Back in the "day" my wrestling coach was also my football coach and most of our games were on a Friday night. After a victory he would sometimes back down from his "women will make you weak during season" rant and tell us to " Take your girlie-friends on down to the local gedunk stand and buy her some pogey-bait." Any guesses to the Southern Indiana Coach to whom this phrase may be attributed?

My most memorable experience from Team State was also the MD/Hobart match. I was standing in the middle of that MD crowd when Jankowski got pinned and you could have heard a pin drop the MD crowd was so silent. I think Dewig then got beat and it was looking hopeless. I was quite an emotional roller coaster when the remaining wrestlers won to eek out a win. The place went nuts. I will never forget it. At individual State I remember throwing MikeGoebel and Randy Helfrich in the pool in celebration after they won their first Coaches Trophy in 1986 at Market Square. At least we let them remove their wallets first!!!

I know that MD slipped by Merrilville 31-29 and Farmington(score?). I believe Merrilville also beat Farmington but I have yet to see any more scores for either team.

I finally got a decent stream but the camera work leaves a lot to be desired. Someone keeps trying to zoom in on the action without centering on the wrestlers. Very distracting.
