  1. It’s gonna be POPPIN tomorrow night at 6pm! Don’t miss out on a great chance to get ready for folkstyle state! Enter Door 15 and Bring the PAIN! Snyder
  2. I can’t even put into words what a great person Gregg was. Loyal friend, amazing husband and father, and incredibly impactful football and wrestling coach. Gregg loved Mishawaka and loved modeling youths into being champions in all they did. Rest In Peace my friend.
  3. We are back it this Thursday at 6pm! Got a couple coaches bringing a group. Come get some elite technique and then lots of live. Great opportunity to get ready for Folkstyle State!
  4. Kyle you are bringing up a great memory. I know you and Smiley never won a college conference title. You must have been watching my VHS tape from 1999. Was a grueling day. Was able to grind out a win in the finals. I was always disappointed that I didn’t get to wrestle Cael Sanderson my senior year in the Wisconsin Parkside Open. It was an “Open”. He could have come. I lost to some other guy in the finals, but it was because I was frustrated Cael dodged me....again.
  5. CHO CHOOOOOOOOO Starting this week - March 4th. Thursdays at 6pm! Enter door 15 at Brownsburg High School. Leave mask on until practice starts. Please stay home if symptomatic. Room will be full of current and future hammers of all weights. We will continue with the same format that has worked so well in the past - some elite technique and then the gloves come off for a lot of live! First clinician is some random dude I hired after watching him wrestle a dog in an alley over a scrap of pork chop. The dog won but I was impressed with his effort. Kyle Ayersman 4X State Placer 3X State Champ 193-2 in high school Starter at Purdue He says he was an alternate to a world team, but I’m pretty sure he just made that up. #PainTrain Come get better! Snyder
  6. Maligned, Great job dealing with a chaotic situation. So often I hear “well it sucks but it is what it is and we can’t do anything about it”. This situation sucks and I’m so happy for the way it’s being handled. These programs shouldn’t be punished for a chance at dual state next year because COVID ended their seasons early this year. To be transparent, my little bro is the Head Coach at Bremen. I’ve seen what he’s doing there. 13 returning starters. Multiple sport athletes, but he still finds ways to get them on the mat in the off-season. Anytime we host a camp or clinic Bremen is there with a group. That’s a long freaking drive. See him and his staff at everything. It’s been fun watching him build that program. I think they will make some noise next year and are well deserving of a spot at team state.
  7. Not sure of the exact circumstances here, but I do want to say a few things: 1.) Mike has always been extremely supportive and complimentary towards Brownsburg Wrestling in any interaction I have had with him. Two thumbs up to the dude from Brownsburg Wrestling. 2.) The Brownsburg staff and Crown Point coaching staffs get along great. It is one of the many reasons we have committed to their tournament. They and their administration have always treated us with incredible hospitality at their tournament. 3.) If someone did talk “ish” about Kysen, he/she clearly doesn’t know the kid. In the hallways, in the classroom, and on the mat he is what we want representing Brownsburg wrestling. Snyder
  8. Brownsburg RWO is a GOOOOOOO for tonight! Come get some technique from STATE CHAMPION Alex Cottey. Then, the gloves come off with lots of live! Snyder
  9. WOW! That is impressive. I think it would come down to a vote, but great shot at a T-shirt with that mullet! Cottey better bring his A game!
  10. Room was popping tonight! We have another incredible opportunity to get better next Thursday at 6pm! Our clinician will be: Alex Cottey 2X State Runner-up Fargo All-American STATE CHAMPION Anyone with a better mullet game than Cottey gets a free T-Shirt. Good luck with that!
  11. Tick tock....tick tock Almost time for the first Brownsburg RWO -Thursdays at 6PM! I forgot to mention anyone who takes down Silas while he is watching gets a free t-shirt! Snyder
  12. It's going down...again! Brownsburg High School Enter Door 15 Thursdays - 6-7:30PM We get rocking next Thursday, March 5th. Get some elite technique and then bang it out live with a room full of current and future studs. Our first guest clinician: Silas Allred 2X State Champion Folkstyle National Champion Super 32 All-American Fargo All-American Ranked #2 in the country Committed to the University of Nebraska Don't miss this opportunity to pass your competition! #PainTrain Snyder
