  1. Back in the day the Indy teams and Bloomington were the dominant ones, Merrillville has become a powerhouse the last 1-2 decades though.
  2. And one of the biggest targets of budget cuts, lucky them! How many schools changed class in total with all the consolidations and closings?
  3. She played guitar in band? That's actually really cool, I've never heard of many women playing guitar back in the day, and I've never seen a guitar in a high school band. Pass along a cool point or 2 to her.
  4. I still believe the answer is the same as it is every year: Merrillville. We'll see once the state placers are decided though. I definitely agree Fort Wayne is improving.
  5. Here's another random fact: My grandma is a Luginbill from Berne. True story.
  6. If no context were given I say it wins. Is this a new ranking idea for after team state?
  7. Sooooo many comments could be made...
  8. This makes sense, except for this part: "the team picked up what members thought was a dead raccoon on the way to the tournament in Grafton and stowed in the storage area of their bus." 1. Why did they stop for a dead raccoon? 2. Why did they put it on the bus?
  9. I realize things get shortened on the Internet, I've been online since 1993 (man that makes me feel old). Also, please take responsibility for you actions, it actually IS your fault that you wrote like that. And attacking Y2's reffing? Comeon, can't we all just get along.
  10. I read this several times and all I could say is wow. Please, for the sake of my eyes, at least make an attempt at acceptable grammar.
  11. Iowa is of course favored to win, but Minnesota is also undefeated in the toughest conference in the country. Penn State is also continuing to look tough. So who wins it? 1. Iowa 5-0, 12-0-1 overall Minnesota 5-0, 14-3 overall 3. Michigan 5-1, 10-3 overall 4. Penn State 4-1, 15-1 overall 5. Northwestern 4-2, 16-2 overall 6. Illinois 2-3-1, 4-4-1 overall 7. Michigan State 1-4, 9-5 overall Purdue 1-4, 6-7-1 overall 9. Ohio State 1-5, 2-9 overall 10. Wisconsin 0-3-1, 9-4-1 overall 11. Indiana 0-4, 10-6 overall
  12. Minnesota is unbeaten in the Big 10. Very impressive win over Ohio State. http://www.ncaa.com/news/wrestling/2011-02-06/minnesota-stays-unbeaten-big-ten
  13. Oddly enough, this seems to be the most noise Mishawaka fans have made all year.
  14. I found this over on The Mat: http://www.themat.com/section.php?section_id=3&page=showarticle&ArticleID=23097
  15. Maybe he had lost track and didn't know it was sudden death and thought he could take him down to win by 1 instead. Very strange.
  16. I agree Burnfield could beat him, makes it even more exciting. I'm really curious to see how Lefever and Ehr match up, I wish that could be a finals match. Do they have common opponents?
  17. Howe and Burroughs have very different styles, that's where I think it could be very interesting. Taylor's speed and finesse give him an edge, but Howe's ability to get offensive points with his defense would be a good match.
  18. Manchester College Wrestling is on Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Manchester-College-Wrestling/137810469606109
  19. David Taylor continues his domination to 27-0 with a tech fall over Sean MacMurray. Two young wrestlers, hopefully Sean can keep it closer next time. http://blog.pennlive.com/patriotnewssports/2011/02/penn_state_wrestling_rebounds.html
  20. I would be shocked if Taylor doesn't win it. He was so dominate in high school but I was skeptical of his college success with that weight jump, but I'm a believer now. I know it's a different class, but I would love to see him wrestle Howe or Burroughs to see how he stacks up.
  21. I had just woken up and realized what I said made no sense. Delaware County does have 7 schools with teams, I believe 10 schools total. Also a lot higher population. I would definitely say Adams County dominated. Wells County has 3 schools as well and didn't have near those results.
  22. Except for Yorktown having more. As usual I expect this regional to do very well at semi state too.
  23. I've never heard of any team complain about winning a title in a class system. They love it in Ohio and it's working in other states. Eventually it will go to classed, now it's a game of how long and how much resistance there will be along the way.
