  1. Don't be cheap. This website sure as heck does not run on good looks.
  2. His dad is coaching at Highland. I thought he was there last year but didnt wrestle. Great job on the magazine. Indiana wrestling will never fade with the strong support that you guys give the sport.
  3. Some movement in the region. From what I know Whiting, Hammond Clark, Gary Roosevelt and East Chicago all have made coaching changes.
  4. I meant Carson Whaley. Saw a bracket the he qualified at 152. Does that make 8?
  5. Will strength of state play a factor in seeding? Will having 3 or 4 divisions hurt a guy in seeding over a kid from IN that only has 1 class?
  6. Pretty sure the Michigan kid was a SQ which makes it 7 of 12. Add in Lefever and Hollins and it looks to be a tough weight.
  7. Kral did what he was suppose to do. He went out and wrestled hard and won a state title. With that said I think the refs really blew that semi-finals match. Wrestling on the edge is the refs discretion to blow the whistle and stop it. Even if Robinson did not have 2 feet in on the takedown the refs let them continue to wrestle. He then did get both feet in and had complete control. I would not have a problem with the call if the whistle was blown right away and they ruled them out of bounce but that did not happen. I'm also pretty sure the rule states that if a wrestler tries to circle back in and the inside wrestler blocks him from coming back it that could be stalling on the inside man. Kral mostly posted on his opponents and blocked them from workingback in. Again that is not on the wrestler. If the ref isn't going to stop it then why would he change his gameplan. I do wish some of these refs would stop letting coaches influence their calls.
  8. I think it's more because most duel meets probably DON'T have much room from where the circle ends and the wood floor begins.

  14. I remember a few years ago there was a kid wrestling in the finals at state that they announced was also a varisty basketball player. I believe it was at a very small school. Does anyone remember who it was?
  15. How common is it for high school and jr high/middle school kids to warm up together? I'm sure the high school kids take the sport a lot more serious than the younger guys.
  16. Are you assuming that Lentz gets upset at regionals and draws Cleaveland? I don't think anyone else has a chance of beating him.
  17. What happened to the 215 that predicted SBW wins? I kind of expected to see him in the finals but didn't even see him in the top 4. Was he injured?
  18. I think this is a big step for wrestling. Make sure you tune in so they keep doing it! http://themat.com/section.php?section_id=3&page=showarticle&ArticleID=19965
  19. I was reading themat.com preview and it says that Howe has not allowed a takedown since the Midlands Championships. That is impressive.
  20. wineing? May I ask where you attended school?
  21. I'm not sure how many people check that board but I was browsing through it today and saw a topic about how only 3 states have a true state champion. Those states are CA, NJ, and Indiana. Right now the debate is that our champs don't compare to a lot of other states. Feel free to go and let them know about Tsirtsis, Hernandez, Escobedo, Howe, and Humphrey(sorry if I'm missing anyone) . They are also debating class wrestling in the same thread. Interesting. Here is the link: http://www.thematforums.com/myforum/?show_topic=70037&forum_id=4
  22. I feel that the ref saw the pin and went to make the call but the kid moved his back off the mat and he stopped. That SHOULD have been a pin. With that said, I was under the impression that only one coach could go to the scorers table to argue the call. I think I saw 3 or 4 of the CP coaches on the mat and two that ran over to the scorer. I do not understand why there wasn't even a warning on them. At the EC sectional i saw 1 LC coach walk to the table to argue a call and was ignored by the ref. When the ref walked over I saw the coach mouth "i can't even explain myself?" or something of that and the team was hit with a point. So I guess my question would be should there be a better guideline for the refs to follow as far as team points go for this?
  23. We plan on starting a club next year. We are mostly doing it so that our Jr. High kids can have some wrestling experience before they get to the HS level. Can someone help me on some of the things I MUST have, as well as some ideas on how to increase the numbers?
