  1. For tonight - Thursday, March 7 - need to use Door 6 on the other side of the school.
  2. We are back at it tonight! Technique coming from: Revin Dickman 2X State Champion 2X Ironman Placer 4X Fargo All-American Ranked 9th in the country
  3. I have to say THECountyFan seems to know Kyle Joseph Ayersman really well. We all talk about how Kyle is “as soft as cold bacon”.
  4. Coach Frepan is an outstanding wrestling coach but he is an even better person. We are so proud to have him as part of the Brownsburg Wrestling Family and so thankful he won this battle. I can’t imagine how difficult it was for him and his family. You are freaking stud coach!
  5. Brownsburg RWO's start next Thursday, Feb. 29th! We will roll from 6PM - 7:30PM. Enter Door 15B. Walk halfway down the hallway and take stairs to the right. We will do technique and then go live. Will be partners of all sizes. Our first clinician will be: Jake Hockaday 3X State Champion Fargo All-American Committed to Oklahoma University Don't waste the off-season. Come get better!
  6. 150 was stacked this year for sure - off the top of my head Evansville had the State Champ, State Runner-up, and 4th place finisher. Plus, Tommy Gibbs who was ranked 3rd. He lost to Champ and drew into runner-up. I watched the 3rd place match at 150 and it made me hate our system. Hats off to both wrestlers in a great match, but Tommy beat both of them. 120 in our Regional you had the State Champ and 4th place finisher....Plus Preston Haines. Preston lost to the 4th place finisher and drew into the State Runner-up...so you had at semi-state #1, #2, #4 and Preston who has placed 2nd and 3rd at State. There were other great wrestlers at 120 and 150. Those are just the ones off the top of my head. If you don't have a vested interest in another semi-state, swing by Evansville next year. You will see dudes wrestling in the round to go that could be a semi-final state match.
  7. I know it happens at all semi-states some, but there were so many state placer level dudes left in Evansville. Not just from Brownsburg...studs going down for a lot of schools. It is freaking brutal - win your regional and draw into a top ranked guy who lost to another top ranked guy. Lose at regional to a state high placer and draw into another high state placer. This is always a concern for any semi-state, but it is freaking bananas at the Evansville Semi-State.
  8. Everyone can have an opinion on whether or not Caden should have wrestled with his knee injury....or whether or not Preston should have wrestled with his completely torn ACL. At Brownsburg, we listen to doctors with medical degrees. After meeting with multiple doctors (who have medical degrees and aren't googling it), both wrestlers were told they could push through the season if they chose....and get it fixed after the season. It was their decision with guidance from their family. We will continue to listen to people who get paid to be actual doctors.
  9. We would 100% be in. Great idea and something different for Indiana wrestling.
  10. There are more of them. lol. They all have a lot in common - incredibly humble, talented, and sportsmanlike. Like you hate losing to them but always find yourself rooting for them against anyone else. It’s a really awkward feeling that I still can’t wrap my brain around. Seriously, really weird. Win or lose they always show class and they are also always ridiculously good at wrestling. So much respect for that family….and we are their “rival”. I can’t root against them when they aren’t wrestling Brownsburg. Again, very strange. I’m going to go see a psychologist.
  11. Thank you to everyone who has reached out regarding Preston. Results of a CT scan and other tests have come back. Nothing is broken and he will make a full recovery. As far as what happened, the Mater Dei wrestler had been winning the entire match. An illegal slam was called. It was not intentional. Whether it was an illegal slam or not, I don’t really care. We were never taking a dive. Brownsburg doesn’t roll like that. It goes against everything we believe in. If I thought it was intentional, It would be a different story. There is no doubt in our mind that it was just a result of two dudes trying to punch their ticket to state. It was pretty chaotic as all of this was happening as I’m sure you can all imagine. Given that it was a neck/head injury, I wanted to give medical people access to Preston. Once they had time to check Preston out, I took that opportunity to talk to Preston. There was never any talk or consideration of taking a dive. Preston would never do that. He was in a lot of pain and upset. He has had a lot of adversity this season. He tore his ACL at IHPO and has been working through that pain and frustration all season. I just explained to Preston what had happened and that I was going to forfeit the match. I told him we were losing…and it would not be fair to take the trip to state away from the Mater Dei kid. Preston agreed and said he would never do that. There was no reversal of the call or anything. I just went up to officials and said we are forfeiting the match. Whoever said Preston was walking around saw someone else. He was taken out on a stretcher and to the emergency room. Snyder
  12. Carnahan is toughest regular season tournament in Indiana - and it’s not close. Not even a little bit. Snyder
  13. Congratulations Gunner and the Henry family! Wyoming got a great one! This kid has it all. Incredibly talented, mature, and outstanding work ethic. He’s also a tremendous leader. He cares about his teammates. Glad Wyoming doesn’t get him for a couple more years! Snyder
  14. 5:30pm, Thursday, it’s going down! Come get technique from 3x State Placer and 2X All-American Blake Mulkey. Then, lots of live.
