  1. Just assuming a visit thought I read on flo that he would not be there because of a college visit. Maybe Indiana?? Is Bloomington considered south? ;D
  2. Too bad was really hoping to see Tsirtsis vs. Whitford or even Tsirtsis vs. Skoniezny. What college does he have a visit for?
  3. We may have a couple of finalist and maybe 5-8 AA this year. Boston-Finalist Brooks- AA Phillips-AA Malloy-low AA Jackson-low AA Tsirtsis- Read on another forum he wont be there? Any truth to that. sure hope he is and him Whitford wrestle. Finalist if he goes Sliga- Finalist
  4. I think everybody said the same thing about tsirtsis and quiorga. Is James the next Tsirtsis??
  5. Seems if Tsirtsis does wrestle 138 at Super 32 that is most likely the weight he will wrestle this year? I wonder if he plans on going 133 in college? Oklahoma state would be a nice fit. One year in the room with Oliver would be a good experience for his redshirt year. I don't know is Tsirtsis too big for 133? I would have never thought Angel would have been a 125 his whole career.
  6. Congrats Jason! Break the Fargo curse for the Tsirtsis family. Short was tough to score on but nice takedown in the second for Jason. Nice Job!
  7. I watched a few of Jake Short's matches and he is a great defensive wrestler (tough to score on). He is strong and big for 140. Will be a tough match for Jason. They have never wrestled to my knowledge. One or two periods may go to the ball grab I have a feeling. Tomasello is tough, I think Brooks wins this matchup in 2 periods. Good luck to both guys. Really hope Jason pulls it off. Alex had a couple of seconds and couple of thirds when he was wrestling and Jason has a 4th, 3rd and 2nd. Would be nice to see him get 1st.
  8. Y2, Don't know if you have looked at the brackets, but even if Tsirtsis loses by dec. in the last RR match does he still go to the finals? Is it a total of all points scored throughout the tournament or just the RR points to decide? Thanks
  9. Nice!! His weight class is deep. Hope he keeps it going, be nice to see him bring the title this year
  10. Y2, Don't know if anybody can do it but if anybody can tape the Tsirtsis/Spearman match coming up that would be great!! Should be a good one, Flonationals rematch. The match is on Mat 4.
  11. Thanks I got it now. I just did not understand the "Brown-# of next opponent" but got it now thanks.
  12. Y2 or anybody else who knows how to read the brackets. After following this tournament for many years I still don't understand who wrestles who in the next round. Anyways who does Tsirtsis wrestle next? Is it Spearman? Can somebody explain how you know who someone wrestles next. I don't understand the numbers in the boxes. Thanks. Going to be some good matches tomorrow in the Jr's!

    Fargo

Stein lost quite a few matches at national duals, but he still could make a comeback and grab AA if things go right. I guess just looking at some of his losses at the duals he was beat soundly. Fargo

I would say from that list here are possible AA's for the guys. Micic (Think at this weight he could be a finalist) Brooks outside shot at AA Todd shot at AA Tsirtsis (possible finalist) Jackson outside shot AA Sliga (possible finalist) This is all I really see, but you never know with draws. McKinley could AA but 135 is going to be really deep and tough. This is just a really hard tournament to AA in.
  15. Anybody else think he might land in Michigan?? Don't know if he worked with Bormet when he was younger, but with Russell being a senior at UM and Pritzlof and Bormet as assistance I could see Tsirtsis going there. If McCauley and Thielke transfer and they get Massa and Tsirtsis that is going to be a nice lineup. I am interested to see where Tsirtsis goes. I am sure Howe will transfer to Michigan too, but doubt Tsirtsis and Howe wrestle at the same time unless Tsirtsis goes as a true freshman and Howe olympic redshirts next year.

Y2, Thanks for the list where did you get this? Thanks for the info!

    Fargo

Any ideas or updates on some of the guys going to Fargo and what weight? Tsirtsis Todd Jackson Brooks Welch's (do they wrestle freestyle?) Roach Raley Sliga
  18. Skonieczny is tough. Don't know if they look at Freestyle results with this but Murphy actually beat Skonieczny in freestyle the previous summer at Fila Cadet. Hard to believe after watching that match, he broke murphy at flo. Tsirtsis did catch a break in that match agains Skonieczny. I never saw a locked hands either. Congrats to Tsirtsis will be one of the top five recruits for sure.
  19. Y2, Agree with you that one year in the college room makes a huge difference. Hard to say if Nick Dardanes is an average college wrestler though he was just a redshirt last year. He was a top #20 overall recruit and ranked number #4 at 140 last year. Here is Minnesota's recruiting class a year ago. Nick won Fila Jr last year and came in second this year. But do agree that one year in the college room can make a big difference. Minnesota Top Recruits: (149) #15 Dylan Ness-Bloomington, MN, (141) #20 Nick Dardanes-Fenwick, ILL, (184) #57 Tyler Lehmann-West Fargo, ND, (197) #78 Scott Schiller-West Fargo, ND, (133) #81 Chris Dardanes-Fenwick, ILL, (141) #137 Seth Lange-Sturgis, SD After two seasons with D1CW?s top recruiting class, J Robinson and Co. check in this year at #5. Six future Gophers are ranked in the top 150 recruits, headed by Dylan Ness, little brother of this season?s NCAA Champion Jayson Ness. Speaking of brothers, the Dardanes twins (Nick and Chris), both Illinois State Champions, are aboard to man 133 and 141. The #78 recruit Scott Schiller was a late signee that will help bolster 197, a weight that has not always been kind to Minnesota. Past D1CW Recruiting Rankings: 2009 #1, 2008 #1
  20. Tsirtsis third place match yesterday against Chris Dardanes. He may have lost but really seemed to be the better wrestler. In the first match against Nick Dardanes that was a pretty even match. Nick just seemed to be a little more powerful. Don't have a link for that match but will probably be up soon. I think Tsirtsis takes Fargo this year if healthy.
  21. Where are the brackets for the cadets? On trackwrestling I only see the 84 pound wt class. If any body has a link to the brackets that would be great if could post it.
  22. Who are some of the wrestler wrestling this week? Tsirtsis still eligible? I know he won it the last two years. Todd wrestling? I saw Howe was entered for the university division.
  23. Sounds great look forward to the coverage. Should be a good weekend of wrestling.
  24. Drooke or Dingo, Any chance of a webcast for this event? When will the lineups for the all teams be posted?
