  1. PS What was the extent of his injury? That is a tough one to swallow.
  2. barring injury or upset..... 103 Shepard vs Pike 112 Boomsma vs Wedding, Welch vs Smith 119 Fisher vs Moody (2 SQ's) 125 Case vs Judy or Brown 130 Mellif vs Brawn or Heald 135 Rueger vs Van Horn 140 Every match that doesn't involve Milton 145 Waters vs Sims, Waddell vs Sampson 160 Fudurich vs Weikel 171 Boots vs Goldman 189 Eads vs Price 215 The bottom 4 guys are all pretty even 285 Vandeman vs Wimpleberg Those are your matches to keep an eye on...IMO
  3. Oh man, too many to remember them all. I don't know if I can do them all justice. Here are a few that stand out... MD's Greg Schaefer- his two titles and his epic battles with Vega Happe vs McDonald for like the 100th time Hardy PR finally beats Willams HA Jankowski loses to Tabor, then avenges the loss at Team State Watching Mitch Napier pin a dude in a cradle that had his OWN leg in it! Fryar's throw to beat Wagner MD's run of champs in 03 Ruggerri's run of throws on his way to a title Hobbs (BG) hit a tilt as time expired to advance And how about the longest name in State Finals history...Sunungura Rusunungukooo!!! Whitehead LOVED saying his name! I agree that MSA will hold a warm place in my heart. I loved that place! (Remember when shaved ice was $1.75?) Too many to to recall I love this sport.
  4. Maybe it is a covert mission. Or could it be Mission Impossible? Or maybe just The Mission.....
  5. Let's all hope that SS NEVER leaves Eville. There is no other venue around that can provide what Roberts Stadium does. Ample parking, ample seating, and the wrestlers will tell you (from the floor) there is nothing else like it for a SS. The SPACE on the floor is a tournament director's dream. You have the flexibility to do whatever you want or need. The atmosphere there is awesome and every kid down there deserves every second of it. And it is HYPE'D. It is several steps up from a normal gymnasium. It is an excellent building block to prep wrestlers for the different "feel" the next level (State) has. I've also heard that Roberts would not be torn down until the new one was all the way up. I agree w/ theckman, I know I'm prejudice but that drive to Seymour sucked!
  6. Bluebolt, Totally Agree. I was referring to the PR vs NO match up in my previous post. Upon further review, I remembered Backes was a SSQ too. SO 4 SSQs meeting first roud....WOW!!!! Chambers, You dont have to be modest. 152 is loaded as well!!!
  7. What Kool aid have you been drinking? 103 Hall easy?! This one has been and will be close again 112 Kuhn is a STATE MEDALIST. He may pin Dunkel. Dunkel has a tough match in Goebel and then a tall task vs Welch or Wedding. 119 Does the name Moody (SQ) ring a bell? Moody vs Griz will be a great match 125 is weak?! This weight class is so stacked a former SS qualifier may not get out 130 The Central Sectional could sweep this 145 Simms not in the Finals? Wow 171 Stein, Weiss and decent do no go in the same sentence. This is and will be a hellacious battle every week. These are two of the top wrestlers in the Regional. Both will be state medalists. 285 Wasn't CA vs RE 1-0? Not an easy weight class to win. The top 3 here are solid.
  8. Good to hear. For the record, I was not blaming him. I sympathize with him and commend his efforts.
  9. I agree. That is what I was hinting at. That no one commented on this and the ramifications that follow. An early seed like that can impact a wrestler's run at state. Kudos to Shelbyville for being smart enough to set their kid up for success. Im guessing Wright dominated in the finals as well?
  10. Those might be two of the worst posts I've ever seen. Take responsibility for your actions. The crowd did not hold a gun to his head to make him do what he did. Don't put anything on the ref or the crowd. Laying blame is the first sign of guilt. I am upset that this happened under Coach Mastison. He is a great indiividual. Just goes to show the uphill battle he has inherited.
  11. Hodge must have scored more points than him.
  12. Ha Ha Ha.......Touche ff, good observation. "Goin out with a bang huh?"
  13. What is the word on the Wright-Keiffer match? Were there not any comments on the board about this seeding? I was hoping to hear some stories about the seeding mtg.
  14. Looks like Y2 has two more poor souls to ban. He gets to flex on some unsuspecting prey! Poor Rookies commentating in the Results area. Someone should put a notification up about that! HA HA :
  15. Leek Princeton vs Escobedo Griffith Neagle (sp?) over Dosher MD was a huge upest
  16. This match will be worth the price of admission EVERY WEEK!!!
  17. People keep picking Steele to do something big. What has he done? Who has he beaten? People picked him to beat Whetstine at 140 and Steele (I think) got majored. At 145 look for a hellacious semi matchup between Prasek and Voegel. ***To North fans. If you don't like it, use it as bulletin board material. I'm all for that!
  18. I guess one of the Moderators did not find the sarcasm of my "zing" appropriate. So I shall rephrase... Thanks Bob!!!
  19. You might want to take a closer look at your seeds. MV is opposite of ME and RE and ME are same side at 215
  20. 165 lbs.- #13 Paul Young (24-4) vs. #1 Andrew Howe (20-0)--Young dec No bias there!! ha ha
  21. Man, I guess MV is "just a bunch of cheatin, lying, violent motha lovas". BAD BOYS BAD BOYS, WHAT YA GONNA DO? WHAT YA GONNA DO WHEN THEY COME FOR YOU?!
