  1. Well it wasn?t seen, because of a bogus call by a referee.... but back in the locker room after South Adams Jim West was DQ'd... he looked at me and said, darn it coach.... I won?t even get to wrestle in my new singlet....... The Medal Rounds was the agreement for the guys this year. No more Friday night singlet?s....and Jim West said he was going to medal, and the Starfire White Special Edition didn't even get to be seen. We will retire that version for him, and a new one will be unveiled for next year!
  2. We would also like to thank the Crawfordsville Coaching staff for their support and understanding in this matter. Your comments were of the upmost professional and appreciated. Thank You
  3. We have not had any success with anyone involving our situation with Jim West. If you did not see the instance let us fill you in. In the consolation round Jim was wrestling Dylan McBride of Crawfordsville, and was called for a flagrant misconduct. Flagrant Misconduct: any physical or non-physical act occurring before, during or after a match that the referee considers to be serious enough to disqualify a contestant from a match or tournament. We can assure you there was no malicious intent involved. Both men were pummeling and working for head position. There was no stop in the action to give a warning; there was no rearing back of the head with intent to harm the other wrestler. After the call, the other young man was very confused, and could not believe what the referee had called. He stated to me, that Jim did not do anything wrong and he wanted to continue wrestling. We all have coached kids with dreams. Jim West goal for his high school career was to stand on the podium at the state finals. From the time that he stepped foot on the mat his freshmen year, he told me that he wanted to earn a medal at the state finals. He had earned that medal, and then it was stripped from him by a referee who made a very irresponsible call. The referee in question is number 11 in your State Finals Program. We are writing you in desperate need of help. I know that there is no way to go back and wrestle this match, but I think the least that the IHSAA can do is to give Jim the 8th place medal. We have not talked to a single person that has not agreed with us on this. Please let me know of any advice or help that you could provide. Jim West is a top notch kid, he was even more composed then the remaining folks in the entire Conseco Fieldhouse, and walked over to the Crawfordsville Staff and shook hands. Thank You, South Adams Coaching Staff Please review the video clip: http://www.flowrestling.org/videos/play/306619
  4. The video, I am sure will be released in due time. I will not publish the video....until all efforts to resolve this matter has been attempted...
  5. i still feel like i could just vomit. i have watched the tape.... Over and over and over.... There were so many other options that could have been done in this incident. I guess in the heat of the moment..... Both officials saw something the rest of the entire Conseco Fieldhouse didnt see to include both wrestlers. To big Jim, you will always be one of Starfire Wrestling's Greatest!
  6. You ran from Bellmont to New Haven! I am guessing you missed the game before you got there! hahahahaha
  7. Yep, I saw this too. There was alot of emotions involved...No excuses to be made, you should always be ready to wrestle.... and you should wrestle to the end. I wish the best of luck to the finisher. Tear it up!
  8. what about that guy who does most of the amazing graphics and T-shirt designs for Indiana Mat! He throws a good post out there once and awhile... And back in the day could go all three periods with Y2 on the boards... I think i got him once in OT but I am getting old cant remember....
  9. I was tricked! They said I'd get free stuff! But all and all.... I never had a son.(wrestling coaches curse!).. So I thought...what a better way to have 30 sons a year, that I can give back in March and have the summers off!
  10. With Stats like these.... this is a great tool to use with AD's to help set up a more competitive schedule. Administrators do not like to see their schools name below other schools on any list! haha This is great stuff! Great Work!
  11. hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahah ok fine... geeeeeze
  12. Darn it!!! I thought this was about me... Coach Sparks!
  13. A seed is a seed... just that, it really doesn't mean a whole lot, unless your trying to set up a better bracket position. I did not hear too many coaches complain one bit about the seeds that were discussed and agreed on by all that were present. Most of the questionable seeds (everyone is wondering about) I am sure were strategically planned or set up. In addition, several teams in the Jay County Sectional never see one another head to head, or have any common opponents... I think most of the coaches that were in attendance were just happy that the meeting went very smooth. Saturday will be a fun filled, action packed day of wrestling. Good Luck to all!
  14. Well as stated....It sould be a good tournament! Just as long as its not decided by .5 points like last year..... That was a heartbreaker! hahahahaha

    WOW.....

Well now... with injuries, illness, weight management, attitude, opponent, line up shifts happen all the time. A coach is going to and sometimes have to shift things around for the team in a dual meet situation. You just never know, yes for the kid that gets bumped out of the line up it sucks. Especially if he is a work horse and does all the right things. But, we have this conversation with the kids before every match...don't take it personal, take it for the team! And at the end of the year when its tourney time... well they control their own destiny!
  19. Thank you Gentlemen! I just get so fired up for Wrestling! I Love This JOB!
  20. The Pacers? as a wrestling team.... awwww we'll get used to it! hahaha Welcome Aboard!
  21. First I?d like to say this is a great topic! The one thing I was always told was this? Nobody ever said Wrestling was easy, Nobody ever said you wouldn?t feel any pain, Nobody ever said that there are times you wouldn?t get hungry. You are not the first wrestler in the history of the sport to suffer, and you will not be the last one to suffer. Be proud of the fact that you suffer, brag about how much you suffer?.but when you complain about something that everyone else is going through in the room it just brings the team down. If Wrestling was easy, we?d never have an issue with numbers, everyone would be doing it. Those kids, who go through practice everyday, day in and day out, those kids that suffer pain, stride for perfection, and need carried out of the room at the end of the night they are so exhausted are the tough kids. The kids that stay after practice, bust it year around and put up with all the negativity they get from people that just don?t understand wrestling are the tough kids. Those kids that endure a sport where almost everything about it sucks, until you step on that mat?. When your foot sinks softly into that mat as you walk towards the center to shake hands?. There is no greater feeling in the world and all of the pain and suffering quickly goes away for that brief moment of silence right before the whistle blows.
