  1. I think the one lesson I learned that has stuck with me the most is that it doesn't matter what people say to you or about you...What is SUPPOSED to happen, or what is "100% for sure" is anything but! If you worship you opponant, he has already won, if you fear your opponant, he has beaten you...He should be more worried about you than you ever will be him. Respect each person you face, and regardless of the outcome, that respect should only increase on both peoples part. Words spoken, written, or read that demean are the words of a weak mind. To allow these weaknesses to figure into your defeat is YOUR fault, not the speakers. ANYONE can win at ANY GIVEN TIME. This is WHY we actually have the matches! "Favorites" go out the window when the first whistle blows. Prepare for each and every match as YOUR match, you only have a few of those glorious events in this life!
  2. I think he did that to A LOT of people! ;D Mark is a pretty good egg though!
  3. I wrestled in the Old Capitol Classic in Corydon when they were in the old building! Dressing ina Science class room, the wrestling room was the Band room...and it was FREEKIN COLD EVERYWHERE, but there was some GREAT competition there! AND - It's only gotten stronger since! It was a hoot! For my money it is one of the best tourneys in tthe Southern end of the state competition wise year in and year out.
  4. Knowing that wrestlers currently competing log on here and read over the postings, I was wonder what those of us who are no longer competing could offer in the way of wisdom gained from our wrestling days. How has wrestling shaped your life since leaving competition? What good memories do you have of those days? What bad memories do you have? Is there a personal expirence you can share that would benefit these young people? If so what is it?
  5. Thanks for reminding me once again HOW OLD I AM!!!! ;D
  6. Merry Christmas Fellow Wrestling Fans! And For All You Wrestlers...GET AWAY FROM THE DINNER TABLE, You Have To Make Weight Soon! ;D
  7. This is one crazy year for the SIAC. The fact there are some REALLY strong individual performers from Evansville Harrison, North, Central, and Memorial adds some really interesting facets to this one. Reitz is the real deal... It's all going to boil down to who wrestles to their seeds as individuals, or more importantly who wrestles ABOVE their seed. You will see some really great matches in wrestle backs in the SIAC this year that just may be the key!
  8. This brings up the question: What tourneys (Other than the Merrillville SS!) are run well given the poor facilities they have to work with? I ask this focused on the positive not the negative mind you! Let's give credit to those who make the most of what they have! The one that comes to mind in the Southwest is the Mater Dei Holiday Tourney. It's a very well run tourney, but the gym is far to small for the number of teams and spectators. They do the best with what they have, but it's a real sardine can of a day!
  9. One REALLY busy weekend of wrestling! I am not sure you can pick a clear cut favorite in this one...
  10. Great...We just find a nice, stable home, and DAD gets his hormones all in a knot and goes off and finds him a woman to distract him from the important stuff. ;D Well all I can say is CONGRATS!

that is a sure way to draw a boo, that's how i got my first one! ;D Want another one? ;D I wouldn't give you another one...You seem like a decent fella! ;D aw, come on man. i got enough problems! :-*
  12. Still a long way to go till then, but 125 is fairly well stocked from what I have seen.
  13. Just a question... With Bloomington North and Castle both there, will this effect the seedings after this weekends tourney at Bloomington North? At the very least the records are no longer accurate, not to mention any head to head losses... Like I said, just a question...
  14. It will be a tall order...I am sure he is a quality kid, but 125 is an interesing weight class in the Evansville SS this year.

  20. BlueBolt

    IHSWCA

that is a sure way to draw a boo, that's how i got my first one! ;D Want another one? ;D
  21. My Definition of "Tough"? The kid who shows up each and every day...Never appears in the varsity line up, maybe gets J.V. mat time, but is ALWAYS there and working. The one key componet of "Tough" is CHARACTER...For my moeny it is much easier to show up if your reaping the common rewards. To show up each and everyday and never receive the spotlight...Now that is One Tough Kid.
  22. Not sure what was supposed to happen... But my dog won't come out from under the bed and the neighbors cat is bald now!
  23. Oh there will be blood on the floor, the walls, and the ceiling after that one! ;D
