    I don't think that the Merrillville Semi-State will have ALL of the champs, but they will have the majority. I think Shrewsbury is definitely a lock. No one has really been that close to him either. He hasn't been taken down all year.

    with a score of 15-8 how could it have been back and forth so much when one of estradas moves was a 5 point move? Because everytime I looked over, they would be tied, then Sean would go ahead, plus they were flip-flopping with reversals. And it was 15-10 not 15-8.

    Were you there? Just asking, because if you were, how many calls went CP's way - ONE - and it wasn't even during the Merrillville match. Maybe you can become a ref and police coaches into sitting there and keeping quiet. Even when their wrestlers are getting screwed the way the Halsted did.

    I was watching the CP-Merrillville match, but you couldn't help but watch this match. It was back & forth - back & forth. Good job to both wrestlers.

    That is so not true. Once the chairs moved to the east side of the mat they didn't move from that side except for the pin non-pin call. All the fans (besides CP fans) have blown this whole subject out of proportion and is just plain ridiculous. Vlink and Rodriguez went to bat for their wrestlers and got upset when horrible calls were made. It's over - move on.

    And, did Vlink and Rodriguez do it all wrong then? Please explain. I'm sure by the Roach-Santos match, they were fed up with all the bad calls during the entire tournament.

    Trust me, nobody was whining louder than the Merrillville fans. Anybody that doesn't think that Stevens gave up back points, doesn't know a lick about wrestling. It was THAT obvious that he was on his back. Halsted got screwed - plain and simple. Good job Bulldogs! Make us proud at Center Grove.

    Can you have a team point deducted without a warning? By the way, CP coaches only went to the table 1 time during the Portage match, and in my opinion, it was completely justified. Should the CP coaches just sit there quietly while the refs were making horrible calls? I would not call what they did "working the refs". And, yes, Pendoski was famous for doing this, as is Maldonado.

    You must be from Merrillville - they are the only people the 2 "ladies" are nice to. Plus, you must get to sit in the "reserve" Pirates Cove.

    Actually, the Merrillville AD is on the IHSAA board. Never gonna change. And, yes, they are very rude people running the show.

    I definitely would not place a bet on this match because they are both great wrestlers. Cashe is tough and I respect him for bumping to face the toughest competition. Jason, however, is one of the smartest wrestlers I've seen. He learns from his matches, and when he makes mistakes - he fixes them. Can't wait.

    maybe not after he gets pinned by myers Haha we will see what happens....Myers is a big strong kid, but i dont think he can hang technically with Runyan... Im goin with Runyan by 2 or 3 Booker - have you seen Myers wrestle? He can hang with anyone technically.

    I'm picking Hawkins at 112 and Travis for HWT. Travis is a beast. He's huge and strong as an ox. Who all has Fitzgerald wrestled?

    No reason to go up...He already beat March pretty handily and im pretty sure has the upper hand on Roach... Mville semi state will tell it all...I got a feelin hes gonna edge Roach out in a close one! JMO tho Dillon is an excellent wrestler, but I would not say he has the upper hand on Roach. It will definitely be a good match, but Roach should be able to pull it out.

    to be completely honest, they're both great wrestlers, and i dont think there's a way of predicting this match. they both have their flaws, and it just comes down to who uses the others to their advantage. I watched most of Shrews' matches last year (before Salas), and most of his matches didn't make it out of the first period. He wasn't used to going the distance, so he got gassed. This year, he is in much better shape and looks much more aggressive. I also agree with listenup, NO WAY graber beats shrewsbury. And please elaborate wrestlingbabe... what are their flaws?! : haha okay well i know i'm still dwelling on this from last yr's conference tourny, but i had always been a fan of shrews, there's absolutely no doubt in anybody's mind that he's an amazing wrestler, but when he faced salas in the finals, he sort of just gave up after he got taken down. granted he worked hard enough to make it to state finals, i kind of lost a lot of respect when he didn't keep trying when there was plenty of time left in the period. to be completely honest he does have the upper hand in his weightclass, and drew knows that. it's not a surprise that he's biting his nails over the match, but drew also knows shrews's weaknesses as well as his own.
