  1. It is part of the school. Andersons Wigwam was part of that school as well until they closed a school on the south side of Anderson a quite a few years ago, and moved AHS to the old madison hights location. Now the wigwam is a stand alone facility with a few offices there as well as a pool in the complex. so you mean when New Castle has a basketball game, its in that stadium? Wow....hope they get alot of fans! Not sure if they sell it out any longer, but I have been in that facility when it was full, as well as the wigwam in Anderson when it was full. These were way back in the day, before class BB, when the NCC was consistently producing state teams as well as state champs quite a few years in the 70's and 80's
  2. I know but that was a softball, I had to take a swing at it....... ;D
  3. Wow, what a coincedence, 2 wrestlers with the exact same names, and virtually identical records winning state at the same weight. :
  4. I have my very own Indianamat.com computer program where I enter each wrestler and it calculates the percentile chance of moving on. Criteria are as follows Record Region Strength of Competition Shoe Size Mothers Maiden Name Known blood line to one Mr. Ditka Bench Press *If they were recruited Under-rated Over-Rated If they have "made any noise" this year Favorite shaved Ice Flavor As you can see it takes a little investigating, but pays out in the end! Its foolproof. *The user doesnt agree nor condone such ideas. If you take this serious, please punch yourself in the face. Why is everyone so interested in uncle mike?

  6. NC = New Castle East Chicago is 3rd largest high school gym in Indiana As of 2/24/2004 in the USA today, these were the largest high school gyms in the USA Indiana New Castle (Chrysler) 9,325 Indiana Anderson 8,996 Indiana East Chicago 8,296 Indiana Seymour 8,110 Indiana Richmond 7,929 Texas Dallas (Alfred J. Loos) 7,500 Indiana Elkhart 7,373 Indiana Michigan City 7,304 Indiana Gary (West Side) 7,217 Indiana Marion 7,054 Hmm, I dont see Merriville on here, but I do see a few other high schools in the area that might have a little more room for all you grumpy Mville fans. Any reason why these schools dont step up?
  7. Da region is arrogant, but as someone once said, "if you can do it, it aint bragging". Until another area of the state replaces Da Region in producing more state champs, then they have earned the right to boast a bit about their accomplishments.
  8. I think that'd be a consolation round. You don't have to wrestle "back." Not to worry, I was just being my annoying self, trying to get a rise out of a few people. ;D I tink dat it is a great idea/ do you really think the best 4 always get to da big show ? No way the 4 best always make it out of the SS. Every yer you have state qualifiers from the previous year going at it in the ticket round. I have not studied the brackets enough to know if there is an Eppert vs. Schoettle (sp) match this year, but I do know of a few state qualifiers that wont make it back due to a ticket round match.
  9. Although true, I wouldn't want to go around quoting Kelvin Sampson, especially in this state. That was to easy of a target, you might as well of phoned that one in.

  11. Isnt that a wrestle back to a true 3rd place?????? ;D
  12. 140 pound football players here at warren are on the freshman team. They wont talk to you here unless you are over 180. ;D
  13. 32 kids from a conference with schools of that size is indeed impresive, I believe the MIC has only 35 kids at SS and our schools are very large.
  14. If you really want to put everyone in a tizzy seed it the way they do the schoolboy duals. It is seeded based on how the team from your state did the year before. So as the teams from different super regionals advance, they improve the seeding for the team that wins that super regional next year. This is a very arbitrary way to do it, but no more so then a blind draw, and if certain areas of the state are consistently producing state champs, or runners up, then that will be seen in the seeding from year to year. It has to be better then trying to have a seeding meeting. Of course I would like to read the minutes of that meeting.
  15. This is from Ed in another post on the board. The rooms that he has are filled with some of the toughest kids in the state. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- CIA Indy is now setting our spring sessions. 16. So off season work with RTC's, National tourney's and such are right up there in your mind? Yes even if you go and get your head handed to you at the nationals, you need to find out where you are weak, and figure out what to do to fix it. And the RTC's help you by getting a different coach, meeting new wrestlers, and finding new moves that work for or against your style. Get the wrestler into a CIA, or something along those lines. I am partial to Ed Pendoski at CIA, he has helped my son every year he has been going to him.
  17. Good work out partners Seeking out the toughest competition in or out of your area Mental toughness
  18. I was thinking more about seating capacity, but I guess holding the required number of mats should be a consideration as well. :-[
  19. Great, now I have to go find a dictionary. Nihil- The rejection of all moral principles or religion as the only means of obtaining social progress; the denial of all reality in phenomena; in 19th centyry Russia the opposition to all constituted authority or government. Hmm, Unless he is a commie, I am going to guess that you are saying he is a person lacking morals, I wanna party with someone like that. ;D Rent the movie "The Big Lebowski" Warrendad and you will see the connections. Definately not a commie....."at least that's an ethos" DUDE......
  20. Hinkle, Mackey, Assembly Hall would all be decent choices as well, but I prefer to keep it in Indy. I tried to find the attendance figures for last years sessions. I am going to guess close to 12,000 to 15,000 for the finals.

  22. I would not know what it is like to go to the same gym twice for a sectional. my sons 1st year as varsity, we went to Franklin Central, the 2nd year we went to Shelbyville, and this year it was held at Warren. One thing that is not good about it, is you dont ever get to establish a routine. On the other hand, if that routine did not work for you then it might be a good thing.
  23. Sean, it has been so long since someone put both of your shoulders to the mat, I am not sure you would know what it felt like anyway. ;D Good luck to both of you this weekend, and to all my northern friends.
  24. bbulldog152, The reason why I did not select the Flodder Corsaro match is I know next to nothing about Flodder. I have not seen him wrestle at all. At 140 Butts and Decker wrestled at the county meet with Butts securing an escape very late to win. That should be a great match. The second round is where things are going to get interesting at NC, we have some great potential match ups there.