  15. We have a couple of the heavier mats available. They are in solid condition and 3 sections each. There is no cost, but the purchaser would be responsible for removing and picking up the mats. If interested, you just need to contact my Assistant AD: kduncan@brownsburg.k12.in.us He wants them gone in next couple of weeks so move fast!
  16. Room was packed tonight! Wrestlers from Crawfordsville, Monrovia, Cascade, Rossville, Lawrence North, Ben Davis, Mooresville. Some great technique and lots of live. Next week we welcome Blake Mulkey as our clinician. 3X State Placer - 3rd, 2nd, 3rd. 2X All-American at Marian. Just placed 4th last weekend. Here are some shots from tonight:
  17. Tick tock…tick tock. BOOOOMMMM! First Brownsburg RWO is Thursday, March 2nd at 5:30pm. Enter Door 15. Take stairs to your immediate right and you are there. Room will be full of state level guys. Our JV are back to back JV Dual State Champions so the room will be full of great partners of all sizes. Don’t waste the off-season. Don’t have regrets when the whistle blows next season. Come get better! First RWO we have Coach Schmaltz! 3X State Placer Fargo All-American Wrestled in the Big 10 at Purdue You will get some elite technique and then we will go live! Snyder
  18. My dude Ryan making a comeback! What is up my dude? Put the bottle down and think for a second. Are you from Crown Point or Center Grove?…no, you are the Cathedral dude who hates transfers. . That is my dude. Now running your mouth about Brownsburg having 9 qualifiers, 7 placers, 4 in the finals, and 3 champs. Add to that doing it going through the hardest route possible. Dude find a hobby and get out of the bar. This is high school wrestling man. You need some serious help.
  19. Regarding John Rushenberg not taking a win on an illegal move or whatever: John and the entire Rushenberg family are all class all day. I wasn’t there and have seen nothing. I’m completely confident in saying there was never a moment in John’s mind or the Rushenberg family to take a dive. That is not how they roll. All class and hard work all day. They all have strong character no matter the situation.
  20. Brownsburg won for the 2nd year in a row.
  21. In my opinion, to be a rivalry it has to go back and forth. Crown Point has kicked us in the mouth the last couple of years. We need to actually beat them for this to be a rivalry. Snyder
  22. I can not be blamed for Kyle’s eating habits. He eats like an 8 year old child. You see proof of him removing freaking bacon. He also picks pepperoni off his pizza. We question his behavior all the time. It’s embarrassing to us all. Be better Kyle. As a side note, Kyle did use his 3X powers to hit 18 green lights in a row on the way home. It was impressive to watch. The region should be very proud of that accomplishment.
  23. When our travel rule recently changed, Ironman had already been closed for new entries for a while. They made an exception because of the late rule change in Indiana. Our ultimate goal is to bring our entire team. I agree with Joe on not bringing someone who is not ready, though. Crown Point has several more returning placers than us and beat us multiple times last year. That got them their whole team in, which we completely understand. After some discussion and negotiation, I got our number to 7 with the understanding our goal is to bring our entire team in the future. We saw at least a couple teams at Disney that I believe are bringing their entire team to ironman. We did well against both. We honesty just appreciate them working with us to get some of our guys in given the late change! Snyder
  24. Just wanted to jump in here. The rules for Community 1 and 2 are very clear. 17 wrestlers on your roster - 3 can be from another school system. We all have to load weight certification sheets to show school system and lowest permitted weight class. For middle school guys, I have to get a letter from middle school AD saying what middle school they attended and that it is a feeder to Brownsburg. No clue about other team’s situations but I believe they check paperwork. I’ve heard numerous stories from coaches about being called out if paperwork doesn’t seem legit. Doesn’t mean someone isn’t getting away with it. Just mean paperwork is required. Lastly, Disney isn’t about a “vacation” and matches for many of us. I’m not saying it’s Fargo, but it also isn’t playing with Mickey Mouse as I’ve heard some say. Many teams take it very serious. We will have fargo representation, but for the last couple of months at Brownsburg our guys have been training to win the Disney Duals. We took close to 20 Brownsburg Wrestlers there. The last two months we have had the best “open mats” we have had since the regular season. Our guys were motivated and we got better. I’ve never found any camp or tournament in over 20 years to better motivate my entire team than the Disney Duals. Snyder
  25. Joe, everything Kyle said is untrue. The match is in the works. I’m working with his agent. Most likely “the match” will be at the end of practice. Kyle, give the people what they want!
