all, look at his career accomplishments. Outstanding.
  20. Could somebody get me info on the Greyhound Open. I believe it is this Sunday, what time are weigh ins?, when does wrestling start? etc?
  21. Does anyone have a link to information about this weekends Greyhound Open? I believe it is this Sunday Feb 6. Weigh ins?, start times? etc.