  13. That’s what I thought. Thanks for the response!
  14. Does this factor in out of state competition? Just curious. Discussing it with my staff. We saw 4 nationally ranked teams in Michigan earlier this year. Didn’t go so well for us. Lol
  15. Anyone who knows me, knows I love the dual part of wrestling. As I give an opinion, keep in mind I’m at Brownsburg. We don’t have a dog in the fight. We will be largest division regardless. Our goal is to win so it doesn’t matter if 8 or 12 teams go. Those that have an issue with the new system, would Joe’s suggestion/compromise take care of this - 4A and 3A have 8 teams. 1A and 2A have 12 teams. Is there a schedule or space concern I’m not aware of? If this is best for 1A and 2A schools, I’d say do it. Just my 2 cents. Thanks to everyone who makes Team State such a great event. Snyder
  16. @BBURGMatfan If you are a fan of us, you know we don’t care about seeds or rankings. I’ve always said rankings and seeds mean nothing, but they are great to grow the sport. “Hey we are ranked or seeded this”. It gets people talking about wrestling, which we need and Is great. Last year we were 4 or 5 seed at team state. No complaints from us. I would never in a million years want to seed this tournament. Our goal is to win. Doesn’t matter to us who we have when. We are either good enough to win or we aren’t. I don’t think any of the top teams hang 2nd or 3rd place banners...or display any trophy that isn’t first. Good luck to all teams. I’ll tell you I’m proud of those involved for making this such a great event. Snyder
  17. Good luck to the Cavemen! The Dogs are rooting for you! Note: No disrespect to Penn, but still a lot of love for the Cavemen.
  18. UncleJimmy, BHS TV streams pretty much all our home meets. We are at Avon tonight so we would need to hear from them on livestream.
  19. What I really like about this tournament is that by the end of the day we get 5 duals against Ohio teams. Personally, I really enjoy getting out of Indiana some during the season. At Mishawaka, we used to dual a couple Michigan powerhouses - Lakeshore and Lowell. At Brownsburg, we are better off financially and can travel more. Ohio last weekend, Michigan this weekend, and Illinois over break. As far as Harrison, OH tournament, most Ohio teams were down this year. Chad Dennis the Harrison Head Coach told me that himself about his own team. Regardless of dual scores and there not being an Ohio Powerhouse Team there this year, we always run into stud individuals. One year we went to this tournament and easily won every dual, but Ty Mills and Nathan Walton both lost. Last year we won every dual relatively easy, but State Qualifier Thierry Jean-Baptiste went. 2-3. State ranked Evan Lawhead went 2-3. 2X State Placer Kysen Montgomery lost. This year we won every dual in a lopsided fashion, but almost all of our guys got pushed. Logan Miller won in OT against big division #1 ranked Ohio kid. Drake Campbell grinded out a 3-0 win against a highly ranked Ohio kid. Peyton Asbury a 3-2 win against the stud brother of the kid Drake wrestled. Dorian Keys a 3-2 win in a bloody, physical match. State ranked Isaiah Street and Greg Glover took loses against absolute freaks. Whenever anyone asks, I always say this is a good and weird tournament. We should have success as a team, but some of our studs are gonna get pushed and some of them are going to lose. We will be back next year for sure. Snyder
  20. Brownsburg doesn’t talk and make guarantees or backhand compliments about coaching staffs or feeder programs. I would put my staff and our feeder programs against about anyone in state. Just wanted to make sure everyone knew that And we don’t need marketing. Have a large, passionate fan base and people seem to talk about us a lot...but thanks and good luck.
  21. I thought Brownsburg was going to get destroyed by a list of a dozen schools beginning last year? Something about how something of ours were going to get eaten. We weren't interested by the way. Throw out your backhand compliments. We are often criticized. It has worked out okay for us. When contenders are mentioned, we seem to always be in the conversation....unlike someone else, we didn't make a guarantee of winning or list all the schools that were going to beat another school. We just show up and do work. ...and to bring up feeder schools?!?!?!!?!? ? HAHAHAHAHAHA....both of our middle schools are strong. Our Elementary Dual team consistently competes at a high level. Yes, we have strong feeders. I know our coaching staff could never compete with that of Indy Schools, but yeah Smiley was an okay addition. Ayersman guy did okay. HWT coaches took a beginner to a state championship. I have a had a tad success here and at Mishawaka, etc. etc. Keep talking and we will keep working. Snyder
  22. Brownsburg is happy to announce we will be adding Brian Smiley to our staff! Brian was a State Champion and 4-year letter winner at Indiana University. Incredible credentials, but we are most excited because we have seen him in action as a coach and it’s impressive! Snyder
  23. Florida team that beat Avon is Lake Highland Prep. #6 team in country. Not just a normal Florida team. We have watched them. Impressive.
  24. Another great workout last night! Thanks to Kyle Hatch for showing some sick funk to score from a Russian Tie. Nasty stuff. Next week will be our last RWO. After next week, we are going to turn our attention towards preparing for the Disney Duals. We are going to use that Kyle Ayermsan guy we found walking around Brownsburg...he won a few State Championships in Indiana, but did lose TWO times in high school - half of his losses were to my wrestler - just saying...wrestled in the Big 10...that's okay, but it's not the CCIW... Take a ride on the #PainTrain next Thursday in the #BoneYard Snyder
